Excellente … My second time here in a week… My god … Just so fresh… Well seasoned… I mean this has to be the best Jerk in Atlanta … Keep up the good work… I even break it down to the reggae they blast while waiting on my food. The cutest fair skin girl works the counter, and she’s nice. We joked about me having my own sauce at home from Joes Jerk Chicken Chicago lol… Large White … Yellow Rice. And Cabbage Me Please!!!

The food is good but they are soooo unprofessional. Never open on time and always run out of things. The portions always differ each time as well.

Waited in a short line for 20 mins… only to be told that they were out of ox tails. the very thing I was there for. I have yet to figure out how you can be out of one of your main dishes at 2pm… So I order the curry chicken and it was a big mistake. I should have taken my money elsewhere. Will never eat here again. Also if you don’t want to spend the rest of your day smelling like smoke… I recommend you staying out of this place too.

Update, from 4 stars to 2 stars, why?: The food is just as tasty as previous but the price went up and the portion went wayyyyyyy down and not worth it at all. The waitress spooned in two scoops of peas and rice but each scoop was a ¼ of what it once was so in actuality it was 1 spoonful or even less. Plus she was reluctant to give me extra gravy — for christsakes!!! That sleight of hand is a complete turnoff so I’m never going back. Seems like they would prefer losing a customer(or 10 customers) over a spoonful of rice!!! Not a good business move if you ask me!!!

Regardless of whether you eat in or get your food to-go, everything in this tiny Jamaican restaurant is served in Styrofoam boxes. The food is laid out in a row of cafeteria-style steam trays. Just let the server know if you want the small or large portion and she will plate your food accordingly. The menu is a handful of Jamaican standards: Jerk Chicken, Oxtails, Curry Chicken, Brown Stew Chicken, Curry Goat and Snapper Fish. Each entrée is served with Rice(or Rice & Peas), Steamed Cabbage and a sliver of Plantain.(I believe the large portion offers two slivers of Plantain though.) I ordered a small Brown Stew Chicken with Rice. The server filled the large partition of the Styrofoam tray with rice, topped it off with meat and drenched it in gravy before adding the sides. The pieces of bone-in chicken were cut up in an unfamiliar way and at first I couldn’t decide if I was eating white or dark meat. I realized that it was extremely tender white meat. It was well seasoned without being punch-you-in-the-mouth spicy. The sides were tasty too. Jamrock isn’t my favorite Jamaican restaurant in Atlanta but it’s still a solid pick.

I am a sucker for jerk chicken done on the grill and this place does it well. I haven’t tried anything else except for the jerk chicken and oxtail with rice and beans, and bith were delicious. Give this place a try, especially if you are tired of eating stewed or baked jerk chicken.

Food very good. Place seems a bit scary, thuggish type atmosphere. I wish it where in a more favorable place. Food is a bit pricey, service kind of sucks.

So I had to go with Ellen to Veg Fest, a vegan festival on the south side of Atlanta, to help her at her booth selling . The place was teeming with food vendors, but not one scrap of meat to be found(I know, it’s a vegan festival ‘fer Christ’s sake!). Jonesing for protein other than tofu, I remembered seeing this little jerk shack on Metropolitan Pkwy as we drove in. I snuck out of the festival during a lull in the crowd and drove over to give it a look — see. Just inside as you walk into the place is a countertop with a cash register and a line of heated deep aluminum serving trays swimming with stews and meats, rice, plantains and cabbage. A poster of Bob Marley smiled down from the wall beside a handwritten menu. Reggae music filled the air. Looking at the menu i soon realized I hit the Caribbean trifecta: Jerk Chicken; Curried Goat; and Oxtails! I ordered an oxtail platter — oxtails over rice, cabbage on the side and fried plantains. Served in a Styrofoam container, I quickly drove back to the vegan festival parking lot and devoured the fatty, succulent medallions of beef and cartilage in my car. It was spectacular!!! Tender and tasty, the meat and fat easily pulled from the bone. Full and satisfied, fingers a little greasy, I popped two Mentos to hide my transgressions and sheepishly re-entered the Veg Fest. No-one was the wiser. :-)

This is a cool spot. I got the white meat jerk chicken wit spicy sauce and double rice and peas. I was stopped by the liquor store across the street and grabbed a bottle of Appleton and what did I smell., jerk chicken I had stop. Not the best not the worst.

This place has the best jerk I have tasted in Atlanta, reminds me of the good jerk chicken you can get in Brooklyn. It’s a no frills spot in the hood but none the less the food is good.

100% pure Jamaican! 2 orders of Jerk Chicken(white meat option) combos = $ 15 To DIE for! The sauces were amazing! Mild or Hot are perfect! I mixed mine so that made it even better!!! WOW! «I’ll be back!» It’s worth the 33 min drive from my crib! Indeed!

Just ok. Had better in NY and I use to live next to a Jamaican Bakery & Resturant in DC and most places down south don’t have true Jamaican roots. Best Jamaican on the SW side of Atlanta is Scotch Bonet on Campbellton Rd.

Let me start by saying that the only Jamaican food I eat are patties and coco bread. Not asking for too much, right? The coco bread was hard– I should have inspected my food before I left but I didn’t think I needed to. The actual taste was ok. I’ve had better. The vegetable patty was horrible– Imagine a piece of coco bread stuffed with canned mixed veggies– no seasonings. No meat patties were available when I went. I definitely will not be returning.

Let me preface with… I eat A LOT of Jamaican Food. It’s one of my favorites. So I make it my business to try just about every place ATL has… with that said. This one is by FAR in my TOP3!!! The why’s: 1. Jamaican Customer Service and Great food usually DON’T mix… NOT the case here. Everyone was SUPERFRIENDLY! and QUICK another oxymoron for Jamaican Restaurants 2. Quality of Jerk– This gets a 10!!! It was TRUE Jerk… True Jerk Chicken is Smoked/Barbecued the skin is supposed to have a dark crust, but not burnt. I cannot tell you how Great this bird way! And the mild sauce on top… It’s EXACTLY what I wanted! 3. Rest of sides– flavorful 4. Prices– OUTSTANDING! The lowest around and the quality of the food AMAZING!!! I will be a regular whenever on this side of town. It’s right down the street from Atlanta Metro College and Atlanta Tech. If you are looking for GREAT Jamaican… LOOKNOFURTHER!

I really wanted to like this place since it’s just around the corner from my house and I love pretty much anything that comes off the smoker and they did a great job fixing up the building. However, bit times I’ve been there at lunch time they have been out of somethings, others were not ready and what they did have looked like it had been sitting to long, despite the fact that they had only been open for an hour? I ended up with the smoked chicken and mac & cheese. The chicken was so dry that I couldn’t finish it while the mac & cheese was great. but not enough to make me go back a 3rd time.
