I LOVE Barking Hound Village in Buckhead! I took my Goldendoodle Abbi to Barking Hound 3 days a week for almost two years, and the only reason we left, is because I was transferred to California for my job. Leaving this daycare, was one of the hardest parts about my move. From day one, I have been nothing but happy with the staff, facility, service and grooming. It is not easy to groom a Goldendoodle (plus I am very picky), and I have always been happy with the grooming. My dog gets SO excited when I tell her we are going to see «Jessica», her favorite Barking Hound employee, and even if she’s not there, I know Abbi is in good hands. Stewart does a fantastic job at choosing his staff. I HIGHLY recommend Barking Hound Village in Buckhead if you want the best care for your dog. I never have to worry about Abbi when she’s there, and that says a lot from this overly obsessed dog mom!

I can not thank the folks at Barking Hound Buckhead enough. The team at Barking Hound Village is soooooo professional and loving. I highly recommend any friends needing boarding or doggie day care to check them out. A+ service!

I can’t begin to explain how much I’ve debated posting a Unilocal review — 100% not my style, but I felt I had to.
Doggie cams are GREAT. They allow you to watch your pup while you’re at work. I do this frequently.
After not spotting my little guy for a great number of visits on the on-​line doggie cam or the screens in the lobby, my partner suggested I ask the manager where they’d been keeping my pup. Not until I ASKED THEM where they’d been keeping him — did they reveal that they had been «having behavior problems with him jumping» and that they’d begun crating him for hours at a time.
I wish I’d started marking the days that I couldn’t find him on the doggie cams, so I could ask for $$$ back for each day that they charged me $ 25/​day to lock my dog in a crate — when I was taking him to daycare to so that he could socialize with other dogs and not be locked up.
I feel stupid for not getting an answer sooner — and robbed for all the days I paid for a service I wasn’t receiving.

I wanted to get my dog groomed here bc I wanted to support something local instead of petsmart. Not my best decision. Lack of paper work, information and professionalism from the groomer.
The haircut is uneven EVERYWHERE. And I’m not sure what the groom even included. (My fault for not asking)
The groomer asked if I wanted to add a tip before I even handed her payment… Awkward.
The establishment is nice and the front lady was sweet. But won’t be going back for a grooming .
Needless to say. I won’t be going back.

There has been a recent decline in the quality of dog grooming services at Barking Hound Buckhead.
First: I have been a loyal customer of both doggie daycare and grooming services for chain for over the past 9 years. I used to go to the original Cheshire Bridge location — where the service was consistently awesome. Then, about 5 years ago, I moved to Buckhead, and began going to this location as soon as they opened for grooming services. Over the past year, I have seen a steady decline in their services and management as far as grooming services go. It takes longer to schedule my dogs for grooming appointments, I was often kept waiting between 15 – 30 minutes after scheduled pick up time, multiple times in a row (and spoke with other customers coming in to pick up their dogs who also admitted having the same experience). The cost of grooming at Bkg Hound Buckhead has increased, and the quality of the grooming itself has decreased (eg: spots missed, some nails still long, no little touches (handkerchief around neck).
Additionally, when I visit the location and see how many dogs they have in their facility at once — along with staff levels: it seems more important to them that they push dogs through their work flow, rather than treat each individual dog to quality standards, as well as adhere to the time management guidelines they commit to when booking appointments. Not to mention that for the incredibly high prices charged, there should be an expectation of BOTH quality and service.
I’m very disappointed to say that after almost 10 years with Barking Hound, I’m going to be searching for services elsewhere.
***UPDATE***
I emailed the manager of this location; Stuart to give him the opportunity to respond. I was pleasantly surprised at his quick response and request to discuss the issue personally. He offered me a full refund for this most recent grooming experience, as well as a grooming credit to come again once more time in the future as he explained they had recently experienced a number of issues they were working hard on correcting. I’ve agreed to give them another chance and will make an appointment to re-​visit them in late July and will provide an updated rating at that point.

Hugo has been going to Barking Hound since we first got him back in August 2014. I work full time and live with my brother who is still in school so about once a week, sometimes more, sometimes less, Hugo needs to go to Daycare. I found Barking Hound through Unilocal but also on recommendation from a friend who takes her pup to a location in Midtown. The first few times Hugo went he was a little apprehensive (as was I). I watched him the first few days on the cameras and he mostly just observed or cried. Very Hugo.
But now — Hugo LOVES going to Daycare. He cries in excitement the second we start turning down the street. I can tell he likes all of the people working there who I have also found to be very friendly. The cost is not expensive at all for the service and the area. I have also been impressed with the other Barking Hound locations that we have boarded Hugo at.
Finally, if all of this wasn’t enough, they carry Hugo’s brand of food so I can always pick up a bag when I’m running low. They’ve even offered to order specifically what he eats before.

Let me first say how much my husband and I (and of course our fur baby) LOVE Barking Hound Village!!! I originally found out about this place through Unilocal,so I figured I should write a review now that Cooper has been going there for about a year! The staff at BHV are so helpful and you can see that they genuinely love animals! I cannot say what a relief it is to be able to either drop Cooper off for the day, or with their boarding services knowing that he is going to be spoiled AND he’ll be having a blast with his doggie friends :)
I HIGHLY recommend Barking Hound Village! They are AWESOME!

I brought my dog here for a groom on a Saturday. Everyone I talked to on the phone to make (and then reschedule) the appointment was really friendly and helpful.
I had been taking my dog to PetsMart for grooming, but after a couple wonky-​looking cuts, I thought I would try somewhere new. After all of his previous haircuts, he always looked somewhat funny. (Granted, he has long, thick, wiry terrier hair that I’m sure is difficult to trim.)
After his groom at Barking Hound, he actually looked handsome, and the price was on par if not slightly cheaper than what I was paying at PetsMart! He did have one random tuft of hair on his ear that had been missed, but I trimmed it off myself. The whole groom only took two hours which was great! I will be bringing him back for his next groom.

Our pup was so happy spending the day there!
I was nervous going into the daycare this having been our first time; and quite frankly having had a BAD experience with another local doggie daycare. BUT Barking Hound Village’s staff took such good care of him:) We were able to watch him through the day on the Webcams… and it was fabulous. I called during the day and they spoke to me and answered my questions. They also took the time at pick-​up to do so and put me at ease… We received a Report at pick-​up to let us know how he did/​what he did throughout the day.
The only part I am sad about was that he didn’t want to go home! I had to buy Lick-​A-​Lots to bribe him;)

Great for daycare, boarding, and grooming! They have a friendly staff. My dog is always jumping out of the car before me so he can get inside as quickly as possible!

In love with this place!!! I am so happy someone recommended me to barking hound because I am IN LOVE! I have a five year old pekingese and he has never gotten a haircut that I loved. After taking him to barking hound I was so surprised at what an amazing job they did! The haircut was exactly what I wanted and my dog was happy as well. I will definetly be returning. The staff was so kind and welcoming.

Amazing location and awesome staff. We consider this a vacation for our two pups. They always treat us like royalty and more importantly our pups love it there.

After adopting a dog last week last week I started wondering what I was going to do with him on the days doubles had to be worked? Keeping him in a kennel all day and letting him out on break just to turn around and put him back in just wasn’t sitting well with me and started looking up day cares in the area.
Barking Hound was found, they let me take a look around and even said the” first visit would be free,” oh and they have cameras so nervous parents can keep an eye on their babies o.k. sign us up.
Our first visit — paper work was already filled out, they made copies and he was quickly lead off with me following behind I figured if he got to nervous or I didn’t like what I saw he would be taken home immediately this was not to happen. After socializing for ten minutes he was then put in main room with all of the others in his «category» suddenly I was quickly forgotten & off he went.
The doggies get report cards when you pick them up, he made this «mama’ proud. Vino had a ball, made some new friends and was told he was» very vocal,” hmm weird haven’t seen this side yet. He was there just under six hours apparently he had a good time cause he was passed out in the back seat in under five. The staff is helpful the owner Stuart put me at ease and the rates will fit into my budget, the fact that this location is down the street from where I work makes this so convenient it’s a «no brainer.»
We cant wait to go back next week.

For the last several years I’ve taken Jackson, my cockapoo, to Barking Hound Village Westside for daycare, overnight boarding and grooming services. So, when I learned BHV opened the Buckhead store, I wanted Jackson to give it a try for daycare.
As expected, Jackson was eager to play and was warmly welcomed by the very friendly, professional staff. The store is clean and has a great play area to watch the dogs at play. I had to stay just a few minutes before leaving because it was so much fun to see the dogs play with each other and the dog-​watcher they had in the play area.
A nice perk, that I have not used, is the concierge service to transport dogs between Buckhead and Westside in the BHV mobile. Picture the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine and you get the picture for shuttling dogs providing a nice convenience for daycare to overnight boarding. I can see this a big help when heading out of town.
Upon Jackson leaving from his first day of play at BHV Buckhead, he didn’t want to leave right away as he wanted to «sample» and play with all the treats and cool toys on display. I’ll definitely be back to Buckhead and Westside.
