Not a good restaurant. There is a lot of opportunities for improvement. They need to redo their menu and start over.

I went on a date here… was my first experience with Atlantic Station(and despite it, I’ll be going back to AS… not GH). I dined first and the food wasn’t bad. It wasn’t memorable either. Really what put me off is the bathrooms. You can tell a lot about a place from the bathrooms and I wish… oh how I wish… I had gone there first. Just walk in, go use their facilities and walk back out(you won’t be using the facilities unless you’re ready to mess your pants or you’re so piss drunk you just don’t care)… promise you won’t want to eat there. The lighting was nice, but really for me this is a ‘never again’ type deal.

This place is offensive to me. From the«ASIAN» doors to the penis chairs to the«alluring, half naked geisha paintings» on the walls, I ask you, Dolce Group — what the DUCK were you thinking? OH my goodness, what an awful AWFUL themed restaurant. Is this what you perceive of Japan? Your expensive drinks also made me sick.

Food is great. Service from the check in and managements point is horrible. We had a reservation on a Thursday at 7:30 pm for 15 people for our anniversary. First it took me 3 weeks of harassing them on emails and phone calls to reserve for 15 because they dont do that online. I also wanted to have a cake delivered so I needed to coordinate it. When my wife and I showed up 15 minutes early they said I would have to wait til 10 of our guests arrived to be seated. I looked in the place and NOT1 person was in there dinning. Not ok. Then they had no clue where my cake was. They found it eventually but come on. That is supposed to be a top knock place. Piss poor management. On a better note we had 1 server for our whole table of 15. In most places that would spell disaster but our server was freaking awesome. She saved the night. And again the food was good but certainly over pricex for the piss poor management of that place.

First off, I have no idea what they were thinking when they named the restaurant«Geisha House.» The name of the restaurant does not appeal to me and would be the first deterrent. However, I came here for a friend’s birthday dinner so here are my observations. The restaurant provides a great atmosphere for couples or singles. There are many tables just for two around the walls of the restaurant while the inside seats bigger parties. The bar is located around the center if I observed correctly. The dim room and scarlet ambiance sets the mood as you walk in. However, as much as I love electronic beats, I didn’t really like the repetitive droning beats of the bass from the music they played – after a while my head pulsed to the beats. We came as a rather large group(14 people) so we sat in a long rectangular set of tables which made it impossible to converse with the rest of the group. But, to GH’s defense, this place is definitely not meant for large groups. As trendy and social this place may be, you could tell by the way the staff handled our orders that they are not used to large groups. A handful of us got our meals much later while everyone had theirs. Despite this, the staff was courteous and apologized a few times for the wait. I ordered the Frightened Geisha which turned out not so frightened as they forgot to add the torched salmon on top. It was made up of spicy tuna, cucumber, tobiko, spicy cream sauce and eel sauce. The roll was originally $ 10 I believe, but thankfully they have 50% off on Sundays(some exclusions may apply). The roll came with 8 pieces but is definitely not worth the full price – half price, perhaps. The sauce and cream on the roll was good although I was barely able to taste the sushi. I did enjoy the presentation of the roll however. One roll will not be enough to fill you up, but two rolls should satisfy you – unless you’re terribly hungry and have $ 30+ to throw around; this is assuming of course that you come here on another day besides Sunday. I also ordered their Udon with Veggies. Their udon comes separate with fried veggies(carrot, sweet potato, asparagus, potato, I forget what else, I remember five pieces of veggies being served). The udon tasted heavy with flavor aka msg but was enjoyable(love-hate relationship with msg, I admit). The consistency of the noodles were good and the batter on the veggies was thin with a light crunch which I enjoyed very much. Together with the roll, the udon and roll satisfied my stomach. I forgot to mention that I had a rather large meal around 3pm that day and ate here around 7:30pm so it worked out well that I had a late lunch. All in all I would avoid coming with a large group. I would do my best to make sure it’s a Sunday if I am to come again. The food was ok but did not justify the originally suggested prices. Also for the food, it seemed like they relied too much on heavy sauces and msg(at least my dishes did) for their dishes to taste great. I would come again to check out their other rolls, but as I mentioned earlier, only on a Sunday.

Impressive bar and ambiance! You know the place… trendy staff who are hand-picked for their looks and wearing all black… non-Japanese sushi chefs making sushi rolls that fall apart upon the touch of chopsticks…$ 15 Martinis. You know the drill… You pay for the ambiance when you dine here, because their food is just eh for the inflated prices. I like the fact that another Unilocaler reported 50% on Sundays, because the ½ off food prices should be their normal prices. They are in Atlantic Station and need to cover that expensive lease, so food prices will be inflated and quality will be lower. Come for the cocktails and cool vibe… but have your meal elsewhere if you are hungry. This is probably an ideal place to have a trendy drink during a girls night out before a movie or to host a hip professional event.

This may be the first review written about a place by a person who has never even been there. We were planning to have dinner there for 10 of us to celebrate a friend’s birthday. We had to give a CC # to make the reservation, we’re told everyone had a $ 30 minimum, and the CC would be charged if anyone did not show up. We were told everyone had to bring cash because they would not split the check. I was skeptical when I read the Unilocalers reviews but didn’t want to suggest another place, because I thought the birthday girl wanted to go. We canceled the reservation. We’re going to try Ra Sushi.

Overpriced and not too tasty. When I realized that the tempura at Ru San’s was better than Geisha House I was totally over it. I had the Sashimi igloo and that was worth it on a Sunday(half off yay!) but their prices are way too high for the«quality» of the food. I’d say you can find much better at the same price or cheaper. The first time I went the server actually told us NOT to get any of the listed rolls and instead gave us a suggestion for what he eats(this was well over a year ago so no I don’t remember) and it was great. I didn’t feel like it would be fair to review based on my initial visit with 2 rolls and drinks or my second visit which was only sashimi. This time I can say their food is overrated at best. The service was great and the ambiance is perfect. Everything but the food is good. And their drinks are meh.

This restaurant is absolutely awful, primarily because of their complete lack of service. I went on a Sunday with a group of ~10 people, but that is no excuse for the complete lack of service. We ordered a bottle of wine as soon as we were seated, but it didn’t come until the end of the meal, after everything else had been served. The appetizers came out after the main course(and I never even received my appetizer). My beef skewers were fine, but definitely not worth the full price given the service. I also ordered several pieces of sashimi, and these were served very late and warm. Throughout all of this, our waitress was never to be found. Take your money elsewhere — there are MUCH better Asian restaurants in the Atlanta area. The only time this restaurant comes close to be worth a visit is for the half-price Sunday special.

Worst food I’ve had in Atlanta. May be the worst restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. I ordered a combination of skewered meat, all of which was very obviously pre-cooked and heated in a microwave. I’m 100% serious. Absolutely terrible. Super swanky looking place for people who know nothing about food but want to pretend like they have more money than they do.

HOLY F&*%!! This place is shitastic and my server is on crack! Maybe that’s why he was yelling at me! This is a disgrace of a restaurant that touts itself as a über-chic. The Dolce Group, or whatever they call themselves, better take their business elsewhere if they can’t improve this establishment, STAT! Gawd, everything was pretty much awful including those creepy geisha girls walking around serving drinks(‘The Grudge’ anyone?). Bring my drink quick, yo – and don’t trip while you’re at it! My girlfriend and I waited forever on it and dear god, drinks were awful! We ate our apps(TERRIBLE) and rushed the hell out of there. The ambiance and food is straight up nauseating. This is anything but glutton heaven, it’s more like«Stairway to Hell», the devil red and all. Please don’t go here… I’m urging it for your sake!

I totally disagree with previous reviews! I am from New York City, Geisha house blew me away. PROS: service was fast and super friendly foods delicious and hot yummy! fantastic atmosphere quick to seat and quick food excellent variety of food on menu very fresh food and tasty very clean and quick to clean dirty dishes CON: cleaner bathroom but not a big deal in my opinion 50% off every Sunday! and $ 35 date night meals on Thursday shared appetizer two entrees and dessert :)

The food was soooo bad that it was funny, haha. My boyfriend was sure that they buy pre-made food from Sysco and simply microwave it. We got a large sake, edamame, sauteed eggplant, chicken yaki and meat skewers. I believe that the beef skewers had gone bad, it tasted rancid to me. My chicken yaki was a miserable plate with 2 pieces of dry, tiny chicken that I’m positive was microwaved. The only things that were okay were the eggplant and edamame. The price makes this place EVENWORSE in my books. How much they charge for the pitiful food is just ridiculous. Basically this place is a pretentious dump.

Went with my wife on a Sunday for half off on food and sake. It started off with terrible service from the hostesses. They didn’t even acknowledge us when we walked in and were apparently too buys having a lazy conversation with one of the waiters. When the finally did bring us to the table the hostess walked extremely quickly — dropped the menus on the table and bolted like she had somewhere better to be without even waiting for us to catch up to her at the table. Then the waiter took forever to see us. We were trying to catch a movie an hour later so we gave the waiter our entire order. Everything showed up at the same time. The edemame, soups and sushi — all at the same time. It even arrived before the sake. The food was pretty good although most of it was cold by the time we were able to eat it. I would NEVER recommend a place with this kind of service to anybody. In fact — i’m going to tell everybody how bad it was so they will know to avoid it.

One Word: OVERRATED It’s all about the hype of feeling«cool» here, but nothing to back it up. Sure, the place is visually quite appealing inside… but the sushi leaves alot to be desired. Especially for the prices! Its been sometime since Ive been there, since its drastically gone down hill!

Swanky place. Came here for the sushi, but in Atlanta, I feel like this is a place where people go just to be seen. It’s in Atlantic Station, so its generally one of the places to be of places to be at in ATL. It’s a nice place to have a drink and hang out. But this time we were hungry ordered a bunch of food and felt that I could have gotten better elsewhere. The rolls were not particularly filling and you had to order a bunch. At 10 – 15 dollars a roll, it adds up I would come back to Geisha House to be seen. haha

THISISNOTFORTHERESTAURANT!!! We came here on a Thursday night at the suggestion of someone that lives there. There was a nice crowd there but not really that packed. That’s to be expected on a Thursday. However, the people that were there WERELAME!!! LAMELAMELAME! There is no real dance floor… so as we are walking by to get to the bar, we have to squeeze past a bunch of chicks in Spandex and lycra blend Rainbow/Wet Seal/Body Central club fits on, all dancing with each other and one random dude in the middle. TAKEAWAYONESTARFORTHAT! We get to the bar and I order 3 Washington Apples. THEBARTENDERTAKESDOWN3MOUTHWASHSIZEDWAXDIXIECUPS…*I was thinking to myself, he must be giving me a sample* When he set them shots in front of me and SAID33DOLLARS! for washington apple’s in a wax mouthwash cup? When I woke up from fainting… I made sure that I told him a place with this reputation should not be serving drinks in wax cups!!! The most fun we had was taking pictures in the globe chairs they have! HORRIBLE!!! WESHOULD’VEWENTTO10PINS!!! GEISHAHOUSEGETS A HUGEFAIL!!!

Geisha House is ok if you like trendy restaurants and you’re willing to pay for the contrived atmosphere. It’s a good choice if you’re in Atlantic Station, particularly on Sunday night, when the food is half price. That’s really the saving grace that got it 3 stars instead of 2. The food is fine — I enjoyed the Geisha Lips roll, particularly that it was wrapped with cucumber instead of seaweed, making it something new and different but with good flavor, but the nigiri tasted a little fishy and wasn’t the best cut I’d ever had. I’m glad it was half price, because I definitely would have felt cheated if I’d paid full price. The décor was trendy, not terribly comfortable. The service was attentive but not particularly helpful, forgetting a couple of the things we ordered. In short, it’s fine for sushi(maki, not nigiri) on a Sunday night, but otherwise, I wouldn’t bother.

I’ve eaten here and Dolce, and hands down I’d rather eat @ Geisha House… Its a nice layout not to go for an everyday thing, but cute date spot. Or if you wana treat yourself to a nice glass of wine and chow on some sushi, why not… not a sake fan so no opinion on that. Although I must admit I wouldnt go here for sushi alone. I like the sauteed calamari over anything and the food is good price range varies on what you get a meal can run you 20, wine another 10… price medium to moderately high its fair for what they give you

AAAAHH! Yuna P. beat me to getting the first review! I will get revenge on you! Oh, who am I kidding, I love your reviews, Yuna! Anyway, I took Yuna’s advice and took my mom to Geisha House for her birthday. I broke out into a cold sweat hoping she would like it… and she did… and then some! The food was Japanese, but also semi-Tapas in the way that everything could easily be shared by all at the table, and it was amazing! We all loved this place! Even vegans can get stuffed here! At first it was confusing trying to find our table on the second floor, and our first waiter ditched us about 10 minutes in, but I have no idea why– she just had to go. So, we got a great waiter who catered to our every whim after she left us. He seemed as confused as us about her departure, but it was all good. He made up for it all in mere minutes. The food kept coming, and coming, and coming– they don’t want your food to sit in the back while waiting for the rest to come– they send it out as it is finished and I respect that. I told them when I made the reservation that it was my mother’s birthday and they sent her out a chocolate soufflé with«happy birthday» written in chocolate syrup along the side, with a candle, and it was super cute. It made my mother’s night, along with the gift from my dad of a fancy diamond cross, designed from him for her– super cute! Good work, daddy! It is definitely a dark, yet gorgeous restaurant, but I would advise going there on a week night, when no one is in Atlantic Station! Thank you Yuna P., and everyone else, for suggesting this place!!! You helped me to make a very lovely night out for my mom!!!
