Avoid this spot. It is less than 5 mins from my house and I have tried to give them multiple chances. I have been served cold pork, dry pork, grainy turkey, cold wings, and DRYBRISKET. I understand that there other location is much better and if I could give them any credit it would be for there greens.

The meat didn’t seem fresh. It was a bit dry. The customer service was good. And the pork rinds were great, those were fresh.

I’ve dined here a few times and the food has always been consistently tasty. It’s nothing to write home about but it’ll get the job done. However, this particular location really needs to work on their customer service. I’ve called to place a pickup order twice now and have gotten the same girl who is just incredibly unfriendly and frankly — a huge mood killer. She’s short with her responses and somehow managed to make me feel like I was a terrible person for even calling them and bringing them my business. Pig-n-Chik, may I recommend someone who has a little life to them answering your phones? And once you get inside the place, it doesn’t get much better — I’m assuming majority of their staff are college kids who make it clear they don’t want to be there. Again, a mood killer. You have a charming place, decent food — don’t ruin it with shitty customer service. If you fix that issue — you’ll have a gem.

The food was just OK, nothing extraordinary. I had the pulled pork plate with Mac and cheese and baked beans. The pulled pork was good, The Mac and cheese was dry and bland, the baked beans were not as seasoned as they could have been, and I loved the hush puppies but you only get 4 small ones for a little over $ 2. I seriously want to like this place because it’s so close to my job. I’ll try something else next time. *fingers crossed*

I came here with my girlfriend due to two free sandwich coupons we received as a promotion from her apartment complex. We both for the rib sandwich with collared greens on the side. This was our first time buying barbeque, and it was an overall satisfactory experience. However, the number of bones in her sandwich greatly exceeded the number in mine. Perhaps they should find a way to make that more consistent. The sauce was on point. The collared greens were very good as well, although I would personally have preferred them to be cooked more. The service was good, friendly and accommodating, and the portion size is very standard. Would come again due to good marketing.

Not terrible BBQ, but completely outclassed by almost everyone else. I had the ribs and the smoked wings. There were both very tender and incredibly dry. It seemed like they had either been over cooked or cooked at too high a temperature. You will find much better BBQ at Fat Mats, Pig and the Pearl, Twin Smokers, and Heirloom BBQ. This was about as good as Sonny’s or Shane’s. I was expecting better out of a place that has been around this long. Staff was very friendly and their sauces are great.

This place is A-OK! I got their Combo #1 and here are my thoughts… Pulled Pork — Tender pulled pork with chunks of bark mixed it! Very nice! Chicken — Awesome! Definitely my favorite part of the whole plate! I’d never had smoked chicken before, but now I’m in love! The smoke just brings out and enhances all of the flavors that are already in the chicken! And the meat was still very moist, tender and juicy! Beef — I didn’t know what to expect from this«beef». I wondered if they meant brisket? But no! It looked completely different from any brisket I’ve ever seen. There was a nice layer of bark still attached to each slice and the meat was falling apart! It wasn’t quite as juicy as the rest of the meat, but it’s great flavor would put it in second — better than the pork! Steamed broccoli — Exactly what the menu calls it. Steamed broccoli. It’s certainly nothing special. But after filling up on meat, I was happy to take it home and have it with my eggs for the breakfast the next morning. Fries — Probably the only disappointing part of the plate. I’m pretty sure these crinkle cut babies came from the freezer. This place had nice people, easy parking and fast service. Not bad if you want to try some BBQ, but want to avoid the lines and high prices of some other places in town.

A great little BBQ joint in the city. The pulled pork is just awesome and their North Carolina sauce is just about perfect. They have a nice patio for sitting as well as the dining room. This place gets pretty crowded for lunchtime being close to Emory and the CDC. The Brunswick Stew has nice and chunky, the collards are very nice. The mac n cheese leaves a little to be desired though. It’ll be very hard to go wrong here.

The ribs were overcooked and just not good. The fried okra was ok. The mac and cheese was nothing to write home about. Portion was really small for the price. I ended up with a raging case of heartburn as did my friend who ate there as well. Save yourself and go eat barbecue somewhere else.

Just not very good. I’ve only one attempt, but it will be my last. The pulled chicken was dry to the point of nearly crispy and the coleslaw was warm, and had a terrible smell, to the point I did not eat it. I recommend you pass and head to some good BBQ, like DBA.

I don’t get why this place has any bad reviews. The food is amazing and the portions are great. I have never left and not been miserably full. The combo #2 is the way to go, that way you can sample everything they have to offer. The ribs fall off the bone and are very smokey. The smoked meats are delicious and I can’t pic a favorite. The smoked wings have plenty of flavor with or without sauce. Their original sauce is sweet and yummy and the mustard sauce is sour and spicy. I don’t care for their version of Carolina sauce. I come here every time I’m in Atlanta. And just to touch on the gentleman that claimed this is a «republican/fox news» kind of place, I think he’s wrong. My partner and I have eaten here and never felt unwelcome. Oldies on the radio and golf on the tv.

Yes, this Pig n Chik definitely needs to up its game. Twice I’ve placed a phone order for smoked & buffalo wings. Theirs ARE the best in the Emory/DH area. However, they have had terrible customer service each time. Last time, I was overcharged. This time, they left my order sitting in plain sight for 10 minutes without calling my name, even though I had let them know I was there and paid. Both times they gave me a very small portion of celery and/or carrots and dip compared to the number of wings. I bought 40 wings and only got 2 measly 1.5 oz containers of salad dressing/dip.

Three stars is just about right for this place. We just moved into the area and have always noticed cars outside, seems to be really adore by the locals… Though I like the community atmosphere, this place leaves something to be desired in terms of BBQ. This is one of the places that«does BBQ in a pinch» if you know what I mean. Also, there smoked wings are kind of a let down especially since they charge extra and aren’t always in stock.

I ordered the L. Pepper, BBQ and Plain wings with Mac+Cheese and BBQ Beans for the big fight. The prices are great and the food was great. Everything was executed on time and the guests loved the wings. Pig-n-Chik probably has the best value for quality wings in Atlanta

It was Dry dry dry. I had the rib sandwich and it took two cups of water to swallow. The sauce was nothing but sugar(likely white sugar) and ketchup. The potato salad was bland and the pecan pie was store bought somewhere. Oh well. The décor was nice for a bbq joint.

Meh, The BBQ is good, not great. I ordered to go But it’s really annoying when they charge .50 cents for a paper plate, an extra $ 1 for a sauce that the wings aren’t normally served with,(that’s a first). I first ordered delivery and got the impression that I might get the food some time next week so I went to pick it up. Great call because they seemed to have forgotten about it. In general just kinda rude people. I tried to break the ice with a joke and let’s just say there was no sense of humor. Pulled pork and smoked chicken were small portions. The fried okra and potatoe salad was awesome. Sucks because I just moved to the neighborhood and was hoping for a great new bbq joint. Sadly won’t go back unless desperate. Bad Mojo.

On a scale of 1*=inedible and 5*=IHM community BBQ, this pig-n-chik gets a 2.5 Reason? Ribs. I do not have a clue as to where they get the ribs but I’m guessing that they are frozen and from Denmark. I also tasted the brisket. Both had a hint of animal fat smoke flavor. Good BBQ does NOT burn fat in the cooker/pit/smoker/… Of the three pig-n-chiks I’ve visited, it’s in the middle. Roswell Rd… have they ever cleaned their cooker? Gets a 2. P’Tree Ind gets a 3.

This is my fourth time visiting the Briarcliff location. The staff was extremely helpful in explaining the menu to my mother. We each ordered a pulled pork sandwich. She got a side of perfectly cooked, well seasoned collard greens. I got sizzling hot, cooked to order fried okra and an interesting take on Brunswick Stew. The stew had an authentic flavor, but instead of shredded meat they had big chunks of pork and chicken. I’m certainly not complaining. We also added four delicious smoked wings and two big, juicy ribs to our order. The meat is the star here. No fancy rubs, no gourmet garbage… just true, honest smoked perfection. There are several sauces from which to choose, but honestly, the meat holds it’s own without anything added.
