Premier Care For Women

Before coming in for an appointment, I clarified with my insurance that my procedure would be covered. Before the procedure, I double checked with the nurse and the doctor that my procedure would be 100% covered.
My procedure was not covered.
I spent 8 months calling Premier Care’s billing department and my insurance with no luck. Each person denied responsibility and they sent me back and forth, refusing to own up to what they originally told me. This was by far the worst doctor’s office experience I’ve ever had.
It’s now been a year since my appointment, and after trying 4 times, I still can’t get access to my test results that I had to pay hundreds of dollars for. Don’t bother forking out the $ 4 for parking and wasting the time to make an appointment here.

While a three star rating might normally deter me from picking a certain medical practice over another, here I think it’s exactly what the rating says: A-​OK. While I’d love a more personal practice with shorter wait times, more efficient billing practices and free parking, Premier Care is in fact A-​OK. The doctors and nurses are competent and provide good medical advice and services. While you can wait in exam rooms for 30 min+ to see a doctor, you’re always at least brought back quickly and they can conduct most diagnostic services and lab work within the practice (no traipsing around to a separate place to draw blood, etc). And while I’m always charged a copay to see a doctor even though I don’t have one with my insurance, the correct amount is always refunded at the end of the month after they get the reconciliation from my insurance. And I guess $ 4 for parking isn’t that bad, though the cash only thing is a little annoying.
TL;DR Typical average experience in modern American healthcare.

I love this practice! As a new patient, I loved the convenience of requesting an appointment online. Their response to my request was very prompt — less than 24 hours! The woman who called to confirm my appointment was the sweetest, reminding me of a Southern grandma. She was very informative and made finding the office/​parking very easy!
Filling out paper work can normally take up a lot of time at a first appointment; however, Premier Care For Women once again does an excellent job at making the process more efficient. The paperwork can be filled out in advance online, on your own time.
The overall appointment was great — as great as a gynecologist annual appointment can be — I mean it can be a nerve-​wracking experience, but they made it a comfortable experience. The practice is very well-​organized, and I felt as if I barely even had to wait to be seen. I highly recommend Dr. Jennifer Lyman. She was very patient and took her time to talk through my medical history, and provide well thought-​out recommendations.
I definitely recommend Dr. Jennifer Lyman and this practice. This seems to be one of the few doctors offices that I’ve come across that truly values the time of their patients and strives to provide a quality, yet efficient experience.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
As a physician myself, I think I have reasonable expectations for other doctors and practices, and I understand how to navigate the medical system. However, this place makes it really difficult. I’ve been here twice now, and have had really bad experiences each time.
My first time, I was there for over 2 hours for a medical visit, in which I spent 15 minutes with the doctor. I was just being transported from room to room waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting. I know these things happen, so I thought I’d give it another chance.
I had to return as one of my tests were sent improperly the first time. Not my fault. My second time there, I arrive, pay the 4 dollars CASH for parking, only to find out that they no longer take my insurance. My insurance hadn’t changed and the appointment was booked months in advance. So they basically told me that I would have to be self pay, and it would be hundreds of dollars to have my testing resent. SERIOUSLY?
It is common courtesy to call patients and notify them when policies change, especially if my insurance is already on file there. I’d recommend saving yourself the hassle and finding a different practice. It’s unfortunate cause the docs are good, there’s just a lot of other BS you have to deal with. NEVER AGAIN!

Love my doctor although I hate all the aspects of dealing with premier care for women From never getting a human to answer my calls, to having to schedule so far in advance for available appointment, to paying $ 4 to never find an easy parking spot in the parking garage. I always have long waits for my dr to come in my room while I sit naked in a paper gown. If I was as late as my doctor always is then I would be turned away for service. I have seen this happen to many and it almost happened to me today. I promptly asked for my medical records and was quickly given another appointment time slot while there. God forbid you have a billing issue because the billing department is borderline rude. I must say there is one stand out lady that has always been wonder to work with and her name is Sandy Wheeler. Besides Sandy and Dr. Arkin nothing is redeeming about this practice. I find the entire experience exhausting. I adore Dr. Arkin but due to the difficulties I have had for 8 years I would never recommend Premier Care For Woman.

I like Dr. Arkin and Dr. Cummings, although I agree with all other reviewers that you feel rushed and they don’t create an atmosphere where you feel like you can really talk about your problems, which I think is important in women’s healthcare. The staff and administration is absolutely terrible. It’s a game of whose answering machine they will transfer you to next. While all answering machines inform you that your phone call will be returned within 24 hours, it usually does not happen until 3 days later, or longer, or never. So if you are calling on a Friday, don’t expect to hear back until the following Tuesday, unless you are calling to make an appointment. I cannot even confirm that they have received my medical records release form because they transfer me to an answering machine that tells me that they only work on Mondays and Thursdays and although getting your records takes «3 to 5 business days» there is no telling how long it will take me since I can’t even confirm they have received my fax. I’d be more than happy to go there in person and pick them up, but they won’t commit that they can have them ready for me then. It is very disrespectful to patients and their time and I believe the doctors need to address this issue. There are plenty of doctor’s offices that can actually address your question with a real person if you call during office hours. Even if you have to be on hold for a few minutes, it’s still better than getting an answering machine to nowhere.

HOW HARD IS IT TO «FAKE» INTEREST FOR TEN MINUTES?
I saw Dr. Laura Cummings several months ago for an initial evaluation to discuss some on-​going symptoms. The initial contact/​exam went well and we sat down to discuss the results. I could see the document sitting in front of her with the words obese in big bold letters. Now this did not bother me because it was accurate. Unknown to the doctor, I had been working out daily and had lost almost 30 lbs before this appointment. Since the symptoms had started suddenly after I had already lost a significant amount of weight, I did not believe they were related to my weight.
As she was giving me her clinical impressions, I noticed that she did not mention my weight which was strange, especially since this was an initial appointment. I just believe that if you take the time to document a problem, it should be addressed. As I began to speak and further share my concerns, I noticed that she seemed to just check out, (hands resting on her lap, head tilted to the left and a gazed look on her face). In the middle of my conversation the very slim Dr. C interrupted to say «I work out everyday». Sorry Dr. C but I thought that we were discussing me, the patient. While I realized that this was the mother of all Freudian slips, it spoke volumes.
I spent a lot of time processing this situation and realized that I needed to find a doctor who is able to see beyond my weight but is not reluctant to discuss it if necessary. I also need to know that we have a mutual relationship where we are able to listen to one another and remain engaged throughout the conversation. Needless to say, I now have a different doctor.

It’s hard to find a doctors office these days where you don’t feel like a number. I’m generally turned off by large practices, as in my experience, you lose some of the personal touch of the smaller offices. That being said, I think Premier does a pretty good job managing the volume. I’ve found that the entire staff has been friendly and accommodating, and I’ve never had to wait very long past my appointment time. After reading some reviews, I tend to think some people show up with an attitude and then wonder why they their asses aren’t kissed when they walk in. Be pleasant, and in most cases, you’ll get pleasant in return.
Although I can’t vouch for other doctors, Dr. Aqua is great! She always listens and spends as much time as she needs Toole sure all of the bases are covered.
As for the $ 4 parking, it’s listed on their website, and they typically remind you when you make appointments. It is cash only, which sucks, but that up to the building owner/​manager, not Premier. Most hospitals/​doctors buildings have paid parking, so it is what it is.

This office is great. I’ve been seeing Dr Jennifer Aqua for about 2 years now, and I love her! She is very friendly and makes you feel very comfortable and at ease. The front desk is friendly and efficient. I would recommend this practice, and Dr Aqua to anyone.
The only thing I dislike is the parking is $ 4 and it’s cash only. I always forget!

If you’re thinking about coming here take my advice and DO NOT! I’ve been coming here for about 2 years, simply because I was too lazy to find a new ob gyn. This practice will not auto bill. I travel for work and am gone for weeks at a time, sometimes more for certain projects. I missed the bill (which I’ve asked numerous times to be auto billed for) and the billing manager would not remove the $ 10 late fee and was quite rude and loud in an attempt to embaress me. I’ve never been treated like this and refuse to come back due to their poor customer service.
Front Desk Staff: Rude and cold
Dr. Reddy: She was ok, but not very warm
Billing Manager: RUDE, RUDE, RUDE
Parking: $ 4 GIVE ME A BREAK!

This is one of the best offices I’ve been to. I have been seeing Dr. Lyman and she is kind, patient, actually listens and explains everything so well you feel completely comfortable. The staff was great to me, it was fast and the nurses are actually hilarious, which is a nice change for a doctor’s office. would highly recommend her and this office to anyone looking for a new doctor. Unlike many of these other comments, they didn’t hassle me about my insurance and they had me fill out necessary paperwork (which most do) and it was organized and efficient, not «factory» like. Again, I would recommend Dr. Lyman to everyone, you don’t find many doctors like her.

I don’t really like to review healthcare providers because I recognize it is a personal choice. However my experience here was so bad, I feel compelled to share.
— Saw Dr. Sujatha Reddy. She is absolutely NOTHING like the kind persona she portrays on tv. She is condescending, rude, and arrogant. Hands down the nastiest provider in any medical specialty I have ever encountered. She just does not care.
— Front office staff is cold. They mess up appointment times and don’t apologize for their errors.
— Good luck trying to get anyone to call you back if you have a question about a test or medication.
— Parking is $ 4, cash only.
There are many other options out there for healthcare providers. If you are on the fence about trying this place, I would suggest you look elsewhere. It is a poorly run, uncaring place. I know that is a harsh review but it is what I experienced.

Well, I still think Dr. Cummings is a good GYN, BUT I am disappointed with the staff. I’ve called several times regarding some side effects I am having and also issues with my insurance not covering certain medications (so I needed to have a different prescription called to my pharmacy). When the nurse called back she was a bit rude. They have my pharmacy number on file so why make it an issue that I didn’t leave the number when I called and left a message? So we had a back and forth and when I brought up the horrible side effects I’ve been experiencing for the past couple of weeks, the nurse seemed more annoyed than understanding. Although she said (several times) that my constant headaches really concerned her, when I asked her to if I should be worried she brushed it off and told me that those can be a side effect with any medication, etc… So why keep bringing up that it really concerns you? Pick a side.
Well, I called my pharmacist before I called the nurse and they expressed a lot of concern about the headaches as well since this medication can cause blood clots and possibly stroke. Not something to laugh about or brush off. Not to mention I *have* to stare at a computer screen for most of the day and the low-​grade migraines make me want to choke myself out… Oh yeah, the nurse waited two business days to return my call after she said she’d ask the doctor and call me back. That’s okay, who needs to get any work done?
Oh and if you happen to have complications after hours you can’t even leave a message. If you have them paged they charge you $ 25!!! I’ve never heard of that before in my life.
Separate issue but worth mentioning: The receptionist today was very argumentative when I called up to the office to clarify that I’d already had an annual in January of this year, therefore I don’t need another one until next year. I was told that I was due for one next month and they would not refill my prescription after that unless I came in for an annual. Then I was told that I don’t have to get an annual but I have to come in to see her for a consultation. Umm, excuse me? That’s why I forked over $ 50 last month… You’re telling me that I need to come back in before I’m given a refill a couple of months later?!? Or I need to go back to the last place I got my annual and get them to write a prescription? What kind of crap is that?! Then she sent me to the nurse’s voicemail. Yeah, I’m sure she’ll get right on that.
Fail.

Pay parking ($ 4) is a given for any of the office buildings around Northside hospital, so it was annoying but not surprising. I had an appointment set for 1:30pm (arrived at 1:25pm) and had to wait 30 mins even though I brought in all patient forms pre-​filled in hard copy and electronic form (already pre-​sent and stored on their network files). It was annoying since i watched other patients with later appointment times being helped before me. This was out of my network, so it costs $ 35 upfront (still have to check on this). As for Dr. Cummings’ services, she was very friendly and nice but I felt rushed and we didn’t really get to discuss my other options over birth control but instead automatically fell onto Yaz since I expressed some concerns over it. Also, I mainly wanted to discuss birth control options to help balance my hormones and anxiety, and we didn’t even discuss any of my concerns even though I had filled out on my paperwork that this was why I had come in in the first place (aside from having my annual exam).
Overall, nice staff but I felt like my concerns were not addressed and the service was very rushed.

I really, really love this practice and Dr. Laura Cummings. Everyone there is friendly and puts you in a calm state of mind. These kinds of appointments aren’t a blast for any woman, and I get really stressed them, but all the staff and nurses make you feel as comfortable as possible. Dr. Cummings is amazing — super sweet and really knowledgeable, and the whole process is pretty quick and painless with her.
The wait times haven’t been bad in my experience, either. I’ve gone for 2 years and both times, I got an 8am appointment, showed up around 7:50am, and was on the road and on my way to work by 8:45. Awesome!

I’ve been going to Premier Care For Women for about 3 years now. I love Dr. Reddy — she’s informative, pleasant and professional. It is a little hard to get an appointment unless it’s further out, but it’s probably because they are awesome. It is so hard to find a doctor or office you can trust, and I finally found one.

Dr. Aqua and her staff are by far the best medical staff I have encountered. I go in for regular checkups. Medical assistant, Quanita is so sweet and friendly. She makes me feel comfortable even in nerve wracking situations. Nelly, the new lab consultant drew my blood and I hardly felt the pinch. What used to be my least favorite part of my visit (the blood drain), is not so bad with good company. Finally, Dr. Aqua is very knowledgable obgyn. She is not quick to surgery unlike most surgeons. Dr. Aqua and her staff have been my saving grace. Keep up the good work ladies!

Awesome experience. I had my first appointment with Dr. Laura Cummings this morning and although I arrived late due to Atlanta traffic (go figure) they still agreed to see me. Dr. Cummings has a wonderful personality and bedside manner as the entire practice welcomed me to the facility and the area.

I love it when customer service and technology meet. I’m not sure I can say anything that hasn’t been said. I was looking for a new Dr. a year ago and was referred by a friend of a friend, and I have been completely happy since. I don’t ever feel rushed, and everyone is more than happy to answer any questions I may have. I have had a pleasant experience from check in to check out each and every time.
I can highly recommend Dr. Aqua. I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes after checking in to be taken back. My questions are thoroughly answered each time and she has taken the dread out of my appointments. If you are looking for new OB/​GYN I would definitely give them a try.

Still super happy with PMCF. Honestly, they have been one of THE most efficient medical groups I’ve ever been to, which is the reason for the update.
In the past, you could fill out your forms online and print them out. You were required to either email a copy or bring them in. Not anymore! Now, both established AND new patients can fill their forms out online and they will send directly to the office. Once you arrive to check-​in, all you have to do is add your signature.
I love the ladies there, from the front desk to the nurses to the doctors. They’re fun and friendly and make you feel so comfortable. Plus, I am in and out of there in under an hour.
