BLT Steak offers a variety of cuts of USDA Prime, Certified Black Angus and American Wagyu beef, each naturally aged for maximum tenderness and flavor and served with herb butter in a cast-​iron pan. In addition to seasonal blackboard specials, the menu also offers fresh fish including Sautéed Dover Sole and Tuna Tartare with avocado and soy-​lime dressing. Decent but very overpriced.

After a long day of travel, my colleague and I decided to stay in and try out BLT Steak, the Atlanta W Hotel’s in-​house restaurant. I had the Braised Short Ribs and Loaded Baked Potato, she had the Dover Sole. While the food was ok, our bill was almost $ 100 before tip, which is about what I’d expect for a serious steakhouse of much higher quality.
Everyone knows that you pay a premium/​quasi-​convenience fee for hotel restaurants, but with Atlanta’s up-​and-​coming food scene, there are hundreds of other places where $ 100 would be better spent.

Just terrible. Love steakhouses. Went two nights in a row because we were staying at W Hotel. First night steaks over cooked. Second night burger over cooked. Also the restaurant was empty. No wonder.

Brandice, Trae and I first ate here on the Saturday following Thanksgiving. The food was amazing, well prepared and beautifully plated. Brandi and I returned to the W Hotel for a quick Post-​Holidays get away. We chose BLT Steak for breakfast this morning. Brandi had an omelette with ham, cheddar and tomato. I had the W Benedict. Both were served with breakfast potatoes, a crusted tomato and greens. I highly recommend the W Benedict. The fried green tomato on grilled ham with a poached egg and cayenne hollandaise was scrumptious.
The atmosphere is nice and service has been great both times. Value is on par with what one would expect of a restaurant of this quality. I will come back and would recommend to anyone.

I ordered the hangar steak rare and it was delicious.
I have Celiac and ordered asparagus as a side, instead of french fries.
They brought my steak out with a roquefort sauce and I asked if it was gluten-​free, since I have Celiac. The waiter went and «checked» and came back and said «[I] should be good».
I proceeded to eat a bunch of the sauce and a while later the host came by and mentioned that whoever has Celiac disease at the table can’t eat the sauce.
What?! This kind of move is extremely dangerous. I would not recommend BLT to anyone with dietary restrictions. Especially for a more upscale venue (which tend to be accommodating), BLT was very casual about my restriction and just answered with lies to questions I had.

Great food and great service. Our server was knowledgable and the chef continued to send out treats on the house! I had the lemon rosemary chicken with macaroni and cheese. It was all great. My date had the steak and potatoes, which was just as good.

I went there because they were partnering with no child hungry campaign, but unfortunately they were doing that next month and there was a mishap in marketing. Regardless, we stayed and I’m so glad we did. Due to the mishap we were given a free appetizer, free dessert, and free cappuccino. This is why it’s worth it to go to an upscale restaurant. The service was impeccable, to the degree that the owner and chef can’t and apologized to my girlfriend and I. I was blown away.
Onto the food, INCREDIBLE. The appetizer was off a special chef’s menu. It was heirloom tomatoes with whipped roccatta and herbs. It was absolutely breath taking. I highly suggest taking a chance on the chef’s menu for at least one course of your meal. For the main course I had the rib eye and my girlfriend had the filet mignon. Both steaks were cooked to perfection, with a little char for taste. The grits and everything baked potato were stellar and the caramel cheesecake was the perfect finish. I wanted a special dinner for my girlfriend and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend.

I’ve been here more times than I care to admit.
I’ve always found the food quite solid, although the prices seem like they were also airlifted from New York.
Usually brightly lit, I feel like this place is frequently understaffed — if they actually had a full weekday night they would be crushed.
That being said, I enjoy the menu.
The popovers and bar snacks are tasty, decent beer selection
The Chinese five spice chicken salad is hardly authentic (the goopy sauce is a bit much) but still very tasty — 4 stars
The lobster Cobb has very generous portions and is always delicious. 5 stars
Tuna tartare is great.
Ribeye — excellent, served in a cast iron pan. Great seat, wish it was a little warmer or popping when I got it, but amazingly easy to slice thorough.
Sides are good but always strike me as extremely expensive at 10 bucks. For asparagus? Really?

Been here 3 nights in a row, connected to the W hotel. First night had the warm spinach n bacon salad, large portion very good! Had the best mac n cheese n bacon ever! Phil the bartender is the shiz! Very attentive, very friendly, very single! Second night, had the burger, added bacon was good. Came back for 3rd night had garlic heirloom salad and round 2 of mac n cheese (once again not disappointed). Ordered 3 desserts, cheesecake, n ginger ice cream n carrot cake, pb n chocolate parfait with banana Ice cream. All three were orgasmic were in amazing! See phil at the bar and tell him Cali said hi!

I had a business lunch here Friday. BLT is in the W Hotel. Valet parking. Not too crowded. Modern interior.
Not as clubby as BLT in DC. (It’s originally from NYC; haven’t tried it there.)
The hamburger is absolutely terrific. Huge. Medium rare. Blue cheese and caramelized onions on top. Accompanied by fries. And it is terrific. I can’t remember last time I’ve had a hamburger this good.

So just in case no one has mentioned it, if you’re a cheap person don’t come here. If you’re use to cheap fast food don’t dine here either. Yes the food is pricey, yes it’s upscale. But they have a great menu selection that will satisfy you.
Staff is always polite, and always on point with the silverware placement.
One thing I will say is that if you hate the air conditioning please bring a sweater, they keep the restaurant chilled.

I was surprised, I mean surprised that this place actually was AOK. Clearly my expectations we’re low but the breakfast was good: eggs farm fresh, grilled tomatoes with pesto zest. All delicious. Service was easy slick which I appreciated on a Sunday morning.

Located in the lobby of the downtown W hotel, BLT Steak claims to offer a superior upper-​tier dining experience with fine food.
The décor although contemporary, lacks the wow hip factor of similar establishments.
Service wise; there is an attempt to be formal; but when it is done in a snobbish insincere way, it is perceived as trailer park trash politeness. For example, asking if we had a reservation and the restaurant is empty lol. I understand it may be in the hostess script training guide, but the staff should use common sense. Furthermore, servers are sometimes trying too hard to be classy but their demeanor and message is delivered the wrong way and it is way too noticeable. Being Down to earth and hospitable goes a long way; especially since the menu is priced on the high side but doesn’t match the service delivery to justify it.
Now if we forget about all that; the snobbish and curt wait staff and the fact that the service delivery experience is truly not upper-​tier (menu prices are, so the expectation is set high); the food on the other hand is excellent, truly. That’s why BLT still earns the three stars.
For dinner, the steaks are amazing and cooked to perfection. Ceviche and lobster mac n cheese are very memorable. For lunch, the burgers are excellent and the matchstick fries and salads were equally great.
They have a nice and heavenly popped bun that is served with foie gras at dinner which comes with a take-​home finger size booklet containing the recipe to make it at home; nice touch.

I went here on a business lunch with one of our carriers that we work with.
Started off the night with the BLT Mule cocktail, which was very interesting. Some kind of vodka, lime juice, and ginger beer all made for a very refreshing and tasty combination. I liked it so much that I went ahead and got another after finishing my first.
We got the seafood platter for the appetizer, which included an assortment of various oysters, clams, lobster, tuna tartare. Everything was fresh and tasty but the clams had a little sand in them. My favorite was the oysters which had a really nice tasting brine and the lobster.
My main course was the 22 oz bone in rib eye cooked medium rare with some accoutrements that were shared among our party including BBQ corn, garlic mashed potatoes, and grilled asparagus. The steak was flavored quite nicely with the herbed butter and the Béarnaise sauce went perfectly with each tender morsel. My only complaint was that my meat was a bit too charred, which caused a burnt taste in parts of the steak.
For dessert we all ordered the «special of the day» which was an ice cream sandwich with chocolate chip cookies as the buns. We ended up waiting 20+ minutes and it never came until the owner came to our table and stated that the ice cream was not up to par that day and offered us an assortment of popular options on the dessert menu to try, all on the house. Everything was good but we were all still a bit disappointed.
Service was basically on point and our waiter was attentive and helpful throughout the meal.
Overall a solid dining experience.

Stopped by for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the lobster salad and gnocchi parmesan. The food was a bit overpriced, but I enjoyed the large chunks of lobster in my salad. The gnocchi on the other hand was not that great. It was a bit bland and pretty small in portion. The coolest things about this place is that they have a raw bar with clams, oysters, lobster, etc. in the center of the restaurant. If I were to go to BLT again, I would have to order something from the raw bar. Otherwise, great ambiance and dining experience.

Where do I start?
I was worried that when my friend and I came down from our room at the W Atlanta Downtown that we’d be turned away for not having a reservation. I had a fear of that because not only was it certainly dinnertime… there was also at least one convention going on and there seemed to be a lot of people in the restaurant.
Not only did we get seated straight away, we had the most delightful server (I believe he was named David). After a few minutes with the menu, my friend and I had questions regarding the prix-​fixe menu they were offering that evening. He answered all our questions and after we each ordered our selections from that menu (instead of the standard, everyday available ones) — complete with wine flight for each of us — we were delivered a popover.
OMG.
The popover, people. This popover was amazing — just the right about of flake and butteriness, and cheese content without being greasy cheesy. Additionally, there was a paté served (chicken, if I recall correctly) that was just… out of this world.
Our mains were just fish and steak (steak for her, fish for me), and my absolute favorite part there was definitely the chimichurri sauce followed by the fried okra that we each had chose as a side. Now, it wasn’t super spectacular when we got it at the table — in fact we both thought it was kind of blah. But when we ate it as cold leftovers the next day, it just became a perfect fusion of flavours.
Would I go here again? ABSOLUTELY.
Would I stay at the hotel again? NO WAY.

Not wanting to have mediocre meal at the airport or munch on salty airplane snacks, we came here for a late lunch. Being a visitor of Atlanta, I was not aware that finding a proper sit down good lunch spot in downtown area during late afternoon, on a weekend was nearly impossible.
BLT was still offering lunch menu past 2pm. Thank goodness.
The food was familiar and executed well. We liked the complimentary popovers (printed reciped included!). The setting is elegant, paired with wonderful service… all this allowed us to calmly enjoy our last hour with our dear friend and host. The host/​manager even came to chat with us briefly. Nice touch.

Yummmm! My filet mignon was generously seasoned and perfectly seared, and the Gruyère popovers were a nice touch. The sticky toffee pudding was a bit of a miss, but the table enjoyed the complimentary chocolate petits fours! They were very accommodating to our constantly expanding group of colleagues, pulling over tables and making sure food was delivered quickly.

Bacon Chimi — charred to perfection. These salty large slabs are topped with herbs and soaked in lemon. A must have!
Pop Over — Cheesy puffy heaven! Add butter and melt away.
SALADS
Lobster Salad — delicious! Big chunks of lobster with bacon and avocado, bits. Could use less lettuce and more hearty parts.

Very good restaurant; I love the veggies here.
Service is pleasant and the maitre’d is excellent. He makes a point of ensuring everything is up to specs. I say pleasant, but the kitchen is a little slow and somewhat haphazard as you can tell if you keep an eye on things.
The food is decent if a little amateur. I had the miso-​glazed alaskan cod, which was a mess of miso sauce but the fish was cooked fairly well and deboned correctly. Another night I had the salmon and that was presented and prepped much better.
I thought the sides were STELLAR. I had brussel sprouts and the hen-​of-​the-​woods mushrooms, both sans butter, and they executed these perfectly. If I were them, I’d knock down the price of the sides a buck or two, since they may seem imposing to some folks but really make the meal in some ways. Oh, and they’re served in a little cast-​iron skillets which is tres Southern.
I started with a vegetable chopped salad, which I’d recommend over the other oily green starters. It’s a great mix of greens that are all very fresh and layers in a nice mix of textures.
The raw bar is a little weak, as you can tell when you walk in. If you want to do raw fish, crustaceans, or bivalves for our science crowd, check out Umi or Sushi House Hayakawa. :)
There is a fairly comfortable «drink» bar scene, and their alcohol list is good. There is complimentary bread and a little petits cookie on your way out, which is a stab at French cuisine, no pun intended considering this is a steakhouse.
