I love this place. The chicken Tikka masala is so good. They have great service, and are always quick. Restaurant is always very clean, and well-kept. I don’t get to make it to Athens often, but when I do this is definitely where I’m going to eat.

The food was terrible! My love mein noodles were so tight and flavorless. The food was not fresh at all. My husband’s food was so spicy he could not eat it. They asked if he wanted it mild medium or hot. He told her mild the girl stated the mild didn’t have any heat and recommend medium. My husband told her he didn’t want it to be to hot and that it was. I ate one bite and was done and he ate 2 bites and had a gallon of milk to cool his mouth off. The quality of the food was not good the flavor was not there and the noodles seemed to be old.

This is the worst food I have had in a long time. Overly sweet overly salty. It really is just terrible. The reasons for 2 stars the egg drop soup was tolerable. My daughter had sesame chicken and it tasted like plastic with panko on it. I wish I was exaggerating. I had some noodle bowl that wasn’t recognizable as anything other than undercooked noodles drowned in «Peking» sauce that was very sad and just tasted of overly salty and overly sweet. My man had the china town tacos and all he tasted was overly sweet meat in tortillas. Why eat here if it was so terrible, right? This was our first and last time. So the next time you get those flyers in the mail for this place the best possible option would be to put them in the recycling bin.

Good for a quick fix of Asian food, but my last take out had a metal thread from some steel scrubber. Not happy

The worst Kung pao Chicken and sweet sour chicken ever!!! Too salty and sweet to eat. First time to give bad review. Sorry, but it is just not good.

Food was way too salty. There were almost no veggies in either dish that we ordered. The store wasn’t particularly clean. $ 20 goes a lot further somewhere like Siri Thai or Cozy Yum Yum, and the food is a lot better as well. I won’t be returning.

Really good food and they offer discounts on a regular basis if you are on their email list. The staff is always very friendly, the service prompt and ordering online has been flawless.

Most of the food was way too salty. No one in our table could stomach the kung pao chicken. Honestly, the best tasting dishes were the ones you can’t mess up(fried potstickers and fried cream cheese roll). We ordered the coconut soup(salt city), kung pao chicken(drowning in extra salty sauce). I think the base soy sauce they use is higher in sodium than normal. The soy that came with the potstickers were much saltier than any I’ve tried, and I’ve had a lot of soy sauce in my lifetime. To top it off the«fresh» basil roll was obviously kept in the fridge for much too long. The wrap was chalky and lacked any sort of elasticity. The whole thing was stone cold and the vegetables inside had a rancid smell unlike that of pickling. I wouldn’t be surprised if I have food poisoning after. I’ll give them 2 stars for having alright fried foods and service being polite.

Just no. When you come in, there is no one at the front… so you just wait there. Our food was way too savory… omg maybe they have spilled the sauce bottle in there. And dont talk about salt, had to drink water all day afterwards.

horrible customer service, had forgotten my online order the past two times I’ve been in. Kept me waiting as a paying customer before I was even spoken too. Would not recommend. Great food but the people they employ are a real shame.

When I first tried Tin Drum about a year ago, it was wonderful. Great concept, lots of variety, and options to fit every diet. However, the past several times I’ve gone the food has just been awful. I got Pad Thai this past time and it tastes absolutely nothing like pad thai. I hope they get their act together and bring the quality of food back up!

I love this place. Good service and great food. I have a tradition of going here with my nephew after every movie we see. Will return again soon.

spring roll was good and that’s about it… chicken was super dry, sauce tasted old and burnt. literally threw my food away and went to subway

This is the only Tin Drum I have eaten at, so I cannot compare. When I have to run errands in the Alps Rd area & need a quick lunch, I find Tin Drum a good option. Yes, it is Americanized in flavors, but still good. I have two critiques: Some of the coconut milk based sauce items are too sugary. If you have sugar restrictions, don’t go with the curry. And People who order spicy want spicy, not a little tang. My heat loving friends, go ahead & grab the Sriracha.

I have been to other tin drum locations, & the food at this one is so bland! It is definitely«Americanized Asian Fast Food». I came here with a group of classmates for a club meeting. I had the Mango Stir-Fry with sweet-chili sauce, fresh mango, basil, onions, bell peppers, jalapenos, crispy chicken, steamed white rice. I did not even finish half of it. I finished the chicken and threw the rest away. Another negative was that they were out of Thai tea. Depressing. I probably will not return to this location.

After having tin drum at other establishments, I would say this one is the worst. While the food isn’t going to kill you, it leaves much to be wanted after you’re done. The egg drop soup is a super small portion especially when you order a large. It’s all unseasoned and tastes like egg water. The portions here are much smaller and the taste is subpar. I do like their Thai tea and pad Thai though. But still. I wouldn’t recommend coming unless you’re sick of other options.

My five star rating is based on comparisons to other«fast casual» not Asian restaurants overall. The food is very good and the restaurant is bright, clean, and open. I was very pleasantly surprised based on other ratings and will definitely come back. Also, I was thinking it would compare to PeiWei but this is so much better!

The atmosphere is fast food and the food fell into that as well. The tastes of the two noodle dishes we ordered were not close to any other restaurant with the same choices. It wasn’t bad, just didn’t hit the spot because of the different flavoring. We did use a coupon.

If you were to imagine what Asian food would be like in a shopping mall? This would be it. Fast food Asian prepared fast for people that might be afraid of flavor. It wasn’t horrible, but if I want curry or Pad Thai? I can think of three other places that do it better.

I was familiar with the Tin Drum locations in Atlanta(GSU Downtown & Lindbergh) so I was super excited to hear that an Athens location was opening up. I will say that the menu is slightly different, yet still tasty. I’ll agree with the other reviews in that the ambiance at this location is a little hectic with the«loft-ish» style construction. Neat & clean inside. I would say it’s ideal if you call ahead and pick it up for take-out. Portion sizes tend to be on the small for the amount you pay, but the food is always fresh & made to order which is nice! No combos that include a drink and/or side so the entrée is all you get for an easy $ 8 – 9. If you then add on a drink and/or side you’ll be looking at an additional $ 2 – 3 to your total.

I would give them a 3.5÷5 if that was an option. We thought our food was awesome and the service was great. However, there’s not a lot of space inside so don’t expect a table if you have more than 3 people with you! You order up front and then they being out your food. The prep area is out in the open where the drinks are which is strange, but this is really a take out place with only a limited amount of space for dining in. With that being said I’d definitely recommend grabbing take out here over any other Asian restaurant in athens!

The food here was fresh and well prepared and everyone’s order was the spiciness desired. Rice was texturally perfect and tasty too. The entrees had fresh veggies, crispy fried tofu and tender chicken, though they seemed to be mostly noodles or rice. The trouble comes with the environment. This is designed to be a take out restaurant as evidenced by the loud music, twin large-screen televisions side by side and the need to cross the server prep area to get your own drinks(in styrofoam cups). If you eat in, people waiting in line compete with the music for volume and it is very hard to enjoy the company at your table. For take out the food quality far exceeds any local Chinese place, but you pay for that freshness — which is expected. It is not as tasty as Siri Thai, but it is good and is quick and easy.

We weren’t blown away at all by the food. Pad Thai was ordered spicy and was far from it. Also, way too many uncooked carrots on top. Very nice staff that were very accomodating when it came to fixing my daughter’s dish that included an ingredient that she had asked not to have.
