I went here for the first time recently with a relative. It appears to be a typical Greek pizza type place with a dated décor. It’s much larger than your average place. We ate in, and ordered off the menu. It’s a large menu, it’s kind of like diner food. We had stir fried teriyaki chicken and lasagna. Both dishes were very good. Service was very good. I can’t comment on the pizza, I’ve never had it. It’s clearly better than average for a Greek pizza type place, and better than anything you might find here in Winchendon. I would go back, it’s recommended. Just remember… it’s not really a restaurant, it’s not worth a special trip, it’s a pizza place with good food.

I’ve eaten here multiple times, service is always extremely quick and friendly. I’ve had both steak and cheese subs and hamburg pizzas(I like beef) and they’ve both been absolutely delicious!

When you first walk you you are greated by tacky out of date décor the woman at the counter are rude in the sence that they have been working way to long and didnt set up a 41k retirement plan. Once you scavenge for youre own table you are greeted by a waitress poorly presented in yoga pants and a cheap logo t-shirt. Once you order the kitchen may not have everything thats on the menu. The menu is filled with all different types of food that you can not call just a spacific type from toco in a pocket to frozen seafood. I had ordered a cup of clam chowder and a chicken tender salad with italian dressing. What I recieved in good timing was a cup of cold soup and a poorly made salad. The tomatoes were far to large cut in fourths the onions long and stringy amd three cucumber slices. The salad dressing was real classy searved in plastic containers home made of course. Each container had a different taste, one completely olive oil the other vinegar and scattered herbs. The salad was saposed to come with naan bread but was sold off as cheap market basket peta bread. The bakery is all frozen sweets that taste old and stale, almost like somone kept them in grandmas freezer for way to long. All in all the only reason athol house of pizza is still in buisness is becuse of the elderly who grew up eating there and the few restaurants in town.

Pizza was good, taco in a pocket was not. Great service, friendly people. I’d return for more.

The counter staff are extremely rude, I’ve found sand in my lettuce before, serving sizes are too small.

Yes the décor is certainly dated BUT these kinds of places are fading away. It’s the local«House of Pizza» NOT Pier 4. Twice in as many weeks I’ve stopped in with motorcyclin’ friends and ordered the grilled chicken over Greek salad and been served a mountain of fresh greens, tomatoes, cucumber, feta and side dressing that has left me satisfied and ready to resume the ride. They have a menu that just doesn’t stop. More diner-y than pizza place. If you’ll be satisfied with good basic American fare, Athol House is a good choice.

Okay, I agree the décor could definitely use a makeover… but the food is good! I recently had the turkey BLT wrap with fries and I was quite satisfied. The coleslaw was delicious too. I’ve gone to AHOP many times for the baked goods too, which I recommend.

I’ve been there a few times and have been very disappointed! The staff is rude and do not have the best hygeine.(One waitresses fingernails are yellowy-brown(not polish) It kind of makes me lose all my appetite.) The food is extremely small for the price. They shrunk the pizza sizes, the large is now a medium, but they still charge the price for the large! The food just doesn’t taste good ether. The décor is definitely not up to date! OVERALLGOINGTOTHATRESTAURANTISJUST A BADEXPERIENCE!

After a day of Project Appleseed rifleman training at Winchester Rod & Gun Club, this group of Unilocalers(Dawn, Julia, Kerri and Laura) were HUNGRY and looking for a place to fill our grumbling bellies. Nearby Athol doesn’t have much variety in the way of eateries, but Athol House of Pizza Restaurant and Bakery offers a wide variety of tasty food with fast, friendly service. And I’m not joking when I say ‘variety.’ The menu has everything from pizza and subs to seafood to Italian dishes to steaks. And to top things off, they have two glass cases chock full of more delectable deserts than you can shake a fork at. Service was top notch too. Our waitress, Lisa, remained calm and personable as Dawn and I played Good Patron, Bad Patron: Dawn displayed her inability to order anything as described on the menu, while I made faces and apologized profusely. In any other town Athol House of Pizza Restaurant and Bakery may get 3 stars, but they’re clearly the best game in town.

I was there with Dawn and Julia, and Christopher, and Laura… Our Server was indeed, a patient, and great waitress. Lisa earned her tip, and more. She even brought us crayons. The Garlic bread was Divine. Yum! I ordered steak(yup, in a pizza joint), and it was surprisingly good for 10 oz. for $ 12 bucks. The Steak came with a salad, garlic bread, potato, and veg’s… I didn’t try the deep fried Mac n cheese thingies. They looked a little too much like spackle for my arteries.

Okay, our server was Lisa. This is important because she rocked in a way that wants me to give this place five stars even though they deserve four. Service was EXCELLENT across the board(and we did have to talk to a few our folks during our time there). My friend Julia and I shared a medium pizza with meatballs(which they did at special request by us) and garlic. The pizza was edible but not great, the meatballs had little flavor and I couldn’t really taste the garlic. We also share Mac N Cheese balls(fried mac) which were quite delicious. Other people at our tables got entrees which came with salads and garlic bread. The prices were cheap cheap cheap… yes, we almost got to $ 50 for the three of us that were on the cash check, but that included three beers, a pizza, and appetizer, two desserts and a steak. Athol House of Pizza is the place to go for dinner in Athol!(seriously, there was just one other pizza place that was skeevy and a Chinese place…) Oh… there’s a full bakery in here too. I’m just sayin’. And thanks again to Lisa for her awesomeness…
