Best dive bar in Atlanta. Super chill atmosphere, and the best cheese fries, buffalo chicken quesadilla and wings you can get at a bar.

My husband and I came back after 29 years and were thrilled with both the feeling that nothing had changed and the improvements/expansion of the menu. We used to come for a pitcher of PBR and a couple of mojo burgers because it was good and fit into our grad student/intern budgets. Today he had the double mojo burger and I had the shrimp tacos– good as always. We skipped the PBR and had a Stella and a Pinot noir instead. Still a great way to spend the afternoon! Friendly staff and good service.

I may be a little biased due to the fact that my parents starting coming here in the 70s and heard the stories since I’ve been little and the fact that I love dive bars because they typically aren’t pretentious and it’s a little more low key. We had our dog with us so we sat outside and the bartender waited on us since we were there for lunch and he was the only wait staffer there. The queso and salsa is a good choice for an appetizer but if you’re there by yourself it’s enough to be a meal. My girlfriend had the black bean burger which was really good considering it’s a dive bar. The fries were also really good. I have the nachos because apparently the queso and salsa wasn’t enough Tex-Mex for one sitting but they were also good. The have a pretty good beer menu with Hopslam currently on tap so I had a pint before switching to what Moes and Joes is known for, The Finest aka PBR tall boys. One thing I will say for the owners is the beer menu mentioned Old Style tall boys but when I ordered one the bartender said they no longer carry it so the menu needs updating on that item or they need to carry it again but it’s not like it’s some wine spirit that is expected at a bar to be run properly. Can’t wait to come back and try the trivia everyone talks about.

Perfect bar. Not too loud, divey ambiance, stellar waitstaff. My favorite patio on nice days. Outstanding bar food both in terms of quality and affordability(onion rings, mojo burgers, and wings are my usual go-to’s, but it’s all great). Best special in the city($ 3.5 pitchers Tuesday) and best trivia in the city(8:30 on Wednesday). Call it alcohol dependency, but I can’t go a week without a night at moes.

exactly what you want a Bar to be, laid-back, right here on the main strip of Highland which in my opinion is one of the nicest areas in Atlanta to hang out in, no highfalutin yuppie attitude or Narcissistic intellectuals.

The guy that came wait up to our booth after we sat ourselves at 12:15am Saturday night. Well after sitting there 10 minutes. He walks over slaps down this small menu. says what would u like to drink… we both said water because we don’t really drink alcohol… Then he said«oh y’all want to eat…» We said yes and he said very very nasty«the kitchen is closed». The way he said it was extremely rude if I had not already was mellow out I would have asked for the manager… But I will call to this place tomorrow Sunday to speak with the management to air my grievances.

For what it is, a simple bar with cheap food and beer, this place is fantastic. It’s my favorite spot for Atlanta Hawks games, and the trivia is really fun. Their beer selection is satisfying, and they have a lot of fun bar snacks.

This place is great! I work in the area so I just stopped in. The bartender is cool as hell and knows everyone. Also this pitcher of beer was $ 5.00… Yes you heard $ 5.00!!! Come here. Drink beer. Be happy… And no I don’t work here nor am I best friends with the bartender. I just love a good local bar!

We came to try the famous MoJos $ 3.00 burger which was awesome! The inside has the feel and look of a dive bar that’s a great place for drinks with friends. They also have a great little outdoor seating area. Moe and Joes is a fun little restaurant/bar with great food. They offer a good mix of different foods from loaded fries, burgers, sandwiches, tacos, but we came for the MoJo burger! The burger is a basic burger but, cooked and seasoned perfectly plus can’t beat the price tag of $ 3.00. You have the option of adding different cheeses and other toppings. I ordered cheddar Chelsea with a side of onion rings instead of fries. My husband ordered the double with fries and was very pleased! I liked how laid back and casual Moe and Joe’s was at lunch. The staff were very friendly and nice, service fast!

Came here on a Sunday. They have horrible customer service and there was no manager in the restaurant. We ordered drinks and our water came out with the drinking cups placed in it… which I think is disgusting. Some people in our party ordered drinks that they didn’t have and instead of yelling us they just didn’t bring the drinks. The food was tasty until I found a hair in my wings. They didn’t apologize or over any thing else. The waitress literally said ok and left. She then came back with the bill and charged me for 10 wings instead of the 20 we ordered. She slammed the bill on the table and walked away

This place is both affordable, cute and kitschy, divey, and worth the parking hassle. The prices are amazing(Tuesday pitchers for 3.50 $!) and the food is excellent. Taste is awesome, can’t beat the prices. We got the mojo burgers(with fries and sweet potato tots) for 3 $ a piece(4.50 $ for sweet potato tots)! Absolutely amazing. When we first got in, they confused our drink order, but our server corrected it very quickly and without any complaints or hesitation(thankfully). Our server was also extremely patient since we had no idea what to order and took our time. Our neighbors got the wings and they were gone almost instantly — besides smelling fantastic, I am sure that means they were delicious too. This is a great spot to hang out and people watch — they won’t rush you out the door or give you any problems with staying as long as you like!

This place is an institution in the Virginia Highlands as it’s been around since the 40s. They recently expanded the location by taken over the Cavern space which has made the restaurant much more open and roomy. They speak very highly of their chicken wings and their wings are very good. But be careful with the spice level as they are hotter then your average wings.

My partner and I moved from New Orleans in October. We were searching for a great dive bar with good eats and cheap drinks. We found most of this from Moe’s and Joe’s. Walking in to the bar, directly to your right is a bar with PBR on tap and $ 1 popcorn. Classic red leather booths adorn the restaurant with walls decorated with sharpie love notes. The menu details the history of the bar and showcases $ 7PBR pitchers. Call drinks were on the higher end; if you’re a liquor drinker expect demand prices. Overall– Fun spot in Virginia Highlands. We’ll be back.

I don’t know if it was the writing on the wall(graffiti) or just the super casual«feel» to this place that made us have such a great time. Or it could be the great service and awesome bar food as well. :) My friends and I were looking for something low key and totally casual and this hit the mark. It’s always packed in here so I’m glad that we finally tried it. We started with the MoJo Fries — yes yes and more yes to melted cheese, bacon, scallions, and jalapenos on it — Delicious! We got the super hot wings and they didn’t disappoint. It doesn’t hit you right away, but be prepared for the next day — lol. Loved the homemade blue cheese dressing as well. As if our mouths weren’t burning already, we wanted to continue the torture with the Firecracker burgers(love that there were 3 and plenty more white cheddar cheese and chipotle aioli). I’ll definitely be back(especially for a hangover meal). PS — plenty of beers on tap, but best chill beer of all is PBR on tap($ 7.50 for a pitcher)!!

True definition of a «dive bar». We stopped by for a late night drink. The hawks were in the midst of there win streak so everyone was crowded around television with drinks. The drinks were strong, company good and the servers quick on there feet. The patio looks to be a nice spot on a spring summer day. This is a spot that I wouldn’t mind visiting a few more times. Not sure if your yuppie or uptight friends will enjoy it.

Just got off a flight from Boston and came in here to grab some food around 1030pm. Definitely a no thrills grab your own table and wait kind of place. We got a pitcher of beer fish tacos fried chicken tacos and a buffalo quesadilla. I thought all of the food was tasty, server was great and bill was cheap. Will definitely return next time I’m in ATL!
