AMC Dine-in Theatres Buckhead 6

My last visit to Fork & Screen Buckhead was pretty unpleasant due to our server who was pretty clueless on what to do and how to let people enjoy their movie. On Mother’s Day I took my mom out to see the special re-​release of Purple Rain. So we ordered our food prior to the movie starting. I ordered some Cajun pasta bowl and my mom ordered nachos. All I remember is the waiter came to us at least five times during the movie which was unnecessary. We noticed other people (who also ordered food) were not approached nearly as much. We pressed the button for the waiter maybe twice… But he kept coming. Giving us the bill, asking for tip, yada yada yada. It was just like uhh… we’re trying to enjoy the movie please stop walking in constantly. If this was a restaurant, checking up is ok but in a movie theater not really. My mom found her nachos disgusting too and barely ate it. At least he took the nachos off the check when we asked him to. I dislike the swivel chairs and seating arrangements. The menu has a good variety. The bar tenders are basically pointless and don’t want to make anyone drinks. I’m glad we came here with free tickets on this trip. I hadn’t been here since 2013 prior to this visit. It may be another 3 years before I return or never again.

Food was decent, service was good and free parking. All in all my experience at this theatre was pretty good. Yeah, the food and drinks are pricey but, it’s all part of the dine in experience.

Go to Cobb AMC instead — it’s nearby and they have been seats, cleaner theatres and friendly staff.

So I usually go to cinebistro but this place was really close so I figured I would give it a try. Big mistake ;(I have been sitting here for 20 min waiting for anyone to take my order. The seats are basically red office chairs. And the screen is very small. It was uncomfortably silent for the first 10 min I was here. Just a really poor quality experience don’t waste your money.

Sooooo many theaters to pick from and some how I ended up here. I haven’t been here in years and although the interior has been updated a bit, the theater just seemed a bit dead. The staff just didn’t really seem to be that concerned with the needs of the guests (as it took my friend almost 40 minutes to get a drink she ordered) and even when the movie started, there was soooo much movement from the staff still serving food and drinks.
Just like most theaters, they have assigned seating which isn’t clearly marked unless you check the individual signage at each seat and it would be a lot helpful if the rows were labeled well. The chairs aren’t the most comfortable but they’re doable. Guess I’m thinking about this new reclining seat movement sweeping the theaters.
Now to the food… the menu has a wide variety of things to pick from burgers to salads to pasta to milkshakes. I, for whatever reason, opted for the sampler which came with pretzel bites, three chicken tenders, loaded tots, and their garlic buttermilk biscuits. This was a bad choice. Everything was salty and I’m pretty sure they threw it in the microwave for 13 seconds and brought it out to me. In other words, I wouldn’t recommend that. I felt like it was a waste of $ 12.
Verryyyyy mediocre service and food. Apparently our server was handling three different rows and didn’t really have he help she needed and orders came at some random times. Closing out our ticket also took quite a bit of time and I’m wondering if all the servers went on break and left her alone to handle all the customers. Out of the three dinner and a movie options, I have to say I’ll gladly go to the others.

This is my least favorite AMC in the area. I’d been here twice before but my most recent visit sealed that this is no longer an option for me.
FIRST VISIT: This was for a team-​building outing at work. My boss thought it would be a good idea for us to walk over to see Paul Blart Mall Cop. I thought the office swivel chairs were unfortunate but they didn’t detract from the spirit of our outing (and it was better than being at work). Since it was the middle of the day the theater was empty and we had an unobstructed view of the screen. The food was mediocre. (3 star experience)
SECOND VISIT: The boy and I came here to see The Lego Movie. He had never been to a dine-​in movie so it was a special treat for him. It was an early afternoon show and the theater was mostly empty. The food wasn’t memorable but I do remember feeling sticker shock when the waitress dropped off our check. Even though he had a great time, the hit to my wallet had me thinking it was a one-​and-​done experience. (2 star experience)
THIRD VISIT: They had the movie time I wanted for The Gift and I figured my AMC movie pass would help defray the cost. I followed a car into the parking garage only to find that the arm wouldn’t open. We both had to do an awkward, Austin Powers in a luggage cart three point turn to get out. That should have been my first clue but I was so intent on getting to the movie on time that I drove into the deck near Solomon Brothers.
By then the theater was almost full and I had to take a seat on the back row. The conference room table and desk chair seating combo felt too stiff for a Saturday night. There was a lot going on around me and I could see it all. Each swivel of a chair, side conversation or press of a call button distracted me from the movie.
I was also annoyed by the servers sliding through the rows and I couldn’t get into the story like I wanted to… which defeated the purpose of being at the movies. I knew my picks from the menu were going to cost me but I didn’t expect to pay $ 12 for parking too! (Zero star experience)
You can’t beat the location, but since each visit to AMC Dine-​In has been worse than before I’ll have to pass in the future.

Terrible experience.
1) The lobby area was filthy. Trash on the ground and tables. Sticky menus and tables.
2) The bathrooms were filthy. No toilet paper or paper towels. Sticky floors. Trash everywhere.
3) We came 30 minutes before the showing thinking we would be able to go in and start ordering before the movie. That would have been great if they had opened the theater before the previews began… But they didn’t. The employees walk around slowly and clearly have no work ethic. We missed half of the previews due to the employees taking their sweet time to clean the theater and turn it around from the previous movie. We were allowed in and only saw one film preview (we were the first people in the door).
4) The quality of this experience is on par with a dollar theater. Including our food we spent over $ 90 for this evening for two people. A huge waste of money.
5) The food was awful. Not even on par with Applebee’s.
6) The service was even worse. Not sure how any of these people are employed.

You know, people seem to have this weird fascination with combining restaurants and theaters. I’ve never been into that, really. If I wanted to eat a meal while watching a movie, I’d just as soon stay at home. That being said, I have a soft spot for this particular theater. This was the first place I saw _​Blade Runner_​, once upon a time. AMC Backlots (the precursor to Fork & Screen) used to be a good place to catch a cheap flick and then head upstairs for sushi afterwards.
Now, it’s as expensive as any other AMC option. And my biggest complaint about this location: the seats are terrible. «Uncomfortable» would be the fewest number of syllables I’d like to apply to this description. The bar is nice, but the drinks are expensive. I suppose it’s cool that they actually serve food there, but there really is nothing noteworthy on the menu. I know, I know. I’m breaking my own «you don’t go to the Varsity for foie grais» rule. But I think they would be well served to trim down the menu to a small handful of really good offerings, instead of a large slate of mediocre ones.

I visit the AMC Dine-​In a few times a year — usually because I’m stuck in traffic on 400 and can’t take it anymore. There was a time when tickets on Monday thru Thursday were $ 6, which made it a cheap option as well. (I checked the website but I didn’t see any statement about this pricing still being in effect.)
I was here tonight to see a movie that had sold out in other theaters. I knew going in that service is pretty bad, but it was super bad tonight. Even though there were a lot of staff it took about 20 minutes to place our order, another 30 minutes to get our drinks (a water and a soda), and an hour to get our food (one appetizer sampler platter.)
The food and drinks are average. I equate it to eating at Applebee’s or a similar generic establishment. The food and drinks are also over-​priced, but so is the concession counter in a regular theater so I’m not going to hit them too hard on that.
The seating is weird and has changed over the years. Right now it’s these odd, hard swivel chairs that are not comfortable. You won’t accidentally doze off in these chairs.
While I don’t like a lot about this theater, I find that I can’t give it less than three stars because I get everything I need, and I know how awful it is yet I still come here.
Unilocal 100 #3

This is a dine-​in theatre in Buckhead. It is difficult to find as it has no street exposure. The entrance is in an interior courtyard area.
Bar in the lobby and food service at your seat. We had a small round table on the second row. I was reluctant to buy a seat that close but it turned out good.
Had very good quesadilla but it arrived way before our wine.

I would give this a negative number of stars if I could. Lets start with the seating — it nothing more than fancy office chairs pulled up to tables.
But the worst part — and why i will never go back again is the constant interruptions while trying to watch the movie. CineBistro stops service once the movie starts — but not AMC 6 — they just keep on coming… walking in front of the screen, walking behind you and bumping your chair, talking during the movie to take orders, running around with brightly lit devices taking orders…
Completely ruins the movie experience…

I want to give more stars than 3 because I have enjoyed coming to this theater since it was the only one like it 15+ years ago. I still enjoy it but I am writing this review because I am disappointed with the menu. They keep changing the menu. Don’t order the Mac n cheese bowl. It was not large enough for a meal. I expected more for $ 12. And sadly the taste didn’t make up for it. And they changed the chicken tenders meal to include some biscuits and increased the price by $ 4. There also aren’t any options to have any sides. No vegetable or side salads. Overall I still like this place but the food options are not my favorite. I want to feel better about the price and the overall experience. PS– The liquor options are still good ;)

It has been years since I have gone to a movie. I don’t want to pay the price for tickets and snacks. However, my mom was in town and begged to see Star Wars. So I purchased online tickets in advance for tonight.
First, let me say I didn’t have the experiences other people did. I was able to easily find the theater by following the signs clearly posted. I parked on Level B. The parking was free since it is Christmas day. The escalator was broken, therefore we had to take the elevator. No big deal. Once in, we were told that it would be about 10 mins before we can enter. Well 20 mins went by. Agh… however once we were able to sit down, all was well. My waitress was Johnny on the spot. She was friendly and attentive.
I did not witness any excessive talking, loud clanking of dishes, loud eating and or waitresses walking back and forth in front of me. However, I selected seats that were close to the wall away from the steps. When they had to walk in front of me, they tried their best to kneel.
We did not eat eat. We had popcorn, she a diet coke and a berry lemonade for me. The popcorn was not the best, i felt that it was not fresh. The hard lemonade was good. The berries were muddled with rum. The people next to me ordered hamburgers and milkshakes, looked decent.
However, the most important thing I wanted to address is that the lights were turned down. I had read that the lights were left on throughout the movie. I was worried about this, because I thought it would ruin the experience. Yes, they leave them on during the previews for upcoming movies, but don’t they all. Again years since I’ve been in a movie theater.
All in all, my mom and I loved the experience. I would be back.

This is the way you should watch movies! I loved it the food was really good I was not distracted at all. The waitress was really nice, just push a button and she comes right out. Also like that you can reserve your seat before the movie starts.

If you like spending time at the office you will love AMC Fork and Dine. My last movie was in theater, I mean conference room 6. Office chairs, conference tables, limits visibility and a small screen.

The theater was very clean. I like the set up. The food was better than expected. My drink was excellent. I ordered the Angry Fire drink which came with a complimentary glass. Cool glasses! Oh and the pretzel bites were mmm. mmm good! I think that I like this theater much better than Studio Movie Grill.

This was my first visit to the Fork & Screen in Buckhead and though I was apprehensive after reading a number of the reviews, I was pleasantly surprised by the food, service & atmosphere.
My wife & I attended a mid-​week matinée and shared the theater with only one other couple, which undoubtably had an impact on the service we received. Our server showed up promptly after we pushed the «ready for service» button and was very courteous. We ordered the Chicken Quinoa Salad & Cajun Mac ‘n Cheese bowl. Both dishes were delivered quickly and were very tasty.
We’ve visited the Cinebistro in Brookhaven and AMC Fork & Screen at Disney Springs (Orlando) on many occasions. Yes, both have more comfortable seating & menus that are more extensive but overall we found the Fork & Screen in Buckhead to be a reasonable alternative if the movie times/​selection at Cinebistro aren’t to our liking.

If you’re seeing a movie you really want to enjoy, I wouldn’t recommend coming here. When i came here, the servers were very kind and attentive, and the food wasn’t bad, but the experience was pretty awful.
The chairs are basically office chairs. Super uncomfortable. The experience is much louder than a typical movie going experience, since there are clanking plates and forks throughout the while movie. The food takes FOREVER to come out. Also, the people who go to this theater treat it more like a restaurant than a movie experience (talking loudly the whole time, etc.). The staff does nothing to correct this.
Save yourself the money and just go to a normal theater.

MOVIE NIIIIIIIGHT!!! Okay so i’ve been DYING to go to this place ever since i’ve come to Atlanta! I heard so much about it! Came here Friday night to watch the Minions (don’t judge me lol) and had a great time! It was completely empty (probably because the movie was just so awesome!!) our waiter was hilarious, really great service. It was a bit chilly in there but no complaints. I had enough laughter to keep me warm! Pina Colada (my fav) was delish! Deffo recommend going! Be warned, they dont list all movies showing too ahead in advance — we had to wait until that night to see what would be showing, thank heavens my lil minions buddies were on that night! Would love to go again when my friends come over to visit.

The whole advent of these dine-​in movie experiences was supposed to be a step up from a regular theater viewing. For the most part, these places succeed. However, AMC Fork & Screen is one of the cases where I would pass it up and rather go to a regular theater.
Why? Because it doesn’t even feel like going to a theater! First, the seating arrangement is very strange. Every seat is a rolling office chair. These are not very comfortable, and there’s no opportunity to recline or even slouch. Also, they roll– so the whole time the movie is going on, you’re struggling to keep your seat still. Second, your «table» is either going to be a round table (that basically forces you to turn 90 degrees to your left or right to see the screen) or a platform that reminds me of a college lecture hall. In fact, the theater and the screen make me feel as if I’m IN a lecture auditorium. Third, the lights don’t dim much, and keep pulling you out of the movie immersion.
I understand why the lights don’t dim– so the servers can see where they’re going. All other dine-​in movie theaters eventually stop server service after the movie starts. Not AMC Fork & Screen. You can call on them anytime with the touch of a button, and ruin the movie for everyone sitting behind you as the server blocks their view and your chatter keeps them distracted.
Another major gripe: the food. I paid $ 20 for chips and queso. Four times as much as a Mexican restaurant would charge me, and for about half the quality. The chips were stale, the cheese was room temperature, and the serving size left me wanting more. Although they have a lovely looking menu, I doubt many of the items are worth the price tag.
Final annoyance, the parking lot for the movie is hard to find if you’re not familiar with Buckhead and use GPS.
So there you go, a movie experience that pretty much fails in every aspect. I would go pretty much anywhere else to catch a movie.

My husband and I decided to try out the AMC Fork & Screen this past weekend when we waited too long to get good seats to Phipps. If I could do it again, I would have taken the bad seats at Phipps.
First off, we had a hard time locating exactly where within the Tower Place complex the theater was even though we are familiar with the area. For your reference, it’s basically right off of Piedmont on Tower Place Drive. We parked in the Tower Place deck (near Buckhead Church) upon entering the complex area as it was the first deck we came to. After the movie when we asked if they validated parking, we were told that we parked in the wrong deck to get our parking validated and we should have parked in the deck that is located closer to the theater (that we couldn’t find when we pulled in off of Peachtree). So in addition to our $ 30 movie tickets, we had to pay $ 15 to park as well. There was no signage at either deck as far as if you could or couldn’t park there for the theater.
Once we walked into the theater, we were a little taken aback. First, the chairs are basically office chairs so that was a bit shocking and underwhelming. Second, the screen was tiny compared to other theaters. Third, we had reserved two chairs that were in groups of two (we thought they would have a bit more room). Turns out, that was because there is a table between them. So you basically don’t even get to sit next to who you are seeing the movie with.
We sat down and decided on just popcorn and Coke since we were going to dinner after the movie. Service was fine — nothing exceptional but nothing awful. However, the popcorn was basically cold and borderline stale. The worst part of the actual movie experience was that people talked throughout the entire movie basically. I have no idea what the deal is but judging from other reviews it isn’t uncommon.
Basically, we definitely had a disappointing experience and won’t be returning (should have checked out Unilocal prior to buying tickets). My recommendation is to buy tickets a few days in advance to Phipps or CineBistro.

I was disappointed with this theater. It has very great potential to be an awesome dine in theater but it lacked good service. This theater is a little hard to find when you get there. It’s hidden and there are not very many signs that lead you to the right place.
I went with my coworkers to go see Inside Out. Upon sitting, we waited for a few minutes and looked at the menu. We then pressed the button to request the waitress to come. 15 min later, absolutely nothing. Nobody came to entertain us or ask us for any drinks that we’d like. I then walked up to the lady and asked if someone were to help us. She said that a different lady will be taking care of us. 10 – 15 min later again until we got our waitress. At this point, the movie was starting. When ordering, they ran out on multiple items. Ugh. We were frustrated but still ordered. Food came back at a decent amount of time. Food was alright, nothing too spectacular.
Overall, bad service but nice place.

Chose to come here on a Saturday night because all the other movie theaters (Phipps, Regal on 85, Atlantic Station) were sold out for the movie we wanted to see.
Parking: You can park in the Towers parking deck, but it doesn’t explicitly say. I even called the movie theatre to ask if I could park there and they put me on hold and didn’t get back to me. Also, we had to ask someone to validate our parking for us whereas at Atlantic Station Regal you can easily validate your own parking.
Location: The theatre is located tucked somewhere that you can get from the third floor of the deck.
Ambience: This is a very strange set up. You sit in rolling office chairs at a long table, which I’m not a fan of. I much prefer having my own comfortable chair. They bring out food in order of appetizer entrée dessert, which is very unfortunate because having the servers constantly coming in and out in front of you to serve people is quite distracting especially since their shadows show up on the screen. (Now I understand why places like Cinebistro only allow you to order within a certain time before the movie to avoid disruption.)
Service: The servers did seem nice from what I could see, but it did take at least 15 minutes to respond to us pressing our button.
This place would definitely not be my first choice in theaters with AMC Phipps Plaza and Cinebistro nearby.

It Was a little shocking to walk into a dinner theater with a classroom Style seating and communal counter table with office chairs.
Once the shock wore off, it was actually a decent experience. The chairs are truly comfortable and the food better than expected. Staff were attentive and friendly and we found the service was very good; for example: the staff constantly brought drink refills to our seat with having to ask; nice touch.
I can’t say I would repeat it; the experience felt like a catered university lecture rather than a movie watching excursion. Never say never though… They were the only game in town with seats for Madmax on Sunday evening; go figure!

Pros: The location is great for me since I live in the city of Atlanta.
[That is my only pro sadly]
Cons: The volume seemed to only be in the front of the theater. The screen was on the small side. My food was lukewarm and we waited for straws and a lime for what seemed to be 4 scenes worth of the movie. The customer service was subpar. The best part is when the terrible movie ended and we had to just sit there for fifteen minutes to wait for our change and credit cards.

Seating is TERRIBLE. Kind’ve like you’re back in grade school. I’ve went here twice only because it was convenient to where I lived or where I was going after. Service was subpar and the parking is irritating too. I passed the parking garage I don’t know how many times. It’s a busy area, so doing that is already a pain in the…
Last choice for this type of movie theater.
