For campers entering grades 1 – 5 in the fall

Our team of authors, musicians, teachers and curriculum experts set out to create a writing camp that turns the notion of «writing camp» on its formerly-​stuffy head.

Lessons are delivered as songs. Campers publish their own eBooks. New writing skills are practiced by writing rap songs.

History

Established in 2012.

Adventures in Writing Camp was created by Stanford-​educated authors Hans and Jen Hartvickson in partnership with Doctor Alison Nordyke and teacher Jonny D. Williams. The curriculum is re-​done each year by a team of credentialed elementary and middle school teachers to keep the content fresh and timely.

Business Owner

Jen and Hans are the authors of books including the award-​winning «Mister Lemur’s Train of Thought» and «It Will Take a Lot of Us to Lift a Hippopotamus,» and the founders of the educational band «The Scheming Lemurs.» They are also the creators of the GATE class «My Child The Author» and have taught eBook making workshops, teachers, librarians and the Stanford Alumni Association.
