The perfect neighborhood bar(even though I don’t live nearby). Great burgers and friendly service. You cannot go wrong here!

One of the better bars I’ve been to. Great hospitality and they treat you like regulars even if you’re not. Great food, drinks, and friendly staff. Definitely recommend to anyone that comes down here for a trip or anyone that just wants a place to hang out with a group of friends.

Work at Piedmont across the street and Black Bear beats any delivery service we’ve ordered from. The blackened salmon is amazing! Not salty in the least bit. Open late and real friendly staff. Great food. Check them out.

Douche bag bartender with gold bracelet and pinky ring! Just like Da-city(I’m from there). Rude and bad service. Left and headed to Elbow Room. Much, much better. Save your time and $

My husband and I always enjoy black bear for a stiff drink and good bar food. Staff are all really friendly and attentive. Live music on the weekend and I have even been there when there was a DJ! Open late which is nice.

Blue moon on tap=happy me. Black bear is a fun place to watch a game/grab a beer with friends. FYI –smoking is allowed and happening here. Just your neighborhood bar really. Their sign says«best burger in Atlanta» but then isn’t that h&f? Oh well:…the chips are good

I don’t come here for drinks but I go for lunch often. Really solid food. They have a surprising good salad and if you want to eat burgers and fries, they look great too. One day I will make it over there for drinks.

I loved this place years ago and now think pretty meh. It’s kind of stayed the same while the area around it has surpassed it with both beer/booze selection and far better, more creative food. Black Bear could have made a case for best burger in Atlanta 10 years ago but now is just mediocre. It’s just OK now but fine for a good time once the booze gets flowing. I’d go with wings and a beer from their bottle selection.

Not sure if you’re the owner or manager, but if you think it’s appropriate to take up 3 seats at your bar and surf the Internet on your laptop at 530 happy hour, you’re mistaken. This place SHOULD be packed at happy hour, no wonder it isn’t. This is not your living room, man. The food is good, but the atmosphere is lacking, and it doesn’t help that there’s a big pile of bar space wasted on a laptop screen so you can surf Gmail. Manage your bar, or GTFO.

FAIRWARNING — This tavern is very smokey all the time. Cigarette smoking is allowed inside! The food is great. We went on a Sunday evening to watch some of March Madness. This is a Olé Miss/Chicago Cubs bar. It’s a small little tavern but the food has to be what brings people in! We started with the Southwestern Chicken Eggrolls. It comes with a chipotle dipping sauce and it is delectable. I would highly recommend it. I also had the Awesome(Chicken) Burger. It was AWESOME. I mean how else am I supposed to describe the awesome burger? It is topped with bacon, pimento cheese, fried jalapeños, fried pickles, onion straws, spicy cajun sauce on a croissant. I definitely recommend it. You cannot go wrong!

I went with a group of 6 people on a Sunday night to watch some basketball games. Parking was free since it was Sunday. The place was pretty empty, except for the bar and one other table when we arrived. It looked dingy indoors. We were told to sit anywhere. Somehow smoking is allowed inside, even though food is served. So areas of the restaurant had a more smokey distinct smell. We originally had a waitress that wasn’t really friendly and was giving us attitude. Before we ordered food, a new waiter came over and said he would be taking over since the waitress had been there all day. The new waiter was very friendly and attentive. The food took a good amount of time to arrive. My friends ordered egg roll appetizers and they arrived the same time as our meal. I got the mushroom Swiss burger. It was good. Some of the other burgers my friends got looked more original, so I would probably try one of those next time. I got the shoestring onions on the side, which were very good.

At first I wanted to check this tavern out because we were looking for a good place to watch March Madness and this tavern had good reviews. The parking was free on the side of the road which was great. Entering the tavern was another story! I wasn’t impressed with the layout, old tables/chairs, and the fact you can smoke in the tavern. The windows were foggy and no one was smoking. Quite odd right? Luckily the food made up for it! A LOT! We started with the Southwestern Chicken Eggrolls and they were delicious! They came with a Chipotle dipping sauce as well. For the main course I had the Brisket Quesadilla. When it came out, I was confused because it came to the table in 3 pieces which looked just like 3 tacos. I asked the gentlemen who brought it out and he said that’s how the tavern makes them. As soon as I bit into one, I no longer cared about the presentation of the quesadilla because the flavor of the brisket was out of this world good! I couldn’t finish the last one because I was so full but they were fantastic. They had Brisket, cheese and Pico de Gallo. That’s all they really needed. Our server was very knowledge and helpful in making menu decisions especially for only working there for a little over a month. Props to him! The tavern was also very cooperative when we asked to switch the TV stations to the basketball games. They also have 2 dart boards in the back and have a free set of darts to rent out and play. I would definitely come back to this tavern on a game day sometime and recommend it to others for sports related purposes.

It WAS good but … I went to the bar after 2 drinks and was told I was«slurring» and they couldn’t serve me a drink. I’m 24 years old and went to UGA. I’ve been here several times and live across the street on collier and date an olé miss grad. I’m not not sure what the problem is and am writing this the same night am I mistyping? Ok. Not going there again

Ok this is nothing fancy and the stench of smoke on the way in May be a turnoff. Big screens and friendly cozy ambiance at this pub. Ambiance aside, the pub grub here is very, very, very good. Walked in on a Sunday at noon and the place was packed. Bowl of chilli was homemade with a huge portion; mozza cheese stick appetizer tasted they were made right in the back. Took pictures of the amazing house salads we had. Blackened salmon with ranch and Fire grilled chicken breast with real bacon bits and, surprisingly, a balsamic vinaigrette obviously made it in the back based on the diced ingredients visible in the saucer; wow! The neighboring tables had plenty of humongous burgers, will have to try them on another early trip next time as Skipping the smokey ambiance is of prime importance. All and all, great hole in a wall to catch a game and have great food. 4 stars for food. 2 for atmosphere and it averages to a solid 3 stars for what it is.

OMG! I had the most amazing burger here. Luckily, I have a friend who, like me, is on this life quest to find and eat all the amazing burgers the world has to offer. Whilst looking for a new bar to watch the game(us single gals gotta change it up) she came across a list with this place having a pretty great burger. Amazing burger, yes. Eligible bachelors, no(lol). All I need in this life of sin is a great burger though, so… they win! I had the Ulcer burger with queso and jalapenos and it was out of this world. You could tell the meat was well seasoned and the toppings all blended together perfectly! I’ve had a burger with jalapenos before(that was too spicy to enjoy), but this one struck the perfect balance of tasty with the right amount of kick. For days my girlfriend and I reminisced about our burgers(I can’t remember which one she had, but she loved hers the same). The fries… OMG! TASTY! I’m really surprised I haven’t gone back yet. I would liken this to a Cheers like, neighborhood bar. I almost left when I walked in to see how empty it was(I mean, I was looking for a boo and this was championship football) but am glad I stayed. I can see why it would be this way though, as it’s in between Midtown & Buckhead and easy to miss unless you’re familiar(or go to CVS alot)…but the intimacy of it all grew on us quickly. They have many TV’s, so you’ll be able to see the game from anywhere in the place. They also have an amazing beer selection(if they actually have it in stock, alot of my selections were out that day *removes star*) and fun shot selections. I honestly didn’t even notice the smoke smell until I got into my car, but it was a fairly empty Sunday afternoon so maybe it can get as bad as other reviewers have mentioned.

GREATPLACE and FOOD but… They allow people to smoke indoors. I did not enjoy eating while inhaling second hand smoke.

Really like this place more than I thought I would. I always drive past it on Peachtree, but had never been inside. For one, it’s a Chicago bar. Didn’t know that before going in but there was a Bears game on and a ton of Chicago fans.(This is a plus for me being from Chicago). Second, there are darts. Always trying to find places with darts to substitute the always crowded Orsmbys Wait staff was very friendly, drinks were reasonably priced, place was clean and had lots of TVs. I didn’t try the food but it looked like typical bar food. Only downside was the indoor smoking, although there was only one person smoking in there the whole time I was there. Definitely coming back again!

Great neighborhood place! Burgers, salads, and on Chicago Bears Sundays — they serve Italian beef sandwiches and Chicago dogs!
