Cachet Jewelers is a rare gem in an industry where it is becoming increasingly difficult to find exceptional customer service. This jewelry store is run by a man and his son that have been in the business for 27 years. My husband and I happened upon this pace in search of a 10 year anniversary band. The warm welcome and incredible knowledge of Ben the owner immediately put us at ease. Everything is custom made and we are so happy with our purchase. The customer service is simply unprecedented! I came to Ben as a new customer just driving by the store. I have several very old, sentimental pieces that have been needing repair for years. I stopped by many different jewelers looking to have my items repaired. All of those other jewelers were terrible. They either remarked that some of my stones were synthetic and would not even try to work on them or make a recommendation, or they were just out right snobby to me. Ben, on the other hand, treated me with respect and so much care. He understood my antique jewelry and the fact that many missing stones had been replaced with synthetics over a long history. He made great recommendations and was able to have all of my pieces repaired. The turn around time and the pricing was amazing! I will trust all of my repairs (as well as my soon to be future purchases!) to Cachet. I cannot even explain how thrilled I am with these repairs. He took something that was so meaningful to me and treated my items as if they were his own pieces.

We have been going to Ben for years. When we were talking about getting engaged a friend recommended Ben and Cachet Jewelry and we went down one Saturday in 1995. We never looked back. All my special presents come from Ben and I receive so many compliments. Ben and his family are wonderful to deal with and it is always a pleasure to visit the store.

My (now) husband used Cachet Fine Jewelry for his purchase of my engagement ring and wedding band. I also purchased my husband’s wedding band from Ben. Throughout the process, my husband felt that he was immensely helped by Ben in figuring out more about diamonds and ring quality. He picked a beautiful ring for me with a band that was made to fit right with the ring, and they have always been wonderful and are beautiful. We went through needed my rings re-​sized, needing my engagement band reshaped (I dented the platinum from a blow to the hand), and needing appraisals re-​done. Ben (and Cachet staff) did all of this for us with speed excellence, and did not charge me extra (which was wonderful for us as college students). I’m not allowed to dent my ring again though ;] haha. My husband’s band is beautiful and looks great even though I could not afford the higher priced metals. We have always loved going in to see Ben at Cachet. He always makes us feel welcomed, always cleans my rings, and talks with us for a while. All of his jewelry is truly beautiful and his prices are really good/​comparable to the big jewelry dealers who don’t help you or care about you like Ben does. Ben provides a great quality in his work, jewelry and customer service.

VERY CONFLICTED. I can’t in good conscience recommend this company to any customer who holds an expectation of being treated honestly and fairly throughout a big ticket, hopefully once-​in-​a-​lifetime purchase. Here’s why:
There is no doubt about it – Ben’s shop makes exquisite pieces. [worthy of 5 stars on Unilocal]
There is also no doubt in my mind about something else: I feel like I got swindled. [why I’m giving them such a low rating]
I trusted Ben to craft an engagement ring/​wedding set. In the interest of full disclosure: I am an INCREDIBLY particular customer and I am exceedingly careful and thorough when it comes to big ticket purchases. At the start, Ben walked me through the process and spent many hours on the phone, walking me through the intricacies of jewelry design and teaching me the art of the possible with the budget I was working with. It is important to note that AS SOON AS payment was made, contact became MUCH more difficult. I digress… when I finally settled on a design, Ben researched and conducted feasibility assessments and later told me that he couldn’t incorporate the custom touch that I wanted because of metallurgical reasons — completely understandable. I’m not a jeweler. «Ok, I’ll modify the design…»
Ben told me that he couldn’t engrave the message that I wanted to inscribe on the inside of the shank because it was too long of an inscription — makes sense, we are working with a finite amount of space. «Of course we can shorten the message»…and effectively split what was intended for the engagement ring alone, across both the engagement and wedding bands…
And then I receive the rings… it looks like someone dragged a red crayon over the engravings. And guess what, I was told that I couldn’t have the message I wanted inscribed because there wasn’t enough space on the shank. Specifically, I was told that there wasn’t enough space where there was adequate metal in the shank because there were diamonds inset on the band. Once I received the rings, however, over half of the inscription was laid in the shank below inset diamonds. [WTH?] And there was CERTAINLY room for both rings to be inscribed with the messages that I wanted.
When I queried Ben about it, he said that he could re-​do the rings and give me WHAT I ORIGINALLY ASKED FOR… for an additional $ 2200. How something that was ‘impossible’ four months prior was now possible (just for more money) completely escapes me. If the ring wasn’t made to my specifications, I see that as the jewelers issue and I would have expected a shop with a reputation as sound as Cachet’s to want to ensure that all of their pieces are made to the company’s best effort and to the customer’s most exacting specifications (especially if agreed to beforehand).
Add to that the fact that Ben told me the ring would appraise for $ 22k, but appraised for $ 13k…I spent $ 10k on my rings so while I still received a great value, it was definitely sold to me to be something much different from what it was. I received a beautiful ring set, no doubt. But… I’m definitely not feeling like a customer who was fed the truth throughout the purchase process. I don’t fit what I would presume is the mold for the clientele Cachet normally caters to. I am a military officer coming up on 14 years of service; $ 10k is a lot of money to me.
I have asked Ben to make it right and simply inscribe the message I wanted in my engagement and wedding rings… but he has consistently ducked my phone calls and emails.
I’d be very wary if I were you. You are certain to get a beautiful piece if you buy from Cachet… but you are also bound to be swindled by someone that you will inevitably grow to trust and like (that’s what bothers me the most).

First of all, Ben and his team provide a «wow experience» for their customers. They give you their undivided attention, provide you with yummy snacks and drinks, and just make you feel 100% comfortable because of how genuine they are. When you come they will not try to force you to buy anything, nor will they stalk you after you leave the store and call you one million times like other places we went to. The jewelry they have is of the finest quality and they believe in what they sell! Also, what’s great about Cachet is Ben will allow you to customize your own piece.
