255 Tapas Lounge

This is the second time that I’ve been to 255. The first was a few years ago. Both times were on Saturday nights. This review is based off my recent experience on a Sat in January.
Nothing too great about this place and nothing horrible. I enjoyed myself for the most part. The music was good. The line was quick. Parking sucks. This is a small venue so it can/​will get crowded. Depending on the time your arrive you may luck up and get a seat. The line for the restroom was ridiculous. I can’t comment on the food because I didn’t eat. My friend had wings and I didn’t hear any complaints from her. I had some tequila concoction that the bartender made when I told her I wanted something with Patron. Idk what all she mixed in the drink but it was pretty good. It was $ 11 but I did get a lil buzz from it. Overall, a cool spot to go to when looking for a bar/​lounge type atmosphere. This wouldn’t necessarily be my first pick for a night out but I would’t be opposed to going here again.

I absolutely wanted to give this place a chance since I’ve heard so much about the sliders. The service here is beyond ridiculous it’s a hurry up and wait game. Was seated with 4 of my friends and we all looked over menu to place our order the waitress never came back until prompted 30 min later. We started with drinks which were very medicore, I’ve had better drinks in hole in a walls. I ordered a turkey burger which they didn’t have only to go to my second choice a crab cake which they didn’t have either. I was over it and ended up ordering nothing. Management and the owner were a joke and said to say he owns Spin pizza which I will not patronize due to his attitude and how he handled the situation that was caused by his staff. My time was wasted and the staff was not attentive. I wouldn’t eat here if they had free food!

Always make time to stop by 255 when I’m in town! Love the food and the atmosphere. Great place to stop by after a Hawks or Falcons game as well.

I’ve been at 255 numerous amount of times but on October 24^th this was the day that this was the worst service ever. The waitress was very very rude and all she cared about was getting the money for the prize that my friend ordered. Which only were $ 2.43. What are the we got started my friend check my bank account and noticed that there was an extra $ 20 missing from her account. When she called her back and checked her statements online she seen that the 255 waitress had not only charge her for the fries but also somebody else’s tab which was $ 20. Idk if that was just a bad night or they were just busy or what but they need a better back patio staff that is prepared to handle a crowd because obviously those ladies don’t have what it takes to work at a fast pace bar. And don’t get me wrong I love 255 I like the atmosphere I love the music. I just think that the staff should go to a customer service training and be trained on how to use a bar POS system correctly.

Thursday night. I loved my strawberry martini. The waitress all looked very cute with matching uniforms and red lip. Patio, hookah and music was all good. Kitchen was closed but wings looked amazing.

By far the best jerk wings I’ve ever had. I only go here to listen to good hip Hop music and eat the jerk wings. Their alcoholic beverages are decently priced. They have street parking so if you come on a busy day you’ll roam the whole city looking for parking. Valet parking is 20 $ I think. As far as their service, nothing spectacular. Everytime I have went I enjoyed myself. The crowd is typically young, early 20s.

The waitress sucked badly! She didn’t even bring our water until our food was done. The guy bringing the food helped us more than our waitress. Horrible. Who does the hiring here. Smmfh. Never again. I should’ve stayed home to cooked rather than deal with this crap. Over this place.

Great music, great food and the kitchen staff are so nice they messed up on an order and gave a whole new portion for free!

Everything is good except the prices for the area 27.00 dollars for 2 shot is crazy they don’t charge that at 5 star spot

It was an ok spot. Over crowded for a small spot. The peach margarita I ordered was very good. I ordered chicken fingers and loaded fries which were too much for the small proportions. The service was ok. Thankfully I’m an honest person but I could have left without paying because she was never near the table to provide service. An hour before close she said someone was coming and had reserved the booth we were sitting in and we would have to get up soon… I guess

The food was anything but expertly crafted and the service was slow. Anything and everything is fried in the same oil. It’s clear it hasn’t been changed in awhile. If you prefer having a drink with your meal, I recommend bringing your own.

Jerk wings!!! Drinks are priced strangely. $ 5 crown royal $ 10 Captain Morgan… Ok I get it the demographic. Not to many whiskey drinkers and Canadian whiskey ehhh… Lol. But I can dig it. Pretty waitresses loud music good wings nice looking crowd I’m all in.
Street parking is always a plus and Peter street has it FIND IT cause $ 20 or whatever they charge for the 5 or 6 parking spots they have is not the move. Have a stroll come to this lounge and have a drink some hookah meet a girl. They have outside patio for smoking and mingling another dj and bar. It’s a live spot.

Horrible service. Cheap hookah. Meaning you get what you pay for… Smh… Don’t go… Waste of time.

The jerk wings are some of the best in town! My girlfriend loves the egg rolls. The atmosphere on Saturday nights is pure hip hop, with a live DJ. They have a back patio/​deck with cabanas that are great for lounging with a beverage or smoking on a hookah.

I went here for the first time on a Friday night for my fiancé’s birthday party. We arrived early, around 9pm, because we were told parking could be a headache. There was parking across the street but it was $ 20, so we decided to park on the street. We drove around for about 10 minutes before finding parking on the street behind the lounge. We walked right in. There was a small crowd inside of about 10 people. However since there was such limited seating inside, we were forced to the patio because we were expecting a large party (~15 ppl). We claimed 1 of the 4 – 5 sections outside. Our waitress was great, very attentive initially. As the night went on, we saw less and less of her as it became more crowded. By 11pm, it was standing room only and super crowded. We decided to leave around 12:45 am, but it took an hour to receive our separate checks.
Overall, it was a good experience mainly because I was in good company. The food was good. The calamari was ok, but remember it is a tapas lounge so the plates are small. I thought it wasn’t worth it for the $ 9 it cost me. They have a 10 for $ 10 menu after 10 pm, which is where you get the most bang for your buck. These specials are full size plates. I recommend the jerk wings. The hookah was also pretty good. It was $ 20 and unlimited coals. Because we were there for a while, we ended up getting another bowl which cost another $ 20. It’s summer in Atl, so it was warm on the patio lol.
The dj was pretty good, hip-​hop and R&B. At some point during the night, the venue started charging a cover — $ 10.

–Limited inside seating (enough for 10 ppl)

Extremely Bad service! Management is the worst! The outdoor patio is supposed to be sitting at your leisure. But, if another group comes in and they are going to buy bottles you are automatically removed from your table. Oh yeah and if you say something the manager will getting in a screaming match with you and ask you to leave. Don’t waste your hard earned money or your time. The place is a DUMP!

So, update.
Since I come from a customer service background, I really dislike bad service. While our waitress was good (wish I could remember her name), I hated the fact that you always have to find someone to do something as minor as change your coals for hookah. I also think it’s bad when you get to the bottom of your drink and no one bothers to ask if you want another before you ask them!
Also, I ordered the Jamaican jerk wings and specifically asked that they not be as over cooked or dry as the last time. The first time, they brought me some shit that seemed like it was sent to hell, played a game of spades with Lucifer, took a hot shower, and then found themselves on my fucking plate. Sent them back for a redo (cuz who eats wings that crispy?) and they sent me some wings that weren’t done. I’m talking pink on the inside and rubbery in the outside. I guess 255 doesn’t know what a happy medium is between under done & «girl, you really tried it.» I’ll add a pic when I get to my laptop. So I sent them back because you know… I’m just not here for salmonella poisoning. It doesn’t seem fun and I don’t have room on my calendar for hospital stays.
Overall, I like 255 but I think they could afford some major changes that’d make it the perfect tapas spot. But my last few times there have been way less than stellar.

The food was lukewarm and we had three different waitresses in 10 moms flat. They rarely came back to check on us. They have good drinks it’s just that the staff is not up to par and the kitchen staff obviously need a lesson in sanitation because food that is not cooked properly could cause illness and someone to die. My stomach now and we just left I would recommend for drinks but food that is not even somewhere I would eat if I were drunk.

Nice lil lounge in Castleberry Hill, would recommend the patio, which has an open feel, with two flat screens and live DJ.
I went on Thursday with a homeboy, and it was my first experience going out in ATL. It was really laid-​back and had a various types of people, from professionals to locals, to college students. I was an out-​of-​town guest and I felt like a resident for a couple of hours.
only bad thing is, the service is kinda slow, and you have to hunt your waitress down at times, but Ebony (my waitress) had our drinks made really strong (henny n coke) plus she was sarcastic but in a sexy way haha.
I definitely plan on making this my Thursday night chill spot when I head back to Atlanta.
