Hyatt Place Atlanta Downtown

For the price, this is a very good place.
This hotel is right smack dab in downtown. I had a conference at the Ritz Carlton and this was about a ten minute walk away. There are tons of restaurants within walking distance, which is really nice. Since it is downtown, parking is $ 25 per night. Not unreasonable, since you can just leave your car and walk everywhere.
The rooms were very clean and neat. Weirdly enough, they didn’t have lotion or kleenex in the room. It was an easy fix to call and get some. I appreciate they have a list of everything they will provide complimentary and what they have for purchase. They have a pretty extensive list of complimentary items.
They also have complimentary breakfast. It had the standard fare of bagels, yogurt and cereal. It also had sausage sandwiches, which was a little more upscale.
The fitness room is very small. I couldn’t get the tv on the treadmill to work so I ended up just listening to podcasts.

The outside of the Hyatt Place building isn’t much to look at, but we were pleasantly surprised at the renovated and very clean interior. No signs of damage or wear anywhere. All of the staff I met were extremely friendly and helpful, although I didn’t generally need anything out of the ordinary. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Atlanta, especially since it was much cheaper than our conference hotels.

The room is very spacious and clean-​sofa (converts to a queen bed), king bed, microwave, refrigerator, vanity table, and shower. The bed was comfy. The bathroom was quite small. They could have cut the sink/​vanity area in half to extend the bathroom. Also, there weren’t that many amenities. Free Saturday breakfast was good, skillet selections, grits, and your dairy and carbs. In the lobby there is a lounge/​bar area with a TV. I tried the fitness center. They really shouldn’t rename it to «fitness room,» because it is a room with 3 machines (2 treads and 1 elliptical) however, overall pleasant stay for the price. I would stay here again.

Marina was a bit of a pain as I was checking in late after a long trip from the west coast. Hallway noise was loud at times. Otherwise it was a great stay. Clean room. Plenty of linens. Great location and décor for an older building. Great breakfast and great daytime staff.

Absolutely the best Hyatt place we have stayed in in a long time. The staff are so friendly. The shuttle guy is a riot. And it is so clean. I mean «eat off the floor «clean. Great location. Stayed on 10^th floor, worth the extra money. Highly recommend!

I stayed at this place for two nights on a recent business trip. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was fresh and tasty. Yes, the bathroom was small but I am 6’3″ tall and had no problems. I will definitely stay here again.

The service was incredibly friendly as polite as other have mentioned. Having a microwave and fridge in each room is a high plus. The room was also very clean
Unfortunately, the bad far outweighed the good. Parking is $ 22 and this charge was NOT mentioned. The bathrooms are overwhelmingly small and the toilet was undersized even for me, and I’m 5’8″ and 145lbs. The shower/​bathtub leaked water from the sprayer. The beds were on style box springs, and the pillows were horrid overall. Sleeping was a nightmare, especially with thin walls and screaming kids. The security guard was short and lanky, and he even let in a homeless man who was covered in his own faeces who then proceeded to walk around the dining area during breakfast. The breakfast has nothing interesting to offer. I even saw one of the staff taking fresh toast out of a plastic freezer bag to serve it. The egg sandwiches looked like they were something you’d find in the freezer section rather than something that was made by a chef. The coffee was disgusting.
I hope this isn’t the best Atlanta can offer.

LOVE this place. The staff are super friendly and everything is really clean and efficient. This is my second experience with this brand (Hyatt Place) and both times have been winners.
The internet is free throughout the building, which makes it great for business travelers. There is also a free shuttle that is like having a driver on call. I was taken back and forth to my conference by two terrific men who were so friendly and willing to serve.
I had an amazing view which was a delight to wake up to.
The only downside is the lack of a full service restaurant, but there are enough close by, and ²⁴⁄₇ availability of snacks like flatbreads that make that ok if you want to stay in. On the flip side of that is the best hotel breakfast I’ve every had with something different every morning. There are your usual things, cereals, breads, fruit, cottage cheese, juices, but the chef is super creative with the eggs and made me look forward to seeing what was in store for the day.
Overall, this was a terrific experience.

I’m surprised at some of these bad reviews – although it seems like most of them were from a year ago or more. This place has come a long way! I stayed there for 3 days for a conference and give it a thumbs up! Clean, homey, convenient, and free breakfast, free wifi, fitness room, and business center!
You see the same staff each day, on rotations. And they seem cross-​trained to check in/​check-​out, tag/​store your items, be a cashier at the bakery adjoined to the check-​in place, and handle a variety of other tasks. There may be a bit of a wait because when that front-​desk person is by his/​herself, they are juggling a lot of tasks. But just be patient, you can tell they are trying.
The room was really nice – had a fridge, microwave, and a big sleeper sofa with ottoman. The tv was adjustable so you could swing it either to face your bed, or face the sofa.
They offered a complimentary shuttle to anywhere within a 3 mile radius, it operates until about 9:45pm and you can call the driver directly who has a cell phone. Juan was very friendly and responsive, and came within 5 – 10 min of a request. I intended to tip him after getting some change but didn’t get a chance – if I ever stay there again I’ll remember.
The complimentary breakfast was AWESOME! I saw a variety of juices, doughnuts, english muffins in one area. Then another area had 3 skillets, one with mini pancakes, one with healthy egg-​white & cheese on english muffins, and one with conventional bacon, gouda cheese and egg in buns. To the right was a cereal bar and a oatmeal station with granola, maple sugar, craisins, and fresh fruit.
I would totally stay again. It was quiet, the location was great, and it was next to some 5-​star restaurants like Sway and Max Lager. It was also gated and had some hangout spots in the front for lounging.

Stayed several nights here.
Pluses: room has microwave and fridge, no bed bugs, free wifi, relatively cheap for downtown.
Minuses: found roaches in room, daytime staff was rude and abrupt (evening staff was great), construction noise at 1am, and someone came into my room and stole prescription pills from my suitcase. It was a deliberate action because my belongings were moved around and the in-​room safe was left wide open (no accident because the cabinet housing the safe was closed before I left the room but open when I got back). Someone was clearly looking for something to take.
Breakfast was paltry – bread from fridge, hot items you had to nuke yourself. Fresh fruit was good, and rooms were very cool.
Stay only if you like thieves and bugs.

Stayed at this hotel one time. When I came in it looked very nice. Pretty fountain at the entrance. The inside is nice looks like a restaurant more like a little bakery lol. It’s hard to tell that it’s the front desk. So I asked the dude at the register where do I check in? He ignored me and helped somebody else … So then I said excuse me where do I check in the hotel and he said right here! He said it kind of rude. I got a bad vibe from him. It really made me want to leave but I still tried to check in they only take visas by the way. No cash deposit. But anyway he finally checked me in and he over charged me I was upset due to the fact that I was only in town on a little vacation and had my budget. The manager took care of it. The manager is very sweet if only the managers were the ones at the front desk. Lol there employes have bad customer service skills lol the rooms are nice though but if your like me and expect to get treated right you’ll have problems at the front desk lol

I love this place. I had to stay here because I couldn’t get a room at the Marriott down the street.

The rooms are clean and quiet, the staff is über-​friendly and the free breakfast in the morning is tasty. I am considering staying in Hyatt hotels more often now because of this experience.
I come to Atlanta once a year for business and I will stay again.

The hotel staff could of been more professional. The place was clean & nice. The bathrooms were a little out dated. You pay $ 22 for parking and there wasn’t even a spot for us to park inside the gated area! Overall our stay was pleasant.

Even though we only stayed there a night, our experience was wonderful. We were a party of 6 and the room they gave us was ample clean and well stocked. The continental breakfast was delicious. The staff was courteous and the hotel location was walking distance from major attractions. We will definitely go back.

I was a bit nervous about staying at this hotel. I didn’t know much about it, as I had never been to Atlanta before. I was there for a conference and picked this place because it was close to where the event was being held. I was pleasantly surprised to know that it was located in the heart of downtown Atlanta. The staff was nice. I liked that there was a shuttle willing to take you (within a 3 mile radius) around downtown. The room was decent. Honestly, for the price I paid, it could’ve been a bit nicer/​cleaner. The TV was huge. I loved it. I also liked I could plug in my laptop for a bigger screen. WiFi was efficient. The bed/​pillows were comfortable. The bathroom is tiny. I didn’t bother with the couch in the room. It looked dusty.
I enjoyed the free morning breakfast. It was tasty and they kept the food refilled/​fresh. It was a good variety of either pancakes/​french toast, eggs, fruit, bagels, toast, coffee etc. The only drawback, the space where the food was held was tiny, so you had to take your dish back to your room. Later that evening, I ordered from their Grab n’ Go menu. I thought it was a room service thing, but turns out you have to pad to the front desk in your pj’s and pick up your food :0/​
Overall, a decent stay. It’s overpriced, but I guess you are paying for the location. It’s very accessible to downtown happenings and local attractions (Coca Cola, Atlanta Aquarium, etc.)

Unbelievably underwhelming. The prices were through the room for a room that was a close contender with the holiday inn. The maid service would either not show up, show up and not refill, or show up and only clean the restroom and not make the bed.
Would I return to this hotel? NO! Very disappointed by the overall service, atmosphere and price of the reservation.

I booked the Hyatt Place due to its proximity to the Georgia Aquarium, Centennial Park and the Coca-​Cola Museum. And mainly because my other choices in this area were already booked on this weekend.
It was a trick to get into the place, for starters. The ‘entry’ sign is hard to see and it’s a narrow driveway in. No marked parking for registration, and if you block the shuttle, he lays on the horn. There is gated parking… for 20 cars… and once you go in to find out it’s full, you can only back straight out. We had to get out and walk back into the hotel to find an employee to suggest alternatives-​which were fine, but they should perhaps have mentioned all options when we arrived.
The lobby décor was lovely, front desk staff super friendly.
The rooms (we booked 2 rooms) were sufficient, however, in order to use the vanity, the lights are ON, so the entire room wakes up. There was hair in the shower, the hair dryer didn’t heat all the way up, the couch was hard as a rock. Great pillows, though.
Our room faced the street parking which is next to a building housing a billiards bar. It was quite lively and LOUD until about 3am. Not a great idea with children in tow.
Breakfast was included and superior to most budget hotels-​we were pleased.
My main complaint was that my room was not refreshed while we were out for the day. I returned with my family at 6p, and called the front desk. I was informed that the housekeeping staff had left for the day and that nothing could be done. I find that to be unacceptable in a Hyatt property. After I was given the third degree about whether or not the sign was on my door (it assuredly was NOT), I got a manager on the phone who basically told me to get over it. After a few minutes, she called the room back and offered me one night’s complimentary parking ($ 22). Unacceptable.
I will not stay in this property again. There are better budget options within a very reasonable distance.

Sooo i had a pretty awful experience at this place. Most of the staff (except for 1 female receptionist) seemed pretty lazy and incompetent. I walk into my room, go to the bathroom to find a nasty little surprise in the toilet bowl– I certainly didn’t remember paying for that. Upon complaining, the staff really didn’t seem to care. There was always like a 15 min wait before we were helped at the reception desk. I would really recommend everyone out there not to stay at this place. If you’re concerned with cost– stay at days inn and if you’re concerned with comfort stay at the marriott! Avoid hyatt place like the plague!

You get what you pay for.
My co-​worker and I each got a room here for 2 nights. The room was not ready upon arrival — both of toilets had crap in it and I did not have heat (it was 40 degrees out). When we complained, the manager on duty said that since we booked through a third-​party, there was nothing they could do for me.
Although the room was modern and spacious and their staff was generally very friendly, the manager on site really ruined my experience there.
