Very fun club in midtown. Great music. Really fun people. The service is just ok. It has nice modern décor.

First time here. Went with a friend. Typical bar and Dance floor. Pretty fun. They had quite a lot of entertainers. Decent drink prices. Pretty crowded on weekends.

Th is was my first time in Atlanta and I really enjoyed my time at Blake’s. I went on a Sunday during happy hour, which was extremely busy for a Sunday. There was a nice crowd hanging out by the front window area, but there was still plenty of room to sit and enjoy the music and people watch. The bartender that helped me was extremely friendly and veyr helpful with my drink selection. Anytime I’m in the city I will be definitely hitting up Blake’s.

So… much…fun! Stumbled in here by accident one day after a stroll through Piedmont Park. There was quite a crowd, but I was able to find a seat at the corner of the bar. The music was good, and the bartender immediately came over with a menu. I had the sliders, which were an excellent choice… I recommend. I decided to stay for the drag show that happens on Sunday nights. It was totally worth it!

The worst customer service! Jim, the bartender upstairs this past Saturday on April 2nd, with a blue tank top was very rude. He yelled at us and created a huge scene for asking for water. My friend was drunk and needed to hydrate. We offered money for a cup for water. Jim also used some vulgar words towards the customers that probably should be grounds for firing. Fire him because you are seriously losing considerable business.

Horrible customer service! Absolutely the worst — bartender Jim was very rude and refused to serve us water, even when we would pay for it. Too small of a place and worst bartenders ever.

I don’t really have much of a barometer when it comes to comparing gay bars to others, but the last time I went to one I freaking slayed Notorious B.I.G.‘s «Hypnotize.»(Come at me, bro.) That happened about five years ago. So yeah, I don’t know much. But when your queer homegirl comes into town and wants to check out the ATL’s LGBTQ scene, I immediately thought of Blake’s. Why? Well, it’s literally right across the street from me. Anyways, my humble take: ***** I. ATMOSPHERE/DECOR Upon entering, you’ll notice that the crowd, composed of predominately white gay men and straight women celebrating their respective engagements, will probably be gettin’ hella crunk to truly awful Brittany Spears remixes that’s paired with a rainbow laser light show. The main square room has a large bar in the middle, and it’s just… really uncomfortable. And by uncomfortable, I mean that there’s lots of craziness going on in a very small space. Examples: –Dudes being aggressively grabby along the bar and crazily making out and humping one another, without the concern of others nearby. –That one girl who had too much to drink and can’t stay upright in her high-heels, who literally falls into other people and knocks them over. –The very tall and strong woman who pushed my friend out of the way while saying, «Uh uh, honey. That’s mine,» while going after the only chubby Asian dude(me) in the bar. –Did I mention the Brittany Spears remixes paired with the rainbow laser light show? Yeah, that. So, what’s my advice? Get really hammered before visiting and wear shoes that you don’t mind people stepping on. And if you arrive sober, consider taking some shots of truly disgusting apple-flavored Crown Royal because you don’t know any better. When in Rome, right? …RIGHT?(Damn it, Vi. That was awful.) But seriously, don’t hangout in their main room. Take the ascending stairs in the back – past the bathrooms – to the second floor. It’s a lot more chill, has more space, and it doesn’t feel like you’re heavily tripping on laced acid. There’s also a nice enclosed patio with low-hanging lights, too. It’s ideal for talking(not shouting), and there’s an exit to Blake’s parking lot.(That’s right, you don’t have to walk through the inferno that is the main room.) II. SERVICE Regarding theirservice, the bartender didn’t roll his eyes when my friend Vi requested apple flavored Crown Royal. But he should have. Seriously, though, he was a very nice guy. III. OVERALL If you’re a straight man with a queer friend that’s trying to figure out where to bring him or her, then Blake’s might serve as an adequate option; however, just know that all your senses will be overloaded, like watching a Japanese animé movie in the dark while drinking Four Loco and munching on shrooms. Seriously, though, I’m in no rush to return, but I can see how many people have made this their weekend staple.

Cool little dive bar near the park that is friendly and fun. Nothing special but great place to grab a quick drink or to get stinking drunk.

This place is so much fun! The drag shows are everything. The only issue I have is that the drag shows are done in a rather cramped area because it gets so crowded at Burkhart’s you can watch the show from upstairs but Blake’s isn’t set up for that. Nevertheless, it’s really fun! My gay bf and I(straight chick) come a couple times a month and we always have a good time. Everyone is really nice I haven’t had not one issue with a bartender telling me to move or refusing to serve me. I just wish Blake’s was bigger. Go you’ll have a fun time(especially if you see the drag show!).

Brent and Belinda make this place. They are amazing people!!! I call Belinda Miranda girl, like from devil wears Prada. Sweat, beautiful, innocent. Brent is strong man, caring; everyone dies to see him shirtless, but his mind is equally beautiful! Been coming here for years. I only leave reviews when people stand the stand the test of time.

Not happy. Giving yourselves a $ 25 tip instead of the $ 4 tip on $ 20 that I had written is just wrong. Thankfully my credit card notified me of the suspicious charge and refunded me the full amount when Blake’s couldn’t provide them with the original receipt.

No need to go to this bar if you’re black or any other race outside of white. They have made it clear in previous flyers at their bar, they don’t want urban people there or people who don’t fit a specific look.

Totally racist and overrated boring white centric bar. I use to frequent this spot when I traveled to Atlanta because it’s super close to where I usually stay but I don’t care … not going ever again. They’re unwelcoming to black clientele, unfortunately some of the black clientele are oblivious to this fact or don’t care but the sick sentiment definitely exist. The music is horrible, again diversity is embarrassing low which is what they want(there’s another post I read that spoke on the racist energy I witnessed), lame vibe, not a good dance spot, food subpar, the men who frequent there are unattractive/unappealing/no personality/racists. Please seek other gay spots in Atlanta to gather & enjoy(don’t go to Einstein’s either) … they don’t deserve your business.

Here right now. Waited for this bartender for 20 mins as he served everyone around us and ignored us. Never again. Live in Miami and never waited this long for a bartender.

Blake’s is one of the most popular gay bars in Midtown. It’s ALWAYS packed. I could probably drive by at 2pm on a Monday and it would be shoulder to shoulder. It’s almost all gay men, but even as a lesbian I can objectively say that all the bartenders have perfectly sculpted bodies. The drag show is not very long. We got there 45 minutes late and missed it. The upstairs and downstairs are both good for dancing, but I wish they had a pool table.

This place was a disaster. I’m not sure I’ve been to a more poorly designed bar. The bar space takes up a ridiculous portion of the downstairs. It’s laid out almost like a perfect square, which pushes everyone out to the perimeter of a good-sized space that backs up pretty close to the wall. If you want to talk to people, you’re pretty much restricted to your immediate surroundings, at least on a crowded weekend night. Once you settle on a particular area by the bar, you’re pretty much stuck there. Other reviews seem to indicate that there’s an upstairs. If so, the entrance to it isn’t easy to find. If we weren’t right in front of it, the bathroom would have also been hard to find and almost impossible to access because of how many people were crowded throughout the poorly designed space. We were here on Saturday and got a glimpse of the drag show, which I enjoyed until one of the white queens made a pretty racist comment to an Asian guy. He and a group of four or five others were on stage for a dance-off, which the drag queen who was emceeing the show judged based on whose moves drew the most cheers/applause from the crowd. The Asian guy was the first to be eliminated from the competition and as he left the stage, the queen said something along the lines of, «Would it be racist if I gave you some rice-a-roni as a parting gift?» Look, I love an edgy, transgressive drag show just as much as the next guy but it was just a lazy, sophomoric attempt at a cheap laugh. It wasn’t funny at all — just a «haha, look, this guy’s Asian!» kind of comment that you’re more likely to hear from a bully on a middle school playground. Also, one of the bartenders apparently gave my friend a hard time for not starting a tab after she ordered a second drink. Being the nice person that she is, she went ahead and opened it but it ended up being completely unnecessary since we left after round two. I was here with a group of awesome friends and we still had a good time in spite of this being a bad bar. When I’m back in Atlanta, I’ll be sure to suggest a different gay spot!

I was visiting from out of town when a local lesbian recommended Blake’s On The Park for libations. Apparently, this place consisted of two floors, but we were definitely mesmerized by the drag queens on the first floor that we missed the second floor. Most of the drag queens were quite entertaining. The drinks were relatively inexpensive, but then they did serve them in tiny plastic cups. I noticed that some of the other guys were carry around lighted cups but I suppose that was probably from upstairs. I had a great time here and would definitely love to stop by again in the near future.
