I Love it here! Never in a million years did I ever think that I would have a female barber, but in fact I do! I love working with Kanishia, she is indeed a master when it comes down to cutting and styling a brotha correctly! every look that I have wanted to attempt, she has executed perfectly and with ease. I am at ease in her chair. I trust her. You get the spa treatment here. My wife got her hair pressed, and I got a haircut. Best haircut of my life. And though that sounds like an exaggeration, it isn’t. When you come just see Kanishia. She will hook you and yours up!

Kanishia is my hair gawdess!!! Moving to Atlanta I was TERRIFIED about having to find a new hair stylist, but Kanishia was a true gift from above. She cares not only about the health of your hair but about you. Open communication, great products and styles exactly how you want not what she wants. My hair is now healthier than ever. She even works on sunday afternoons which is super convenient! Truly the best around and very professional!!! Oh and I love that I can book appointments online and she doesnt overbook. I had a horrific life-​altering experiencing with Angela.
I scheduled a consultation with her to discuss a color change. The initial consultation went well. I felt comfortable with her and thought all would continue to go well. Unfortunately, it did not.
For about a decade, my natural long hair had been dyed off black. (FYI: My hair was approximately three inches below my bra strap.) Because of the length of my hair, I was very cautious about any changes.
On the afternoon of the color transition, I arrived on time. Angela proceeded to apply the color change product. Initially, the color was acceptable. Unfortunately, Angela did not follow all of the directions, and my hair reverted to its original off black shade. I was not upset. I could see that the color change would give me a desirable shade. I rearranged my work schedule, so that I could return the following morning.
The next morning, I arrived on time. Angela was late. (It was a rainy morning, and I understand how Atlanta traffic can be.) She proceeded to apply the color change agent. This time, she followed all of the steps. The color wasn’t what we expected, but it was acceptable.
Angela commented that I needed a trim. She then proceeded to tell me the cost. I told her that I was surprised that she would charge me for the trim. She said that it was just $_​_​_​_​. I told her that the amount wasn’t the issue. I calmly reminded she didn’t follow all of the directions, which caused my hair revert to off-​black. I also mentioned that I rearranged my schedule to return. I told her that color transition was a process, and that I was attempting to build a client-​stylist relationship.
She CUT my hair to above my shoulder. My hair went from three inches BELOW my bra strap to ABOVE my shoulders.
Angela refused to return my phone calls.

The owner, Tiffany Hunter, and my stylist, Ms. Toni, are theeee absolute best! The service and products used at this salon is above par.
Ms. Toni is a barber and hairstylist. She handles short hair styles like no other! Her cuts are precise and she believes in healthy hair, as all stylist in this salon. From the shampoo bowl to the styling chair, Ms. Toni delivers attention to detail and offers patience and understanding when it comes to personalizing your look.
Mrs. Hunter is operating an «experience». She shows appreciation of all clients by making sure they a taken care of from the time enter the doors of the salon. You may walk in the salon and there may be a health seminar of interest going on, appetizers, cold lemonade over ice, and not to forget the jar of your favorite candies. This salon is clean, swanky, and meant for the grown and sexy. If you havent been to Ken Bailey Studio you are definitely missing out!

Very professional salon. Mimi is a great stylist and was able to fit me in at the last minute when another salon/​stylist was a no-​show. Great location and convenient parking! You can even make appointments online. There is a Unilocal check in offer that they will honor. I will definitely return for future services.

I was referred to this shop and I have been a client here for 6 months and have not had ONE complaint.
My hair is healthier than ever and The stylists are always professional! You can truly make yourself at home here. Tiffany and Keisha do my hair and when I leave the shop I get many compliments! I refer other people here also and about three of my co — workers are also clients here

Wow. I have to say this is the worst salon experience I’ve had in a long time and possibly ever (although the staff that provided the products were great!)
Just a little background: I ended up at this salon because they apparently needed hair models for various styles with a specific product line. I chose the twist-​out, made my appointment time for 10:30am and set out on the train to my destination.
I got there about an hour early and headed to the coffee shop on the corner til about 10 minutes til my appointment and sat.
And sat.
And sat.
At some point I was next on the list and by that time I’d been sitting just over two hours and thought it would have been a waste of time to leave since I’d been waiting so long at it was.
Do you know that I didn’t even get to the shampoo basin until about 1:15pm!!! Meanwhile, just before I was taken back the owner, Tiffany, vocalized her discontent at having to do my twistout, saying she was «tired». I could give a hell less, ma’am! I’ve been sitting for almost 3 hours while your stylists (only 2 of whom even know how to twist!) bypassed me in favor of the ladies there for a flatiron because it was supposedly easier. Then you tell me you don’t really want to do my hair? Way to make me feel welcome! As a customer I should NEVER hear that come out of your mouth.
So I get to chatting with the girl next to me and find out her appointment was for 1pm. Meaning SHE was seen fairly close to her time. This doesn’t sit well with me because now I have to wonder wtf they were doing to set ME back 3 hours but were somehow able to keep their afternoon schedules.
I found out they all (owner included) apparently took a lunch break at the same time. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for resting but I don’t see why they couldn’t stagger their lunches so that at least 2 people could at least be shampooing or something.
Anyway, Tiffany ends up taking the 1pm girl and blowdrying her first, even though I’d been waiting over 3 hours. Finally she gets to me, twists me up and sits me under the dryer. For almost an hour. She definitely had started other clients in that time frame, btw. She finished flatironing the 1pm girl and started another one in the time it took for her to ignore me under the dryer. She didn’t even check on me, another stylist took the initiative to make sure my hair was dry.
I was already upset, but at this point I was downright LIVID! Not once did Tiffany apologize for being so far behind. In fact, she didn’t even ACKNOWLEDGE that’d I’d been waiting! A simple «Thank you so much for your patience» would have done a lot to make the experience less frustrating, but Tiffany couldn’t care less. I guess she figured that because we weren’t paying that we should sit down, stfu and take what we were getting but I mean damn… I ended up spending 5 hours at the shop for a style that only takes me about 3 hours at home. My whole day was gone because of her lack of professionalism and she didn’t even have the business etiquette or the grace to try to smooth it over. This doesn’t make me want to come back and become a PAYING regular by any means.
The shop is cute but the lack of communication, lack of professionalism and «f*ck it» attitude about my time make me unable to ever patronize this establishment or recommend it to anyone else.
