Ace Hardware of Toco Hills

Now this is a hardware superstore they may not have all the large items but they definitely have all the small items nuts bolts nails screws nuts everything you need for your small projects glue lights everything whatever you need this store will probably have it. They have very friendly staff and workers that will help you find what you need. Overall I give the store a five star for being great.

Went to Ace Toco this weekend. I was looking for a plumbing parts. A washer. Gary was able to find the exact part I needed. Really amazing. So now I am able to finish my plumbing project and avoid the cost and time of getting a professional to come in. thank you very much Gary and Ace Hardware Toco Hills. When you do the job yourself, the tools are free.

I was raised on a steady diet of Ace Hardwares from a young age, so I have a soft spot in my heart for this brand of hardware store. However, after a recent city-​wide hunt for a patio umbrella stand, I now love Ace Hardware even more.
My fiancé and I recently bought patio furniture online: table, chairs, umbrella — the works. And when it arrived, we put everything together and then needed to get an umbrella stand since paying for one online seemed dumb (the shipping for a heavy base was nuts).
Our first move was to stop at Home Depot. After searching high and low on our own and asking an employee for help, he checked his inventory computer on his hip and sent us to another store whose computer said they had five stands left. We arrived and found zero stands and another employee who said the first should have called to be sure before sending us over. Great…
The next day, we went to Ace Hardware, closer than any Home Depot, walked in, talked to the manager of the store and he led us right over to the patio furniture and stands. He also shook his head at the ineptitude of Home Depot, agreed that’s why he’d quit the big box store, and immediately I liked him even more.
We were in and out in no time and I will absolutely give all my business to Ace going forward whenever I can.

This store reminds me of an old fashioned general store. I am greeted when I walk in every time and there is not a shortage of staff on hand should I need anything. They have an excellent selection of items. I have never gone in and not left with what I needed from trash cans, paint, keys, greeting cards, mouse traps etc. The staffs knowledge of Big Green Egg products is quite vast. On the instant that my husband asks me to pick something up, I just tell a staff member and they immediately know what I need. I we often be found here purchasing Big Green Egg charcoal. The prices are slightly more than perhaps a traditional big box store but the convenience of being beside Publix in the Toco Hills shopping center can’t be beat. Highly recommend this store to others!

I appreciate this Ace Hardware. There never seems to be a shortage of help whenever I’m trying to find an obscure fitting for some DIY project. They’ve got everything here: hardware and then some. Plus, rocket engines. I’m not kidding. Model Rockets. Small gifts and large ones. Grills and Big Green Eggs. Paint and plumbing, tools and tape, and everything else in between. I often think: «This is the closest thing to a general store that exists, anymore.»

I was excited to shop here having read the raving reviews. It’s impressive how much stuff they have in such a tiny space. Maybe most of the reviews here are outdated because service was aloof and not knowledgeable. When I got there, I found a young lady employee (seemed to be a teenager) standing outside flirting with male customers, the supposed hardware genie (sorry Sonya R — this is based on my experience) who will answer all your home goods needs seemed not very knowledgeable to me (I had to research my question online for my answers on how-​to and what to buy) — it was a simple question about light bulbs), and one of the guys — the big one, who seemed to be the manager or supervisor or just a big guy — he was at the cashier — was creepy and made an insensitive, rude remark. Who’ll be the first to say the emperor isn’t wearing any clothes? I will. I can’t imagine 5 stars for this place due to lack of service.

This Ace Hardware is top notch! I love how you walk in with any random home repair, tool, random miscellaneous screw/​washer need and there is a hardware genie at the ready to walk you to the aisle where your product is displayed and helps you pick it out. The knowledge these men and women have is astounding. I feel like the interview process there must be intense!
I imagine this is what shopping was like back in the 50s in small town USA and I must say it’s refreshing. Whenever I go to Home Depot (and I only go there bc the selection at Ace is not always appropriate) I get the worst tension headache! At Ace I leave with a smile on my face and I’m usually out in 10 minutes. Home Depot and other big boxes take a good hour to find what you need and if you are lucky you may find a helpful associate but the associate to customer ratio is was too small. Ace beats the pants off that — it’s like 5 hardware genies to 1 customer. I love Ace, what more can I say, they are the best!

I still love the local hardware store and it appears others who chose to review do as well. These guys uphold the tradition. Went Big Green Egg shopping, saw they were a dealer, so I went to look. Their product knowledge and willingness to go the extra mile won me over. My Egg & table are being delivered this weekend by people who I am now on a first name basis with. They knew the product, they USE the product & they bent over backwards to help me make sound choices. You can trust this location.

I have had PAST the up-​to-​here point with the big-​box hardware stores. I needed a few things and happened to be leaving lunch from somewhere that shares the parking lot with ACE. I figured… it can’t hurt. So, I gave it a whirl.
And it BLEW. MY. MIND.
The entire staff was friendly, up-​beat, cheerful… seemed to genuinely be happy to be at work, friends with their co-​workers, and interested in ACTUALLY helping me. I was approached within moments of walking in the door to ask if I needed help finding anything. I felt like it would have been totally okay to say «No, I’m just browsing», or «No, I got this». But instead I said, «Yes, I have a few things I need to get…»
The sales associate went through my list one-​by-​one, actually listening to what I wanted to do and what I thought I needed to do it, then offering me a variety of different options to do the same job.
Me: I need a small eye-​hook to hang something outside.
Him: Well, here are all the different sizes of «small» we have. Since it’s going to be outside, might a suggest one with a Stainless Steel finish, so it won’t rust?
Me: Why yes, thank you very much!
Him: No problem. Do you need a hook to go with it?
Me: No, I have one already, thanks.
Him: Of course. Do you have a drill?
Me: Yes. Yes, I do. Why?
Him: Great, so I’d recommend taking a drill bit slightly smaller than this and popping a little hole where ever you’re going to screw it in… just to make it easier.
Me: Wow, what a helpful tip! Thank you!
And over the next twenty minutes, I got a few other neat tips and tricks, as well as the four other items I needed. I also got a few cool idea for future projects!
At Ace Hardware, I was treated with respect. I was spoken to like I was an adult. Even when I had a brain-​fart moment (and FELT like a complete idiot) and asked if they had «a thing that goes on umm… another thing, and can like… hold things…» he knew EXACTLY what I was talking about right away, reminded me of the name in a totally friendly, not-​at-​all condescending way, and found it for me within a moment. I love Ace Hardware. And I will be a customer forever.

This is one of the best aces ive been to, the staff is great and do know there stuff. also theres always someone to help you find whatever you want, i use to live about a mile away and would bike here after high school to pick up some tool or another then head home and it hasnt changed much over the years, best of all the staff very rarely changes (they can tell you where everything). while they arent one of the biggest aces by a long shot but i like them way more then the bigger ace on scott blvd. also while ace is slightly more expensive then home depot they easily make up for that in awesome caring knowledgeable staff.

I’ve been a loyal Home Depot customer since I was about 5 years old and discovered the «beep beep» (the machine they use to move heavy stuff).
However, ACE is a great local hardware shop. I find myself running in from time to time to quickly pick something up. The owner is so very helpful and will take his time to make sure you find exactly what you need. He’s also full of great recommendations on everything from screws to wood cleaners.
It’s a good thing he’s so patient and helpful though because this tiny store is jam packed with stuff! Every time I think I’ve identified the isle my problem solver item is on, I’m redirected to another. I once had to get an asbestos testing kit — Hope Depot didn’t have it and sent me to ACE. On the rare occasion that they don’t have something in stock, they’re happy to order it for you.
I hate doing this but –1 for confusing me with your organization style and being a little pricier than Home Depot. That aside, thank you for all of your awesome help!

Terrific, knowledgeable service can be found at this Ace Hardware, which includes some gift, home and toy items along with the more traditional «hardware.» There are other Ace stores, such as those on Scott Blvd., Howell Mill Road, at Peachtree Battle, and Roswell Road that have more square footage and inventory; this store is comparatively smaller. This is a good store for women (or men) who are not experienced at household repairs and improvements; larger warehouse-​type stores may seem more «corporate,» and more impersonal and intimidating.
Of course you pay something, but not much, for this. If you don’t need help, the salesmen stay hands off. I give these guys as much business as possible.

Very tiny! There is not much space to move around in there, but they pack a lot of stuff in that tiny building. I love my kerosene heater and Home Depot doesn’t carry kerosene (the one I use on Lawrenceville Hwy. and N. Druid Hills) after January, which doesn’t make any sense. Have no fear though because ACE carries it year around.
Toco Hills is just huge and finding one shop can be a pain. It’s on the Publix side (not on the Kroger side) and is in the corner.
I took one star for the early closing times otherwise it’s fairly decent if you don’t mind being cramped. ;)
