Cactus Car Wash

I think that the quality if service that has always been provided by Cactus Carwash has been too of the line! However, I feel like since the management has changed that service level isn’t what is used to be. Not that it’s bad, just a little different. I still will be using them and think that they do quality work. Tip: when you are leaving I would request no deodorizer for your car, I think that it always smells WAY too strong!

I took my car there last Wed. only to be up sold by the woman in taking the cars. I took her up on the special but let her know that I had serious time constraints. 2 hours later, I checked on my car & one of the employees told me another 45 mins. I inspected my car, and to my dismay, my personal items had been literally dumped into the trunk without ANY regard. The inside had not been wiped down and the car was dirty! This place is a ripoff, they do a sloppy and careless job.

Now called Mister Car Wash. Small increase in prices, probably to cover the renovations inside and free coffee and popcorn. Same great, fast service though.

For the record, this place isn’t Cactus Car Wash anymore — it’s now Mister Hotshine. This change looks like it only took place in the last few months, and they’re still renovating the place. Cactus used to have a sign with their most popular car wash packages, including their cheapest. Now there isn’t one, so they can hand you a menu, where the cheapest service is $ 14. (Was cheaper with Cactus.) The woman at the front was upselling me pretty hard, suggesting that if I didn’t get their more expensive service I was going to lose my paint job. Both times I’ve been there, she’s also asked «we’re not busy right now, so would you like to [have a more expensive service done]?» Thanks, but no thanks. No Mercedes here. You get the feeling you’re being ripped off as soon as she starts talking.
Otherwise, service was efficient, polite and effective.

A few weeks ago I took my little car in to get detailed. I had the seats shampooed, so it was around $ 65. It took 45 minutes to complete the service, which was awesome! Unfortunately, when I got home I realized that my rear car mat was missing. When I called the front desk, they transferred me to the detail area where the manager said he’d look for my mat and call me back. The guy told me that they sometimes throw «lost» car mats out after they’ve been held for multiple weeks-​which made no sense, it had only been a day. The man asked me if I was sure that the mat wasn’t still in the car-​Uh NO, I’m pretty sure it’s not there. He told me that he would look in some other places for the mat, had me describe the mat and took my number down. That was the last I’ve heard from them.
Almost a month later, I am still trying to contact someone to replace my car mat. I’ve called the front desk multiple times and left messages. The girl at the front desk told me that they had recently switched management. No one has returned my calls in weeks, and I still have no car mat.
The service itself was fine, but the customer service after my car mat was lost is extremely frustrating. I will NOT be returning.

Sloppy work here. The renovation and painting inside is a disaster!!!

So I usually go to Avrils car wash and I am very happy with them (20 $ indide and out, hand wash, always good, free wifi…). But this Sunday, they were closed because it rained pretty much all weekend. To make this story even longer, I desperately needed to have my car washed and detailed so I decided to go to cactus. I paid 80 for wash and deluxe interior detail.
Things I like:
— very efficient check in and billing
— free Wifi (though not working while I was there)
— free coffee
— waiting area
— they did a good job with my car inside and out, I got what I paid for.
The thing that made them stand out was this: a few month ago I got to my car in the morning and noticed a small red ding in the door because a thoughtless, dickless a**hole banged his door into mine (btw — I know who you are and I’ve ben wishing you ill ever since!). Anyway, when I got home from Cactus and looked at the door I did not see the ding any more! It looks like Cactus got the red paint out to where it’s hardly noticable! Thanks guys!
The paint was damaged to begin with so I still need to have it fixed at some point, but still I’m impressed that someone went to the trouble of making it visually better.

I dont really maximize it because you can tell its big on entertaining people while their car is being washed/​detailed. Not having kids and entertaining myself on my phone means I don’t need their iPads or play place.
But as car wash they do a good job for a fair price. I haven’t done a detail with them yet because I typically detail my own car. Some day though I will find myself in need of a clean car and feel too lazy to do it myself, when that happens i will revise my review.

If you’re in the neighborhood and have a dirty car, Cactus will definitely get it clean for a reasonable price. I went here initially through my roommate’s suggestion, who said they were great and never had any problems. However, I found my experience to be sub-​par, so much so that I don’t know if I’ll return. The two stars are representative of the cleanliness of my car, not the customer service I received.
I only did an exterior wash and cleaned the interior myself to save some money. I have a brand new sedan (my first new car after selling my parent’s hand-​me-​down that got me through college) and admit I’m overprotective. I usually wash it myself, but the weather had been so bad and my car looked really dirty, I chose to use a machine wash this time.
I went on a cold weekday afternoon, and pulled in about 30 minutes before closing. I rode in my car through the wash instead of waiting in the lobby because this was my first time going here and my car’s first machine wash (again, I’m overprotective). Everything was fine when I pulled up, paid, and went through the actual wash process. However, I was behind an SUV where the driver had chosen to wait in the lobby instead of riding and the employees didn’t notice that car was almost done. I was still coming through the wash and knew I was going to hit that SUV unless they quickly moved it or I hit the brakes. Had the employees been paying attention, this whole situation could have been avoided; I could tell they initially timed our cars correctly.
I honked my horn to get the employees’ attention, and they all started yelling at each other. I realized that they weren’t going to move the SUV in time so I was forced to hit the brakes so my hood didn’t go under their rear bumper; I definitely didn’t want to damage their car because of Cactus’ negligence. My tires jumped while the machine tried to propel me forward and the yelling got louder; I know they said not to do this, but it felt like a better decision than rear-​ending the SUV, which was in the exact spot where my car would roll once I got out of the wash.
Between the yelling, horn and the clanking from the wash trying to move me forward, an employee eventually ran up to get the SUV out of the way. But it took him a good minute to move it because he was standing at the SUV’s driver door yelling at the other employees and holding up a finger telling me to wait. He finally pulled the car up to the drying station and I let my foot off the brakes to roll out of the wash.
The drying process went fine, they covered every inch of my car and it looked great. I got out and thoroughly inspected my car before leaving to make sure it everything was okay from the wash and debacle. Because it was so cold, I tipped the man who dried my car with all the cash I had. He took it, looked at how much it was and then gave me a disgusted look like I was stingy or something. I would have given him more if I could, but that was literally all the cash in my wallet at the time.
Thankfully, my car seems to be fine– no scratches/​dents/​dings, tire or alignment issues. Even though my car is under factory warranty, I would come back and insist Cactus pay for any repairs outside of what the dealership would cover because of their negligence. And, most importantly, it should be noted that a manager or other employee did not come up and apologize for this incident. My review would have been better if they hadn’t blatantly ignored the problem while drying my car. In some situations, the employees should know how to handle damage control and take initiative to apologize themselves and/​or call a manager. I’ve worked in customer service before and have been in this type of situation. It’s not comfortable, but necessary to keep customers happy.
I might go back because my car looked so good for days after the wash, but that’s only if I was desperate and in the area like I was last time. And I probably won’t get to a point where I trust them with my car and get to experience this nice waiting room everyone else is raving about.

This is where I go to get my car washed. I’m usually in and out in 20 minutes or less, and spend $ 20 or less.
In the waiting area they have comfortable chairs, ipads with Internet, a TV and a nice selection of magazines. Drinks and snacks as well (not complimentary).
The only reason they don’t get 5 stars is because sometimes when its really busy they rush and miss a few spots. No big thing… for $ 20 its a great deal.

I kind of can’t believe I haven’t written a review yet! I love Cactus and have used it for years. They do a great job on regular washes, but I’ve also used them for waxes and additional detailing. I recently bought some coupons via halfoffdepot, which are happily taken with ease.
They always do a great job and the waiting area with TVs, free internet, and a cappucino machine makes me happy.

Cactus is my go-​to spot to keep my ride shiny and looking new. It’s nice that the folks inside will let you get cash back if you forgot to bring money to tip with (and y’all better leave a good tip because they’ll remember you). After coming here for years, I can’t imagine going somewhere else where they’ll charge more. It’s hard to beat their prices and friendly service.
Also — if you opt for freshener — ya better really like the scent because it will linger in your car for 2 – 3 weeks.

This is my new, favorite car wash. Since I moved to Atlanta a few years ago, I’ve been looking for a wash that does good work but doesn’t charge an arm and a leg. Most of the washes by me start around $ 20 and go up from there.
When I drove by this place a couple of weeks ago, I saw lots of BMW’s, Lexus, Jags, and Range Rovers in the parking lot, so I figured it was an upscale wash with upscale prices. My Land Rover was filthy, so I did a quick google search when I got to the next stoplight and saw that their washes started at only $ 5.95 for express and $ 13.95 for inside & out. I was shocked! I did a u-​turn in the parking lot of a nearby business and headed in. The service is friendly, the inside is comfortable and inviting with their iPads for customer use, fireplace, and large TV. I grabbed a cranberry-​orange muffin from the coffee bar (yes, a coffee bar in a car wash… only in Atlanta), and had a seat. The muffin was DELICIOUS, and in only a few minutes I was being summoned over the loud speaker letting me know that my vehicle was ready.
I went outside to give it a quick inspection. They did a great job inside and out. The dash was clean, the outside was shiny, the wheels were clean, and the windows were spotless. I took my wife’s car the next day and with the exception of a few streaks on the back window, I had an identical experience. I just returned from Indianapolis last night and we had a huge snow storm. I’ve got salt all over the truck and the inside is a mess. As soon as I hit submit on this review, I’ll be heading over to put them to the test on this mess!

Speedy and courteous. Reasonable price. I’m a regular here. Best not to come on a Saturday, as they are jammed.

Cactus is a very convenient, fairly quick, mid to upper range car wash chain. This location has friendly staff and always does a really good job on my car. I recently got the express wax and was very satisfied with the results. Every car goes through the automatic washer and then gets towel dried and vacuumed. For the wax, or any detailing, they take the car back to the back garage and do everything by hand. They are a little pricey tho so beware. They have nice facilities, free wifi, iPads and magazines to amuse you while you wait (so you can write Unilocal reviews like me!!). Overall I would recommend, but it’s more of a splurge for me because it’s not very cheap. I am more likely to not get a car wash or go through the $ 10 wash at the gas station regularly than come here because of the price.

UPDATE: They have closed. Other businesses should take note… this is how it ends for you when you don’t have a single ounce of customer service or perform the service accurately and competently.

I expected so much more given the other reviews here. Let’s start with how annoying the up-​selling is before you even can get out of your car. I get trying to push services as a business model, but don’t over-​do it. When you stretch the truth so much in your sales pitch it’s no longer selling, it’s just lying, and when it’s so obvious that the customer can see right through it, it causes someone to reconsider doing business with you.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, I can’t tell you how rude and incompetent the lady at the front desk is. I walked up, there was no greeting at all, just an outreached hand to grab my ticket. I hesitated because I was looking to get a drink. I asked for a large coffee and with an eye roll, the bitc – employee made a small coffee for the price of a large. I guess it was my lucky day.
The actual work was kind of lazy. I paid for an interior detail. For the price I paid, I was very unhappy with the work. There were streaks and dust left on the dash and steering wheel column. After the experience with the «stellar» employees and seeing the lazy work they do here, I would not recommend this place to anyone else, nor will I be returning again.

This place is not cheap, but I’ve seen places that are more expensive around here so I guess its within reason. They have a cool $ 5.95 run thru which I like to do like once a week. It’s just the outside but they do the full towel dry and wheels and stuff. Then I’ll do like the inside/​outside less often. They generally do a good job with the cleaning and I haven’t had too many complaints except this one time when they were really busy and for reasons I still haven’t figured out, the guy was driving my car in circles around the place. I finally had to jump in front of my car to get him to stop. Strange right?
Anyway, it does get pretty busy here on nice days and before holidays so be prepared for that. I like to avoid crowds so I go in the afternoon. The wait time isn’t too bad even when it’s bsy though, they’re pretty efficient and have lots of employees.
They do seem to want to make sure you’re happy, before you drive off they ask if everything is okey. I assume if its not they’ll fix it for you. I’m usually too lazy to say anything at that point, not that I’ve found any major problems anyway.
So yeah you can probably find cheaper places or like the do it yourself place or whatever (which by the way isn’t such a deal coz I went there once and the dumb thing ate like $ 4 worth of my quarters and I was thinking this is so stupid, I could have done the run thru for like $ 2 more. Sometimes a deal isn’t a deal at all and you get what you pay for and value equals quality for less and a few other cliches, I can’t think of them all. The point is sure it costs a couple dollars more but its good quality and they do work hard at it usually.

Great Job, Great Place, Love it! It does take a little time to get in and out of here! But you’ll be very happy with the results.
Very expensive car wash! But worth it!

My poor Honda Civic had not been washed for probably 3 months and had accumulated a good layer of dust/​dirt — both inside and out… Since I was going to be in the area last Friday, I searched Unilocal for a good/​cheap car wash on Thursday night and found Cactus Car Wash.
Went in for the first time last Friday morning for their «Early Bird Special» — $ 2 off any Full Service Wash Package (Monday through Friday, 7 – 10 am — Excludes their cheaper Express Exterior washes).
I arrived around 9 am and, per Jenny H.‘s review, the guy who welcomed me and checked my car in told me that the Deluxe Wash ($ 19.95) was the «most popular» and he aggressively recommended it. When I declined and told him that I wanted the Full Service Wash ($ 13.95), he tried to scare me into choosing the Deluxe Wash (or at least the Special Wash for $ 17.95) because «the harsh soap will dissolve the wax and paint» on my car. He said the Full Service Wash is meant for people who wax their cars at home themselves (or some bull* like that). I had to tell him «no thanks» like 3 times before he got the picture that I wasn’t going for a more expensive package.
After the pressure to upgrade the car wash, I watched my car as it was run through the wash. Then, I proceeded to the cashier to pay. Per one of the other reviews, the two ladies at the cash registers were not friendly at all. No greeting, no smile. Not even a thank you after I paid. Geez, but whatever… On to the results of the car wash…
I waited probably less than 15 minutes for my car — which really blew me away because the car wash was SUPER busy (obviously, the $ 2 off for early birds works) and the lot where they dry and detail your car was packed! The Full Service Wash includes the exterior wash, hand dry, vacuuming of interior, cleaning both the inside and outside of the windows, and dusting of the dash, doors, and console. I was impressed! My car looked amazing, both inside and out — even considering there are so many tiny scratches and dings all over my car (thanks inconsiderate L.A. and ATL drivers =P).
The only thing I had to request was for them to dry the sides of my car below the side view mirrors again since water ALWAYS drips down from there after I get my car washed. Although at least 2 friendly guys worked on my car, I tipped the guy who handed me my keys back.
Overall, 4 stars for Cactus Car Wash — minus ½ star for the pressure to upgrade the wash, and another ½ star for the mean cashier ladies. Loved the car wash and will definitely be back another morning for the Full Service Wash ($ 11.95 + $ 2 tip = $ 13.95)!

Hearing about the $ 10.95 early bird special was just what I needed to get my gray-​looking car back to its original black. Yes, my car was that dirty. It’d been months since the last cleaning, mostly due to budgetary reasons but also just plain laziness.
So today I took advantage of their $ 10.95 early bird special available Mon-​Fri 7−10am, which includes wash exterior, hand dry, vacuum interior, clean windows inside & out, and dust dash, doors, & console. I arrived 9am and couldn’t believe how many cars were already there — I counted at least 13. I asked one of the guys about the wait and he said 25 minutes — I was thinking some of that time would be spent just waiting for all the cars in front of me but my car spent the entire 25 minutes being cleaned. I watched my car go thru the conveyor belt car wash and then I moved over to the large windows in the waiting room that give customers full view of everyone’s cars getting cleaned & vacuumed. What a great accountability system :)
I also checked out their spacious waiting area — nice flat screen TV, magazines, lots of seating, coffee bar & snacks, and computers (except I think only 2 of the 6 were working). I saw several customers on laptops so I’m guessing this place also has free WIFI.
And the final results? I don’t think I’d ever seen my car so sparkling clean, inside & out. They also did a fabulous job cleaning my dirty windows — it was like seeing ²⁰⁄₂₀ again for the first time. Honestly they did a super job making my car look brand-​new again. I’ll definitely be back.
