Dobbins Inn-Air Force Base

The Dobbins Inn is a great deal for staying in Atlanta If you meet the eligibility (active, reserve, or retired military). Comfortable, a bit Spartan, safe, and affordable ($ 60 a night), the accommodation is the perfect place to rest and relax. Furnished with a comfortable bed, desk/​chair, lounge chair, and television with basic cable, it is functional. Unlike a commercial hotel, the frills are minimal: no breakfast, no coffee in the lobby (but you have a coffee maker, fridge, and microwave in the room), and no gym on site. However, the base exchange (with Subway) is a little over a mile down the street, the Consolidated Club around the corner, and the base gym (unfortunately, it was closed for the holidays when I stayed).
Located in Marietta, right off of Cobb Highway and GA-​280, depending upon where your event/​business is located, you can either have a short or long commute. Traffic in Atlanta seems constant, similar to Los Angeles and Washington D.C., so plan your commutes accordingly.

* Facilities available on post: Exchange, fully loaded gym (M-​F 530‑1800), Consolidated Club, running trail
Con:
* If expecting the Ritz, you will be disappointed, but its comfortable
* Limited availability during Unit Training Activities (UTA or reserve training weekends)
* Limited amenities, but it has a microwave, and fridge, but see Pro
* Pets are NOT allowed in any of the buildings so unfortunately, you will have to stay elsewhere
Recommend making reservations early to ensure that you have a room available.
