Eastside is a two-​year-​old United Methodist startup church on the east side of metro Atlanta. We gather for worship each Sunday morning in an eclectic, urban, neighborhood of Atlanta named East Atlanta.

Our growing church is a resurrection movement of people living across metro Atlanta’s east side. We consist of new Christians, spiritual seekers, doubters, cradle Believers and many who have felt ostracized by both traditional and contemporary, liberal and conservative forms of the Christian faith. At Eastside Church we believe everyone has a seat at the Table regardless of their political affiliation, race, gender, sexual orientation, religious baggage, socioeconomic status, or where they happen to be on their journey with God.

History

Established in 2011.

Eastside Church is a new United Methodist Church plant worshipping in East Atlanta Village.

Have you been turned off by a past church experience? Have you always wished for an open forum where you could actually express your fears of God, the Church, and Christianity? Are you looking for a place of acceptance and love… a safe haven… a place to simply lay your head down and rest? Then Eastside Church is for you. Honestly, it’s the first time in my life where I actually look forward to going to worship each week and you Will too!

Friendly, Welcoming, and not phased by Weirdness.
If you’re weird and don’t fit in at most churches, if you feel like you’re not allowed to play in any reindeer games, if you don’t feel at home amid a host of 1000s listening to a sermon inside a gloried football stadium, perhaps Eastside is for you. It was for me. I’m an artist and have always found it difficult to connect with other Christians at church because of this. (Artists tend to follow a different life path than most) Eastside is open, friendly, and has a great arts initiative. Community centric and socially mind, they get the Tim Hand stamp of approval which, might I add, is not an easy thing to get.
