ABOUT:
free fab’rik is your new favorite thrift boutique! Imagine a high-end shopping experience with low-end price tags and racks full of incredible finds.
Our non-profit Community Boutique is filled with gently loved clothing donated by the community, for sale between $ 3 – 30. 100% of proceeds support our mission of restoring dignity, confidence and hope to young ladies who have lost theirs through free shopping sprees, mentorship, and retail training. Truly guilt-free shopping!
History
Established in 2009.
The free fab’rik non-profit organization was created in 2009, when two girlfriends sharing a glass of wine decided they had more blessings than they needed. Dana Spinola, owner and founder of fab’rik boutiques, had so many clothes her closet actually broke. Kim Fettig Bartlett, a local TV news anchor, was all too familiar with the economy that was falling apart that year. Dana and Kim devised a way for girls in need to experience the thrill of boutique shopping, but without the pressure of price tags. A few emails later, they had hundreds of bags of donated clothing and volunteers, and finding the teens was unfortunately just as easy.
These free shopping sprees were held in the fab’rik boutiques but soon outgrew that concept. On November 13, 2013, the free fab’rik Community Boutique opened. Now our organization can not only host ongoing free sprees but all of the boutique’s profits fund a training and mentorship program for ladies in the community who need a second chance.
