Griffin Letha Y MD

When reviewing the results of my MRI Dr. Griffin presumed I could also read an MRI. (I am not a Dr or a radiologist and had no idea what I was looking at). She failed to communicate my results to me other than look at this, can’t you see this, how did you injure yourself.
I eventually saw the radiologist report stating I had arthritis and bone bruising.
When I asked how to move forward she asked me what I thought I should do (again i am not a Dr.) and then her only advice was that I have another MRI in 2 – 3 months and see if there is any difference.
I have had nagging knee issues for more than one year and the issues have become persistent.
After 2 appointments with Dr. Griffin, I have decided to find another doctor. Not only do I appreciate punctuality when I have an appointment (I waited more than an hour past my appt time to see Dr. Griffin), but I go to the doctor when I need help. A treatment plan that is repeat expensive MRI in 2 – 3 months is not a plan I am on board with.
Perhaps had I simply torn an ACL, she would be great but my knee issues that presented with no injury are, I think, too complex. I was wooed by her bio on the website and impressed that she is a woman in a male dominated practice. I thought she would be tops and left with nothing. She doesn’t even say goodbye or ask if you have any questions.

Letha Griffin is an amazing and knowledgeable doctor. She personally called me with the results of my MRI. She is very understanding and has a strong sense of urgency also. I would hands down recommend her. She is the best!!!

No thanks on telling me to «Live with your bad genes and knee pain» by taking «anti-​inflammatory and swimming» after I have dealt with the knee pain for 5+ years and tried literally everything to figure it out: chiro, acupuncture, pain pills, swimming, PT, and on and on and on.
Letha, I am 39 years old. Can’t go for a walk without swelling. Your advice to me was horrible and typical of some of the other orthos I have seen who just ignored me and chalked it up to «women have bad knees» and «you have bad genes»
I went to Southern Ortho group and was DX with grade 3 arthritis, a torn meniscus and floating bits of cartilidge. I am 2 weeks post OP (scope) and aside from swelling related to surgery, feel great.
So glad I didn’t listen to you and your advice of «go swimming» and «deal with it»
