Location gives this spot an extra star. A few things I tried were curiously low on flavor but I think that was my mood. As things improved for our patient in week 2, the food tasted better to me and I was glad to have an alternative to standard fast food available. Very friendly staff in my multiple visits, too!

Love their coffee and their food. It all tastes great and is healthy. Being open 24 hours a day 7 days a week is also a plus. My only gripe is that the sandwiches they make are a little on the small side and they are over priced but apart from that, they have a good selection of food. As a tip, if you get coffee, buy the refill cup. It will cost you about a dollar or so more but when you go back and reuse the refill cup, it will cost you 20 cents less for what you would pay for a small coffee and your refill is the same as a large coffee. The refill cup is made of durable plastic and will last a long time. I have had my refill cup for over a year and use is each time.

Au Bön Pain is in the basement of Piedmont Hospital. This is separate from their main cafeteria area. They have a great selection of sandwhiches, soups, made to order salads, lots of coffee options and some great deserts.

It’s a small comfort in trying times to be able to take solace in food, as unhealthy as that may sound. I spent a lot of time at Piedmont earlier this year while a family member was hospitalized, and I was so glad for this little gem. When you think«hospital,» it’s not usually something that evokes food cravings. However, I was in my first trimester when my family member was hospitalized, and I found myself absolutely craving BLTs from Au Bön Pain. In addition to made-to-order sandwiches and salads(and also cases filled with pre-made salads and sandwiches), there’s also a wall of soups and an entire display case filled — and I mean FILLED — with the most amazingly delightful pastries. I saw a red velvet cupcake on one visit, thought about it on every subsequent visit, and finally succumbed to my desire on the final visit. It was heavenly. Seriously, this place is like a God-send, especially being that it is open 24 hours. I really wish other hospitals had such amazing options.(Yes, I’m talking about you, Northside Atlanta, with your horrible 24-hour McDonald’s.)

Truly one of the best kept secrets in Piedmont Hospital! I found the pastries, soups and sandwiches from this Au Bön Pain to be fresh and flavorful. It’s a great alternative to the food served by the hospital itself(which i not bad really). Au Bön Pain’s soups are diverse and well-made(even if they are probably«made» off-site. Their sandwiches are creative and tasty. Don’t forget that Au Bön Pain is an option if you are visiting or staying at Piedmont.

This location is open 24⁄7 ! It is in the basement of Piedmont Hospital. Probably not convenient unless you work at Piedmont Hospital, are visiting someone there, or are IN the hospital yourself. I just want to say THANKYOU for being there. I was in the hospital over 5 days recently and during the night I get HUNGRY… Usually breakfast is around 715−730a, lunch comes soon around 1130−1145a, dinner around 530p… and then you have a 14 hour starvation period all night. If one could sleep that’s one thing but they wake you constantly for blood samples, temperature, blood pressure, even come in the middle of the night just to empty your trash bin! So during the night I get hungry!!! Plus one goes stir crazy after awhile sitting in the same place for days. SO… once a nurse told me I could go there I was elated! Gave me a destination to walk to. The Danish are great. You can get a big real size coffee!!! Not the little cup on a hospital tray. PLUS you can do it anytime!!! So I went every day, and so did others. Some people even walk down there rolling their IV drip with them. Just having that down there makes one feel a lot better! Some nurses wont want you to go anywhere. Guess it depends on the patient. Just hit B for basement and follow the signs!
