Avril’s Carwash & Detailing Center

Been here twice. Both times they’ve been painfully slow. They skipped the trunk both times.
The second time went like this:
Carwash: That’s $ 32
Me: It says wash and interior is $ 23
Carwash: Well he said you asked for a wax too
Me: No, I said wash only
Carwash: Well, it would be more anyway because of the extra work.
The extra work was my car actually having dirt on it, which I thought was the point of getting it washed. I wouldn’t be surprised if they overcharged me because I’m a woman and they thought (rightfully) that I could be bullied into paying extra. Never again.

The staff here is generally nice but SLOW. Slow as in the tortoise would run laps around these guys.
Here on a Saturday and just 5 cars back my car is finally being attended to after an hour of waiting. Prices are good but I would not call the product exemplary. Having taken this long I could have gone to the store, picked up supplies myself, washed at home, finished a beer celebrating self gratification and still be done by the time I finish writing this.
My advice to you … If you come here have 2 hours to spare, ask how long it will take upon pulling in and decide from there. $ 20/​car for a clean in & out is good but for the time it takes I suggest you go elsewhere.
My advice to management… Get your staff some energy drinks and speed them up. I’d like one too since I’ve been sitting here for over an hour and I’m totally parched. Btw, don’t let your staff talk on their cell phones while they dry your cars.

Went to the Briarcliff location to detail my SUV prior to selling it, $ 180 + $ 20 tip later and my car still looked horrible. No attention to detail, none of the small cracks were cleaned, door jams filthy and the cleaner they used left a white film all over my surfaces. I spent 2 hours cleaning up their mess. Never go here.

Nutshell: Decently priced. Cheap and fast when they do start on your car. Lines can be very long. Will come back again during the early morning or afternoon when there are less people.
Work: I got the express exterior/​interior car wash, interior wipe down, express exterior wax. The express wash was very clean. They were able to get off some hard sap on my car and cleaned my rims well. The interior wipe down seemed a bit rushed as they missed some small spots (nooks and crannies). The express wax was OK given the price. The applied oil on the tires was a bit skimpy. But overall, everything was decently clean.
Price: Express exterior/​interior car wash $ 20. Interior wipe down $ 3. Express exterior wax $ 12. Pricing is fair with decent work compared to other car washes I have been too.

I try hard to support local, small owned/​run business. However, when you pay $ 32 for an Express Detail yo would think that the least they could do is wipe down the dash board. From the time I pulled in, I felt like a bother. No «hello», «hi», «howler you today», not even a «what car wash would you like today». I had to offer all information. Basically they wiped the outside of my car and vacuumed it. A 5 year old could have done a better job in barter for some Halloween candy.
Needless to say, I will be trying the next car wash down the road.

Eh, I appreciate the fact that they cleaned my entire car for me but they left a ton of dust in my car from their rags and the dashboard didn’t look any better. I had to get in and wipe the dashboard back down to get rid of the dust and try to get rid of the spots that they didn’t clean.
Also, they charged me for an SUV when my car isn’t as big as an SUV so I was charged $ 5 extra. Prices start at $ 20 for a car and then go up from there. So, I was charged $ 25. If you have a bigger SUV expect a couple more dollars added on. I’m ok with the price if they had done a really good job but there were many spots still left on my car. I don’t even know if they really touched the rear door area. There was a ton of black all over it from dirt.
The part they did a good job of doing was vacuuming the inside. That part I was happy with but not the rest. I would only come back if I was feeling really lazy and had the money just lying around. Otherwise, I would go somewhere else and spend a lot less and vacuum it myself.
It was just ok for me. $ 25 doesn’t make me want to run back anytime soon to give them another try.

I think Avril’s is fine for the basic $ 20 wash and interior vacuum. But know that you have to double-​check if you buy extras. I got all the way home to discover that the trunk vacuuming that I had paid for did not happen. So I drove back. They took me right away, but offered no apologies, credits or anything. Makes me wonder if my wax that I paid for actually happened. I may be back one day for the basic wash — or not — but for a thorough detailing I will go elsewhere.

As I was sitting and waiting for my car to be cleaned, I watched the man cleaning my car go through the side door compartment, empty my container of quarters and put it in his pocket. I confronted him and he gave the money back, but claimed it was in the floor. I will not be returning to a place that has dishonest employees.

It had seating inside and outside which was nice. The cat is very clean. They could have done a better job on the inside of the mirror, but overall great job. The other downside is it took over 30 mins

They do a really good job for the $ 20…most places will charge you $ 35. Inside of the windows were well done and dash was wiped down. I would recommend this car wash to my friends.

My first time and not my last! I hadn’t washed or waxed my 2001car in 3 years. It looks brand new!

$ 12 for a desperately needed wash for my car (just the exterior). The workers were friendly, and my car looked great afterwards.
The waiting area was cozy, and my car was ready relatively quickly.
Would definitely go again next time I need a car wash.

So I just left this car wash an I have to say being from New York it’s hard to find a hand wash car wash that I’m happy with and I’m definitely happy with this car wash… I find it really hard that ppl think they’re dirty because it a very clean work environment next to a organic plant shop… I guess ppl find things to complain about… But they’re an clean… I had my car detail (wash, buff an wax) an my car look amazing… I will definitely return even if it’s just to have a regular wash an vacuum… Plus it’s right across the street from Starbucks keep up the good work…

Friendly service, reasonably priced, and Eco-​friendly products. Avril’s is conveniently located for me. They do a great job cleaning the interior of my car and an OK job with the exterior. A few times I had to have them re-​do some places they missed. Everything is done by hand. This is a good thing, but makes waiting times long especially when they are busy. I have waited close to two hours. Overall, Avril’s does a good job and I return.

I have been to Avril’s close to a dozen times. The first time was back when I had a Toyota Echo (which I strongly believe was created by the most practical and boring human being in the world). Anyway, I had left a 6-​pack of diet cokes in my back seat in the summer, and they exploded. I called Avril’s to see if they could take care of the problem and how much it would cost. They said they could do it, and the price was so much less than I anticipated (around $ 20, I think). They did a great job, and I decided if I ever wanted my car hand-​washed or detailed in the future is go back (I really didn’t like that car so it was neglected). I did get it cleaned, express detailed, and full interior detailed over the course of the next almost two years, and minus the fact that my car smelt like greasy hamburgers after the interior detail I was happy.
Now I have new car that I love, and they always treat Ellie (my car) and me very well. I also feel like their prices are very reasonable.

Worst place ever! I brought our passenger van here to be cleaned, it’s takes hours and it’s the worst job ever! Every panel on the van had dirt on it where the guy didn’t clean it! The kid told me it was 32.00 and when I went to pay the manager told me it was 50.00 because it was a van! Wow this place is robbing worse than Al Capone!

I had my interior cleaned/​detailed today. Normally I vacuum my car myself, but a dog that I was pet sitting had an upset tummy and relieved herself in my backseat.
Not only can you not tell that my poor backseat was a dog’s bathroom at one point, but the car looks like new! I could not be more happy with the results!
I highly recommend going here even if your car has not been pooped in!

Finally! A car wash in Atlanta that I will be returning to!
$ 20 for an exterior hand wash, an incredibly thorough vacuuming (seats and mats), and a dash dressing that actually got all the caked on scum off of my cupholders is quite the deal for this area. This is the kind of cleaning job I’d do myself (if I didn’t live in a condo building without access to a hose…).
They were busy, but not overwhelmed on a sunny Sunday afternoon. All in all, it took about 30 minutes for my car to be ready, but I didn’t mind because they have a very unique waiting area, as the business is co-​located with Farmer D Organics. So, while I waited, I perused the composting pail selection and the organic gardening how-​to books, in the serenely decorated store.

I went to Avril’s Car Wash for the first time based on the Unilocal reviews here. I was in dire need of an interior cleaning for my abused, old car. I saw that the interior detail was $ 80 (also, I remembered that price from their website and here on Unilocal too, which is also the reason I went).
For the $ 80 price, they did a pretty decent job. They vacuumed inside including my trunk, shampooed the carpets inside (but did not shampoo the trunk, which I believe should be part of any detail package). They cleaned my leather seats very well. My backseat had all kinds of small children type sticky messes, including a spot of melted green crayon. They were able to clean all of this from my leather seats. They also cleaned a week old soda spill in my cup holder and console. It wasn’t perfect, I did notice some crevasse dirt around the gear shift and radio. But for the lowest price for this type of detail work, I did not get too bothered by this.
My biggest gripe comes when I paid. There was a spot on the receipt for a tip. I added a 10% tip and wrote the new total of $ 88, then signed the receipt. The guy then handed me my copy of the receipt and I left. I got in my car and looked at my receipt and saw that there was an automatic $ 10 tip added on to this receipt with a total of $ 90. I didn’t think a whole lot about it, since the real receipt that I signed is what is supposed to be charged. Some places put suggested tips and I figured this was no different. But it wasn’t. My bank was officially charged $ 90. To me, this is blatant fraud. When a consumer signs a receipt with a specified amount, that is what is supposed to be charged to that consumer’s bank account.
A tip should never be mandatory. If you want to up the price of your service to $ 90, do that. But do not advertise an $ 80 service with a mandatory $ 10 tip. This is very shady and borderline illegal in my book.

I’ve been coming to Avril’s for years. I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed them yet!
One of these days, I will need a detail. But so far, their $ 20 inside/​outside basic wash seems to do me just fine. The folks here do a thorough job. I always come away leaving like I got away with something shady. Twenty bucks is a bargain for not having to do any of this myself!
A while back, I came in for a wash and also inquired as to scrubbing or buffing out some dirt or something. It looked like a car bumper brushed against my car and left some residue. Since it didn’t come off with just a wipe of a towel, I decided it was too much work for me. Avril’s took care of it! The staff is friendly and eager to answer your questions, even if they’re dumb.
Inside, you can get free coffee and comfortable seating while you wait. There is also a gardening store I haven’t browsed, as I have a black thumb (that would be the opposite of a green thumb… I can’t even keep bamboo alive). But I do see plenty of people perusing the inventory.
I’ve never waited more than about 30 minutes, and that was on a busy Saturday. If you have ants in your pants and can’t sit still, there is a Starbucks and a Tuesday Morning across Briarcliff and a Whole Foods on the opposite corner.
And the best part about all of this is that Avril’s is eco-​friendly!
