Buckhead Dental Care

Great office, staff, hygienist, assistant and dentist. Everyone is up to par. Office has a great location in Buckhead and is clean and well organized. As a chiropractor, I found Dr. King through an existing patient and I really liked her approach on biting and TMJ problems. I am now going regularlyfor different sort of cleaning or maintenance work and I refer her all my patients and friends in need of a good dentist.

I could not be more pleased with Dr. King’s staff or her care. Like reviewer Gabrielle S., I too found Dr. King in a search for holistic dentistry, with the hope of getting my amalgam fillings replaced and healing a couple of back teeth that had been giving me trouble for quite some time. Gabrielle was my referral, and I’m so grateful she took the time to write her review.
Since last fall, I’ve had the following work done by Dr. King:
— several amalgams removed and replaced with composite.

MAKING APPOINTMENTS: I called to make an appointment while I was on my lunch break one day. I’ll never forget how kindly and comprehensively the office coordinator, Anne, treated me as she answered all of my many questions. I didn’t feel rushed or patronized. For the first time in my life, I felt confident and excited to go to the dentist. I was able to get an appointment for exactly when I wanted at a time that worked perfectly. Sometimes Susan works the front desk, too, and she is very friendly and helpful.
WAIT TIMES: I’ve since been the office over a dozen times, and I have NEVER had a wait. They’re always cheerfully expecting me, and I don’t even have to wait in the chair for the dentist! If anything, they’re waiting on me because of Buckhead traffic… eek!
OFFICE: It’s on the 3^rd floor of a building next to Brio restaurant on Peachtree Road. The front waiting area is small but impeccably clean & furnished. There are the requisite magazines and an interesting book of Dr. King’s past patients’ case studies.
FIRST CONSULT: My first visit was excellent. With the assistance of her capabale staff (Hilary or Ashley, both great), Dr. King took a full suite of x-​rays and sat down with me for an extended consultation. She spoke about dentistry, jaw structure, and the movement of my teeth and bite in a way that no dentist has ever cared to in the past. It is clear she is passionate about her work and about doing sound, lasting work in a holistic manner.
AMALGAM REPLACEMENTS: Dr. King takes utmost care with almagam removal. We all wear glasses, coverings, and a suction tube is used to catch any vapour as it is removed.
ROUTINE FILLINGS: Fillings are easy, quick, and painless. The last time my cavities were so minor she was able to do them without numbing! And when she does have to numb, I barely feel it. Doesn’t hurt that the numbing swab they use comes in a variety of silly, candy-​like flavors. :-)
CLEANINGS: I think my dental hygienist, Jessica, rocks. She is friendly, fast, and careful. Last time I didn’t have too much to «clean» so she focused on a gentle whitening treatment. Dental hygienist Natasha works on my partner, who has always had a great experience. He even had the dreaded «full mouth debridement», and said Natasha did everything she could to lessen the discomfort.
REFERRALS: One of the best aspects of being one of Dr. King’s patients is knowing that you’re not just HER patient. She has surrounded herself with a community of knowledgeable specialists for referrals. If you need a root canal or implant, she knows exactly who to send you to. And let me tell you, these guys are the extraordinary.
PRICES: Finally, Buckhead Dental Care’s prices are competitive, fair, and a great value for what you get. No wait, expert care, great support staff, friendly front office, ease of making appointments, sturdy work, holistic temperament, and fantastic referrals.
INSURANCE PROCESSING: I have insurance through Aetna and the process has always been incredibly easy. If you have insurance, the way it will work is that you’ll pay up-​front for the whole procedure at the end of your visit. (And they’ll *always* tell you the cost before you have anything done, so don’t be afraid to ask!) After you pay, Anne, the office coordinator, does same-​day billing to your insurance company. Yeah, she’s quick! In my case, it usually took about a week or two for me to get a check from Aetna by mail. I get a check in the mail for my portion of the reimbursement (in routine procedures (cleaning, consult, fillings), I got full reimbursement; in amalgam replacements, about 80%; in advanced work, about 60%). And this is AFTER the fact that BDC is an out-​of-​network provider!

I found Dr. Deborah King in a search for holistic dentistry, with the goal of having my final two amalgam (containing mercury) fillings replaced in a responsible fashion, and am thrilled I found her!
She replaced both of my fillings, with dental dam in place to catch any metals from the fillings, and a vapor catcher as well (most impressive, and my previous dentist did not take any such precautions when replacing two other fillings!). I also had my teeth cleaned, and I can say I love her staff. Everyone is so nice and accommodating, there was no waiting, and the overall experience was one of the best I’ve had at a dental clinic.
I had three visits total, the first for consult, X-​rays and cleaning, the other two for fillings replacements, one at a time, and trust I will be seeing her and her staff for future dental care and cleanings. I could not recommend Buckhead Dental Care, and Dr. King more highly.

I found this dentist from a Groupon last year that got me a great deal for a checkup and cleaning. No one likes going to the dentist (hence only being able to give 4 stars) but Buckhead Dental group made me feel really comfortable and made this daunting experience more pleasant than I expected.
Dr. Debbie is really nice and explains what’s going on with your health in a way you can understand. The hygienist was exceptional — she taught me the proper way to care for my teeth and didn’t hurt me when doing my cleaning. Plus anyone that wears denim scrubs is okay in my book. Anne at the front desk is also very helpful, calling to remind me of appointments and giving me good directions (their address is not found in the GPS, you need to put in Brio restaurant instead).
The office is easy to find and parking is easily accessible (and free). The setting is clean and comfortable and you never have to wait long if you’re on time for your appointment. I was in and out on my second visit for a small filling and it didn’t break my bank account either. I’m really glad I found them and will continue to see them on a regular basis.
