So I moved to Atlanta in February to be in «RESPECT». A week before our show opened, I had the following conversation(or an approximation of) with my costumer: Costumer: Cory, you know, you’re reading really… young onstage. Cory: That’s bad? Costumer(ignoring my comment): We were wondering if we could cut your hair. Cory(clutching at her long locks nervously): Like, how much? Costumer: Like, all of it. OH, GOD. Enter Etienne Salon & Spa. I decided, what the hell, I’ve only been growing my hair out for FOURYEARS, it’ll grow back(read: I want to keep my job and not look like a teenager onstage in this show), so I’ll let them cut my hair. Great decision, people. And I was lucky enough to go to this fabulous place to have it done. Not only was the atmosphere calming and friendly in general, but they gave me a bottle of water, let me take before and after pictures, were prepared for possible tears when they cut 8 or so inches off, AND she cut it off in stages so it wouldn’t be too much of a shock. Sweet, right? More importantly, my haircut is freaking CUTE and I love it. There were no tears, no panic, just a fun new ‘do. She did exactly what I asked her to do, right down to the flip in the back and the perfect angle of the bangs. Awesome. So, once a month for the past five months, I’ve been to see Elisa at Etienne to get my hair cut. She remembers what I tell her, she cuts it perfect every time, and has come to see the show, too, how cool is that? And you can’t get a better shampoo-head massage, I tell you what. You wouldn’t necessarily expect this kind of place in the middle of Colony Square, but they really are great; AND they do massages and facials and stuff, too, I’ve been meaning to check those out, though if they’re anything like their haircuts, I’m sure they’re quality. It’s hard to find a good hairdresser these days — go and check out Etienne!
