My family and I stopped here just about 1 ½ hour before they closed. We were greeted kindly and the customer service was good but

I’m from the island’s and this is not authentic Caribbean food. The only reason there getting a star is because i have not option to put none. Portion size os horrible and seasonings is off no spice just salty the manager didn’t even come to sa nothing after the waitress knew our complaint i cluld even finish eating the food I took the leftovers home for my dog. When Caribbean come to the US they water down the food and the people don’t know any better. Step it up. I also witness along with my family a group of people come in sit to a table the waitresses talked amongst themselves the guest set there for 10mins and no one came to their table they got up and walked out. Horrible customer service. Also this is my 2nd time here the first time wasn’t good i thought maybe it will be a new chef but I thought wrong it’s worst and stale coco bread just microwaved i could go on and write but I hope management reads his reviews to better themselves.

The Jerk didn’t look like the jerk I recognize, but it still was good. The plaintains and the oxtail were both hittin’ as well. I recommend this place for those dishes for sure. I’m almost certain that their curry is also tasty.

Only orderer to go. Jerk chicken dinner and 2 beef patties. Nice place on a sketchy weed scented block full of dealers and homeless folk 2 stores down. About the food… Meh. The plate was small but the jerk seasoning was decent. I had literally 2 slices of plantains with my dish that looked really sad and lonely frfr. The best thing to memory was the staff. 3 nice looking sisters(all flavors including a Lil golden eyed one in training by some dude that was booty watching the staff members while conducting training) ain’t mad at ya bruh. The place is nice n spacious, reminded me of some spots in Brooklyn. I’d try em again but only of its on my route.

Food was decent. Not bad, but not great. Hot sauce wasn’t hot. Neither one(they had a few). The amount of food given was good for the money. I just wished it was seasoned better.(I had the oxtail meal).

Very nice atmosphere. Great staff. Very tasty food. Even the kids found something they wanted. We were in a hurry and the food came out quickly so that was a big plus. I will definitely be back.

They have the Best Bread pudding I ever tasted. Cant remember if it was Rum raisin or Banana. Caught me by surprise because I ordered it for someone else. Dam! I mean that. I recommend.I ordered Stewed Chicken. My favorite at most Carribean restaurants. Well Dressed Plate but not the large servings I’m used to. Still tasty. Love the staff. Very welcoming.Used to work right across the street at Sweet Auburn but that’s another review.Holler.You gotta try that Pudding!

Love love love this place! Hands down, best Caribbean food I’ve had in Atlanta. I come here often and enjoy the food. The service was good, however, after scarfing down an entire plate of curry chicken, I saw they had a restaurant score of 85. Come on Mango’s! Get that score up because this will prevent me from coming back in the future. Please don’t make me wait! Overall rating from me would be 3.5 stars with low score but I would give 10 stars for at least a 90 and above.

After finishing an outreach mission a few of my friends and I decided to grab a bite to eat b/c we were hungry. So we ended up here. We waited over an hour for our food(at this point we were Hangry), which was brought out to the table piping cold. We were missing several items such as plantains, coco bread, napkins and sauce. Not to mention other tables had ate and left after we were seated. Shall I mention that this is the worst Caribbean food I’ve had. I really tried giving them a chance but after 3 visits I don’t get or see the hype. I’d rather drive to the east side of town and get my Caribbean food than to eat here again.(I work about a mile away from this place but I’d rather be hella late and drive clear across town for friendlier service and much better tasting food) Jerk Chicken doesn’t taste grilled more like baked then pan seared. Tilapia is extra salty or shall I say it more like ordering salt with a side of fish. The pasta is as boring as eating a bowl of Top Ramen with no seasoning packet. Plantains were meh. The only thing that is good is the mango lemonade. So back to my latest dining tragedy… Out of the blue this guy who was dressed like Freddy Kruger came to the table to inquire of our dining experience. He did not announce who he was or give his name. When we voiced our horrible dining escapade he blamed the printer on why our food was late and cold. Really bruh… The printer??? After emphasizing our displeasure, Tru as he is called waitstaff just walked away. No offering of any compensation. That’s ok b/c this review will find its way via FB, Unilocal,YP, Google and any other mediums your company is listed.(Bad management /owner named Tru)

Okay. Maybe if I had never had Jamaican food and was drunk I would have so loved this place. Like if it was 2am amd the pickings were slim… I could appreciate this place for sure… possibly. But alas… I came here for a regular old dinner and myself and a coworker left disappointed. I ordered the jerk tofu, with rice and peas, cabbage and plantains. She ordered the jerk chicken, same sides and a beef patty. First mine. The jerk was meh. It was like they had some bottle of super hot jerk sauce and poured it all over everything and cooked it. Too much sauce and it was okay. The rice was alright and everything else was cold. The 2 stars are for the fact that they had tofu as an option at all. That was nice. And that it wasn’t terrible. It just existed. My coworker had her jerk chicken taken off the bill it was so cold(as previous Unilocalers have stated). It was shameful really. I think she sort of liked her patty. The service was terrible. Nobody acknowledged us for at least 5 – 7 minutes after we sat ourselves per their signs request. This is with 5 staff members chatting amongst themselves and one other party at the restaurant. Just skip it. Without a doubt there are better Jamaican or Caribbean spots in the ATL.

When this spot first opened it was good quality Caribbean food. Went back after a year and it’s gone done hill to me. More disappointing than the food was the outright nastiness of the bathrooms. I mean like WTF kinda of nasty. I can’t bring myself to go back.

This is by far the best place for Caribbean ox tails, seasoned perfectly. As you walk in, there’s a sign that tells the patrons this is a self seating restaurant. I interpret that to mean a serving staff will eventually acknowledge me and assist me from my table. Wrong!!! The past few times I’ve gone, I had to go to the counter to place my order, the server did not visit the table after she delivered my food. I was very disappointed, the restaurant was not busy, yet my service sucked. Nonetheless, this place is a must try. Hopefully, I’ll receive better service next time.

Love Love Love Mangos! My friend took me here and I was not disappointed. I had their jerk chicken sandwich, cabbage, spiced rice, beef patty, and a ting. Only got so much because I wanted to try a lot of different things. EVERYTHING was great and reasonably priced. Will be returning!

My friends and I decided to try Mango’s on a Monday night because of the good reviews we had heard. When I first entered Mango’s, the servers seemed under distress due to a large party and the influx of dinner patrons that had just came along with me. After I was seated and given a menu I decided to order a curry chicken patty and some sorrel while waiting in my friends. That curry chicken patty was LIFE, but the sorrel tasted wayyyy too syrupy. So when my friends arrive, we decide to order, I ordered the brown stew tilapia. It was mediocre at best. It tasted like ketchup was used instead of a real tomato base. Either way, I took a few bites of the tilapia, and ate all of the Cabbage then set it aside. It was quite a large portion might I add. Service overall was great, I’ve just had better Jamaican cuisine. The highlights of this restaurant has to be the curry chicken patty, free parking, the prices for the portions, and student discounts.

Being the caribbean man that I am. I am an avid lover of authentic caribbean cuisine. Mangos is a very spacious location located in the heart of downtown Atlanta. The staff is always friendly and provide excellent service. Being the full time student I am, I love the 10% discount they give to Georgia State Students! The ambience there is amazing. Before you walk in the door you melodic sounds of reggae music kills the air. Before I order I have to get either a beef patty or a jerk chicken patty(with the coco bread) lol! My go to entrée is the Oxtails! But they also make a to die for Estovich fish! Mangos definitely has the all the requirements of a dope authentic caribbean cuisine restaurant.

Went here for dinner on Friday night. The place was not packed for a late Friday night which was good. The food was really good although it was cold. I got the oxtail dinner. The mango lemonade was ok. Not a big lemonade fan but tried it anyway. The negative(unfortunately) was the wait time to be recognized by a waiter after seating ourselves was rather long. I noticed that other tables were complaining about the same problem. It took a very long time just to get a menu let alone a drink. Nevertheless, the food is good and they are open til 4am. Definitely, a plus to keep me coming back.

The best Jamaican food in ATL. I frequent this spot far too often for their delicious fresh Caribbean food. My absolute favorite is the Brown Stew tilapia fish and it comes with rice & beans, plantains, and cabbage. A close runner-up is the jerk chicken with roti skin. My boyfriend’s favorite is the Curry Chicken. The only thing that I didn’t like here was the Jerk Tofu because it is very VERY spicy but everything else that I’ve tried was delicious. They offer GSU students a discount. On Mondays everyone gets $ 2 off a meal. They are open until 4AM on weekends. Can you get any better than that? The food here is delicious and in large portions! I’m getting hungry just thinking about it!

My new spot I’ve ate here an entire week. The food is piping hot. The portions is amazing. It’s season to the T! The staff is wonderful, ! I’ve only did takeout only. I haven’t went to sit down. I’ve tried the beef stew, curry chicken, plantains, coco bread & jerk chicken. The jerk chicken to spicy for me ! I would recommend this place to everyone

I noticed Mangos while I was on the streetcar and decided to get off at the Auburn at Piedmont stop. Since there is no one at the front of the house to greet you, just find a sit. I did mention to one of the members of the staff where I would sit. He mentioned someone would be over with a menu however, he came back and presented it to me and later took my order. I ordered the curry chicken. It was complemented with rice and peas, cabbage and plantain. The chicken is prepared with the bone-in(which I how I prefer it). The chicken and the accompanying side dishes were good! The mango lemonade was good. Besides the slight service delays, Mangos’ being next to the streetcar stop makes a future visit convenient when using transit downtown.
