Los Bravos Mexican Restaurant

I’ve been going to this fun neighborhood Mexican place since I was a child with my parents and still go to this day. It’s convenient, fast, yummy and has great deals. They are great for larger parties or families as there as many areas of the restaurant depending on what you want. It’s our go to Mexican for the area.

This is one of my usual spots since it’s right around the corner. Usually the food is just a-​okay/​meh. There are better options on Buford highway. One of my biggest pet peeves with this place is that they nickel and dime you for everything, for instance, $ 0.60 for grilled jalapeños! Jalapeños, really? Prices are a bit too much considering their quality. The service is the one part that’s good. Parking is ample in the shopping area. This review world have received 5 stars had they improved the quality of the food and didn’t charge you for every little addition in the world! Won’t come back.

The service is great and the food is fresh. The Texas Guacamole is absolutely delicious. This is a great neighborhood restaurant.

Not very flavorful. I ordered the tostadas and the forgot the tostada she’ll so they basically me a crappy salad.

It’s your typical delicious and affordable Mexican restaurant. The food has been consistently good for me and the staff is nice and very quick. I’ll definitely be keeping this one as a go-​to!
I’m currently hooked on the fajita borrito. Give it a try!

Best Mexican for us! Even my NY family said they would love to have this gem near to them. I must say much of the credit goes to the chief. We frequented another Los Bravos (Conyers area) and the taste, quality and quantity were not on par with this location. It is no wonder they successfully expanded this place!
They offer a large selection of standards as well as some house specials. The fajitas (I usually do chicken) are tasty any plentiful. Only criticism is the tortillas served with the tortilla’s are really small. My husband has tried and loved, their burritos and tampiquenos. I also think their chicken soup and grilled chicken (parrillo) is worth waiting for! Hope you agree.

Worst Mexican food I’ve ever had. I’ve waited to write a review on this place hoping I’d have a different experience after three visits.
Three visits later, I have finally concluded that the food is just bad. The chips and dip are mediocre, the few entrees that I’ve tried were bland and lacked the authentic flavors you tend to expect with good Mexican food, I’ve had to swap out dirty silverware two out of the three visits, and the service… just okay… nothing special.
Do yourself, your taste buds, and your wallet a favor and pass this place up.

Let me add to the terrible delivery reviews by saying their takeout is not any better. Messed up my order and then when I brought it up, got in my face about it, telling me I just did not know what I ordered. I make the same order every. single. week. Not anymore, not ever again. The food isn’t even great, only close to my house. Avoid.

It’s your typical Mexican restaurant. I’m a fan of carnitas and they do a great job on them. It’s walking distance for me and they have plenty of parking. Cinco de Mayo was fun this year and a mad house as any Mexican restaurant is on that day. They have us sombreros and t shirts when paying.

By far the worst Mexican food that I have ever had. Those that like this food probably have no idea what Mexican food is. This is a lot more expensive than my local Taco stand and yet lower quality food and not to mention the cashiers or the kitchen always mess up the order and forget to give a complete food. Do not recommend!

Wish I could comment on the food… but I have been waiting for my delivery for over an hour and 45 minutes. I ordered thru GrubHub (who doesn’t tell you the wait time until AFTER you place the order) — I reached out saying I didn’t want to wait 90 minutes… they told me the restaurant said it would be delivered earlier than that and here we are… past my delivery time. I called the restaurant — apparently they use a 3^rd party delivery company who haven’t even picked my meal up and told me it would be another 20 minutes. What a joke. At this point, I may need to change it to dinner not lunch. Hopefully the food is worth it. Sad that they are getting bad reviews because of their terrible 3^rd party vendors.

The worst chicken soup ever.Yuck. Thir other food is not very good either. I’ll never come back here.

We lucked out going on a Thursday when their drink special is $ 2.50 margaritas. Totally worth it for that price. Otherwise…
The salsa is my main barometer for a Mexican restaurant and this one was pretty bland. Garlicky, sure, but not spicy. (Did that stop me from eating all the chips? No, of course not.)
The food wasn’t particularly flavorful. The chicken in the enchiladas verdes tasted canned and a cheese sauce was used rather than broiled melted cheese. The quesadilla rellena was OK but also nothing impressive. We probably would not return for the food.
The serving staff was pleasant. The host was friendly & responsive, and our server was nice.

The food was mediocre at best but the restaurant and the entire facility is discussing. I’m embarrassed by the cleanliness of this restaurant and feel bad for the owner. The employees could care less about the condition of the restaurant and I’d have to be convinced that the owner cleaned house before I’d go back in there again!

This a really but basic strip-​mall TeX mex place. Everything good and the location is ready to find get to.

I usually order off of the vegetarian menu, and I love it. But his time I ordered a spinach quesadilla and a side order of refries beans. I’m going back to. The veggie menu next time. Too salty — lacked flavor. The cheese dip and jalapeños are still awesome. If I wanted to get real, I would just order that and a margarita for dinner. Mmmm

At one point I was coming here so often that the manager new my birthday was approaching. Hmmmmm… may have a problem.
When I lived by here and worked by here there were many weeks I would go 10 times. I also had a faster metabolism. I now live over by here again and the Los is still in great form.
Is this fancy Mexican food… why no! This is an order by your favorite combo number kind of Mexican food.
The portions are very large… get an extra order of rice and beans and split one order of Fajitas.
If you are a vegetarian they have potato burritos and they are amazing. Smashed potatoes with red pepper sauce and sautéed onions. Then cheese and red sauce on top. A great non meat option.
There is a huge athletic complex across the street so it can get busy but it is a huge restaurant and they can hold a ton of people. I do wish they had an outdoor area. Maybe one day!

Awful! Just plain bloody awful… I tried not to even give any stars, but I guess it’s not possible… lol!

I’ve been here a few times now, and Los Bravos is a great strip-​mall mexican joint. It’s not as «fancy» as Uncle Julio’s but it definitely makes up for that in value. Beers are big and cheap, service is fast, and chips and salsa are plentiful.
My only gripe would be the salsa. It tends to be very watery with little in the way of solid chunks of tomato.

I’ve now consistently eaten at this location of Los Bravos for many years (at least a couple of times a month). I think it’s much better than the other location I occasionally visit (Dekalb Ind. Decatur, near the hospital), in service, food quality and portion size. At either location, my favorite dish is the Carnitas, or roasted pork plate/​platter. These delicious pork chunks are fork-​tender with a bit of crust on the outside, served with onions and a spicy sauce (which gets poured over the meat). The other parts of the dish are much like a traditional Tex-​Mex fajita plate with flour tortillas, pico, quac, rice and beans. It’s delicious and enough food to split — you won’t be going home hungry in either case.
I’ve also had the huge fish tacos, the combo fajitas and the number 11 combination. All of these are very filling and well done, with burning hot plates covered in melted cheese.
This location is in the Kroger shopping center at the intersection of Johnson Ferry and Ashford-​Dunwoody. It gets busy so go early if you can. There’s plenty of room for parties on the largish side so that’s a plus if you’re going with a large lunch group. Service is very good with a knowledgeable staff. In all I’ve never had a bad experience at this location.
