This place is so great! I am in town for a trade show and really needed a break and decided to order to the hotel I was staying. They were nice on the phone and delivered promptly. The guy who delivered the food was very nice and the food was great! They even included water, how nice.

My husband and I stayed at the Hyatt downtown for one night and came across this place when searching for a decent Indian restaurant nearby. We had gone for drinks and a charcuterie plate earlier in the night at the Polaris, but we were both still hungry and were craving Indian found. It was raining and we didn’t have a car, so we decided on Aamar since the deliver to the Hyatt, and I’m so glad we did! We ordered paneer tikka masala, cheese naan, and samosas, along with a few additional sauces. They told us it would be an hour, but they were at our door in only 25 minutes. Our order was exactly right, and each dish was piping hot and soooo good. Each dish was perfectly spiced and the samosa were huge! I can be kind of a snob when it comes to Indian food, but Aamar really inpressed me. If I’m ever back in downtown Atlanta in the future, I won’t hesitate to return.

Wowza! I’ve found a new RELIABLE delivery service in the downtown area. ANDIT’S DELICIOUS!!! Food was here in about a half hour(I’m 2 miles away), so that’s a good start for any delivery restaurant in the Downtown/O4W area. I had the Beef Saag Paneer, and was blown away. Huge chunks of cheese and meet, and was smooth and just the right amount of spice. I also ordered the VERY delicious Vegetable Samosa, and a side of Aamar Wings(HOT). Beware — while the wings may not seem very hot at first bite, the heat really is a slow burner. You’ll definitely feel the burn a minute later. Either way — I had a delicious dinner. And it didn’t weigh heavy on my wallet.

This Is A Vegetarian Review My 5 stars are in the context of the fact that this is a little hole in the wall which clearly focuses on take-out and delivery. That said, when my wife and I stopped by here and wanted to eat in, they pulled out all the stops to give us a full dine-in experience right there on the side-walk. It was endearing as heck. And then the food was amazing! And that’s the main thing they have going for them: they make amazing Indian food. And when I left my coat on the back of my chair, they held it for me for two days until I was about to swing back by and grab it. This is a wonderful, little place!

Consistently great Indian food in a small, understated place. Great to stop in before or after shows at the Realto. Food is made to order and not overly greasy. They also are open late… so useful for GT and GSU students

Spices are LEGIT! Watch out for whole cardamom pods, seeds, and spices in both the rice and the entrees :) Eaten here dozens of times, currently in love with their lamb dishes. Request«Extra» spicy to ensure a runny nose. Highly Recommended. There’s minimal Dine-In seating but they are often playing awesome bollywood movies and it smells amazing. Closed Tuesdays Mango Lassi ftw

Service and food was fantastic. Spicy means spicy! So if your not used to it go mild.

This little side café has the best Indian cuisine around. DONOT waste your time anywhere else. If you are downtown for a fun time and keep smelling delicious Indian food, you’re smelling it from here. The food tastes even better than it smells! My wife and I will only come here from now on. Don’t expect a huge restaurant with a lot of frills. Come here to eat and enjoy. The staff are friendly, prompt, and extremely helpful. Enjoy!

Chicken Tikka Masala, Vegetable Samosas and Naan … Absolutely fantastic. The service was amazing… portion size was excellent. If you like this kind of food… this is a must visit. Don’t be put off by its unassuming appearance. The food is well worth the stop.

Food is great! The palak paneer is as good as I make at home, and the basmati is fragrant and perfectly prepared. Delivery was fast, personal and pleasant. Next time I’m in Atlanta I’ll dine in.

I ordered delicious delivery for dinner last night. We ordered chicken tikka(medium spiced) and lamb curry(medium spiced) and vegetable samosas. Everything was good but the food was not spicy at all. Next time I order we will try spicy or extra spicy next time. The reason why I gave this review 3 stars is because the food was good and the ease of ordering on Eat24 through the Unilocal app was AWESOME, but unfortunately I had to spend 35 minutes on the phone with the delivery driver to walk him step-by-step through the directions on how to get to my address. He was constantly making wrong turns even though I was walking him through the directions. Hopefully when I order next time, I will have a better experience with their delivery staff.

The delivery guy conveniently did not have change. Otherwise, delicious food. I ordered delivery over the Unilocal eat24 app on a friday night for dinner. Showed up in 40 minutes piping hot and delicious. Had plastic cutlery and plates included, which was nice, so I didn’t have to eat with my hands.

Great service, very tasty food, and quickly prepared! The staff asked if I lived nearby and when I mentioned I was staying at a hotel up the street, double-checked that they had given me a plate and utensils, which I appreciated greatly. It’s not fun to wind up in your hotel room with fragrant Indian and no way to eat it! Solid 4 stars – not the best Indian I’ve ever had but very good and I’m happy with the service.

Situated right next to a parking garage, Aamar serves delicious authentic Indian food. Inside holds just a few tables and a long bar along the window. All food is served on paper plates and styrofoam bowls. Presentation isn’t that important when the food and service is on point. What I’ve ordered: Chicken tikka– the sauce is thick and creamy. It’s great over rice. Bullet Naan– this bread is spicy! Beware! I was tricked into thinking it was regular garlic naan. My mouth was burning! Saag paneer– the paneer cheese chunks are big just how I like it. The spinach mixture its in was a little watery for me but the taste was great. Vegetable samosa — flaky outside, and a delicous curry vegetable in side. Aamar wings– delicious crispy wings with great flavor. You must try this spot out if your eve downtown.

A hidden spot off Luckie street. This place is connected to Laz parking. It’s a hole in the wall place but the food is decent. I had the wings, chicken tiki masala and some garlic naan. The wings were really good, the masala was okay, and the naan was okay also. Everything is served on take out foam plates. The price was decent, some stuff I thought was high for the portion but overall still good. I talked to the owners they were really nice also. Don’t expect super fast service lol, it’s a mom and pop shop.

We tried Aamar Indian Cuisine for the first time tonight. We ordered delivery, using the Unilocal app. Food arrived in less than 30 minutes! My meal was:(Yellow) Coconut Curry Chicken with rice, Garlic Nann, and a Mango Lassi to drink. I really enjoyed everything. The curry was mild, very lightly sweet, had large chunks of super tender chicken. My garlic nann was just tender enough to fill with curry & rice.(I make something like mini wraps/burritos, with my nann & main dish.) The mango lassi was tasty, but I actually like mine a little bit thicker, and served icy icy cold. My beau’s meal: chicken vindaloo, and two orders of the regular nann. He really enjoyed everything. We got the Samosas for Two, as well. They were cooked absolutely perfectly! The wrapper was crispy, light… delicious. The filling was great, too. We highly recommend these! We both agree that we would order from here more often if the prices were a bit lower, but even still, will be ordering from here again.

This place is great. A little small however the customer service is outstanding. I went here with my husband for an afternoon date day. We sat at the high bar where we could watch the Atlanta trolley go around in circles. As soon as we sat down our server had two ice cold bottle waters placed in front of us which was more than welcome. For our meals my husband ordered the curry shrimp and spicy chicken wings, which also come in mild, regular, spicy, hot, very hot, and very, very hot! I ordered the Nirmash which is a medley of vegetables in curry with rice, garlic naan and Vegetable Samosas for two(aka just me lol!), which comes with a mint yogurt sauce and tamarind sauce for dipping. Though this place is a little expensive, the food and customer service were both above par. Everyone was extremely attentive to us and they even gave us a sample of their infamous Mango Lassi which was delicious! In the end if you happen to be staying in one of the nearby hotels you get to partake in their delivery service which is a blessing. So if you’re in the city give this place a try and see for yourself because hubby and I will definitely be back.

We were scrolling through grubhub and noticed a new restaurant. It turns out that Aamar is 4 days old! They delivered within an hour which is the time that grubhub said they would. The driver was nice and apologized for the long delivery time. We ordered the vegetarian samosas, lamb tandoori, vegetarian niramish and mixed naan. The samosas were awesome! the pastry was crispy and a little sweet, the vegetables inside were perfectly cooked and spiced. They came with both slightly spicy herb chutney as well as a sweet one. The lamb tandoori had great flavor, but the lamb was a little tough just because it was cooked well done. We like our lamb medium rare, but that may be too much for the average american palate. The niramish vegetables were delicious! They were not greasy and spiced well. The vegetables were soft, but not cooked all the way to brown mush. The rice was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The naan had great flavor, we loved the filling! I think it would have been better fresh from the tandoori but that is expected when you order delivery. I can see us ordering again soon and trying new dishes from their HUGE menu!
