Buckhead Dental Associates is the place to go for both routine and cosmetic dental work. Dr. Meyerson is the best. Very patient, gentle and knowledgable. I’m completely freaked out by the idea of going to the dentist but coming here is like a walk in the park.

After trying many dentists in Atlanta, I am so happy with Dr. Shannon Thorsteinson. She made me feel so comfortable with my treatment and down to earth with her explanations. Natalie was my hygienist, and talked about what she was doing every step and how I could better take care of my teeth. Dr. Thorsteinson does sedation, which really helps if you are nervous about the dentist. I would recommend her and this practice to anyone. The staff is great and courteous, making it a stress free experience.

We were using another dentist in Buckhead, but decided to switch after so-​so to inexcusably bad experiences over the past year. Dr. Weinmann’s and his team’s level of professionalism, ability to connect with and listen to the patient, and attention to details makes the other dentist seem archaic and almost third-​worldish. The office atmosphere is not a deal-​breaker for us, but this office is the icing on the cake. More like a spa than a dentist’s office — and very accessible location. The entire experience exceeded our expectations in every way!

Beautiful office. I use Jason Myerson DMD. He is great. He takes his time with you and is very informative. I would highly recommend Buckhead Dental if you are in need of a new dentist!

I have been going to Buckhead Dental for 3 years and love it! My dental hygienist is Lesley and my dentist is Dr. Myerson– both are great!
Buckhead Dental is offering a cheaper form of Invisalign called Smart Moves, it’s for people who have minor tooth movement. I made the mistake of not wearing my retainer after years of braces, so I now I have two teeth I am trying put back in place. Smart Moves ranges from $ 500 to $ 1,000 — a lot cheaper than Invisalgin.
I went for my mouth molds today — but will keep you posted with the progress!

This is a 3.5 star review. I initially had it at 3 but bumped it up to 4 just because I was mostly happy with the results if not the experience.
Right off, I will say that their referral program is great — say someone referred you (I would be happy to fill this role for you if you like) and get $ 25 off, and the referrer gets $ 25 off. They also have 7:30 AM appointments and got me in the next business day after my phone call.
Beyond that, I think the experience here varies greatly based on the dentist and the technician you get. And my usual disclaimer, this is a health provider review, possible TMI alert.
I have little incentive to go to the dentist on a regular basis. I have a slight phobia probably originating in my mother’s extreme phobia, which led her to take me to the dentist all of once during my entire childhood. She herself has not been since before I was born. I have mitral vale prolapse, which requires you to take antibiotics before dental work although it’s really not clear to me why. Plus, I have never had a cavity so I haven’t really felt the threat of consequence for not going. I don’t floss but I brush with sonicare (which means I spend 24 hours a year brushing my teeth!), and that feels dental enough for me.
This time I grudgingly got around to making an appointment because I was having widespread gum pain in my lower right molar area. Oh, this is it, I thought to myself. I’ve finally got what’s coming to me in the form of cavities or gingivitis or some complication from my wisdom tooth removal ten years ago or mouth cancer or something else horrific.
They scheduled me the next day for a dental exam but not a cleaning because they didn’t have anyone available — they scheduled the cleaning for the following Monday. That’s a little inefficient, but just fine for me because the 7:30 appointment slot allows me to miss less of my workday. It turned out to be moot because they were able to do the cleaning anyway.
The assistant did my bitewing x-​rays, which pretty much almost made me puke. She told me to look out the window and focus on something. It didn’t work and my gag reflex took over again, and she sort of jokingly chastised me, «you’re not looking out the window!» This annoyed me because SHE WAS BLOCKING THE DARN WINDOW during the process. Also, to the extent that my gagging was due to nerves, she seemed a little impatient with my phobia.
The dentist was warm and not overly pushy. Initially, he seemed to pay an unexpected amount of attention to my medical history, my penicillin allergy in particular. But that’s ok, I love talking about myself (for the most part) and pontificating about whether or not my medicine allergies are real or fake.
During the exam he found nothing that should be causing me gum pain. Frustrating, but a relief that I didn’t have something horrible. He said it was probably muscle pain and I should take advil for it. I still don’t accept this explanation because this pain is decidedly in my gums. But it is going away by itself, so I guess he was right about that part.
Then he looked at my teeth and said HE THOUGHT HE SAW TWO CAVITIES, and told me that they were in the spot where people usually get their first cavities. He told me it wasn’t anything that I had done wrong. Small comfort, when I find pretty much every mouth-​related procedure extremely unpleasant.
Onto the cleaning. First, the tech prodded me and yelled a bunch of numbers which apparently has something to do with your gums separating from your teeth (gross!). I kept insisting that my gums hurt terribly when she poked at that part, and she said that there really wasn’t any inflammation or gingivitis there. Then she put the camera in my mouth and I was forced to look at my teeth from various heretofore unknown angles (grosser!). But she said I didn’t actually have any cavities, so I was relieved and just a tiny bit bitter that the dentist had gotten me all scared about it.
Because I can’t stand the scraping, she used some ultrasonic device instead, which was AWESOME. Then she sprayed some sort of salt baking soda thing for polishing, which was HORRIBLE. I kept needing to swallow and gagging and choking. Then she unsurprisingly told me to floss more, and tried to show me a way to floss behind my permanent retainer without using one of those threader things. This ultimately proved ineffective when I tried to do it.
The low point of the entire thing was when she insulted my orthodonture and told me that the orthodontist had made my teeth look great, but I still had a crossbite and should probably get a consultation about it. She went on and on and on about this until finally I had to say to her «I really can’t deal with this right now.»
The main reason I’m going with four stars instead of three is because I have flossed consistently twice a day since the appointment. I’m really not sure why, because no other dental appointment has inspired this.

I hadn’t been to the dentist in a while, and I was dreading this visit. It was my first time here, and I know I made the right choice.
They are completely up to date with technology, and it makes the process so much better. What would have been a long, awful scraping took not even half the time with their equipment. They were friendly, affordable, and trustable.

A quick note – I think their office has moved, because I read the other reviews and it’s still the same dentists and practice, but the address now is 3490 Piedmont.
This was the best dentist visit I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a LOT. I don’t need to bore you wtih my entire dental history, but to give you the picture, I’m 22 and I’ve had 2 root canals. So when I was filling out the new patient questionaire and it asked me «Do you fear dentistry?» I sort of chuckled to myself, but the truth is yes. I do. I’m afraid of dentists who want to make money off of me and tell me I need much more serious work done than is necessary. And I’m afraid of dentists who want to make me feel bad and accuse me of not flossing enough (I floss every day, thank you very much). And while I can deal with needles in my mouth, a drill vibrating my head and a sore jaw for a few hours after a filling, I can’t deal with the fact that I seriously think my old dentist might have messed up my mouth with excessive and possibly unnecessary dental work, i.e., I never had pain before I went to her, and now I have terrible cold sensitivity. I don’t want to associate that reclining chair with impending doom, but the association is there nonetheless.
None of those things happened at Buckhead Dental. I wish I remembered the name of my hygienist because she was awesome. I’m not usually one for conversation in this type of situation from but she was just so pleasant and not annoying at all. And she was super gentle. She made me forget my insecurities about all the work I’ve had done and told me my mouth was incredibly clean and I made her job easy. The dentist himself was also very down to earth and up front about everything. We looked at my x-​rays together (they were to the side of the chair, not behind like in my old dentist’s office where I couldn’t see them), and he explained what they meant and what we might need to watch, and what I could choose or choose not to have done. And he told me in spite of all the fillings, my mouth was still very pretty, and upon looking at my front teeth he never would’ve guessed all that stuff was going on in the back. This is not someone just trying to make a fortune off of unsuspecting patients.
They also have a cool policy – if you refer someone, both you and they get $ 25 off.

They were my dentist for about 5 years, and I gotta say, I have found better since. Now if you’re one of those who can go all year long without flossing, and try and catch up the week before with no problems, awesome! Good for you!!! Go see this dentist, or any dentist really, cuz you’re gonna be fine no matter what.
However, if you’re like me, who can’t skip a day of flossing without noticing, has to have the correct rotary toothbrush, must use sensitive toothpaste, and not to mention that tartar control mouthwash… you might want to choose your dentist more wisely. Buckhead Dental Associates — swanky offices, great stellar views of the Lenox area, and up-​to-​date equipment — just a snazzy place overall. The expertise in the dental areas… err… not so great after all!
They couldn’t figure out what was the issue with my gumline after multiple routine visits, so they sent me to a periodontist to have my gumline lasered down to try and fix the problem. This didn’t work, and after my gums were burned down in the process, I decided it was best to try and find a new dentist, which was in fact, the best move I made! As it turned out, that procedure was unnecessary, and in one quick visit to a new dentist, my problem of 30 years was fixed in an hour! 5 years I wasted with these guys, trusting that they could fix my ailments. Not a chance!
After visiting that place, I have a hard time recommending it to anyone who has any problems with their teeth. They just don’t have the expertise to really find out what is ailing you, so why make your life hell and waste your time? Go see someone whose qualifications meet your expectations. These guys won’t measure up…

I recently moved to Atlanta from Beverly Hills and began my search for a dentist when I began experiencing pain in one of my molars.
It was pure luck when I found Buckhead Dental Associates (thank god for google).
Not only is the office nice and clean with state-​of-​the-​art equipment, but the staff is extremely kind, efficient, and sensitive.
The dentist that worked on me was the young and very personable Dr. Jason Myerson. I couldn’t have asked for better. He’s fabulously gentle with the novocaine shots. I didn’t shed one tear when he administered the shots. He’s fast and, again, efficient.
Anyone that is looking for a gentle team of dentists, come here.
The prices are also competitive, and not expensive.
