Don’t waste your time. Go next door to Marlow’s. I’m pretty sure they have better food. I ordered two fish tacos; one salmon and the Baja. The Baja taco was ok. The salmon taco was horrible. I found bones in it. The server did not check on me to see if everything was ok. I told him I was done and he came over with the bill. Ummm, no question of «How was the food?» or anything. He must’ve known the food is bad. Even the water tasted horrible.

This was the WORST experience ever. The restaurant was empty when we came in and it still took almost an hour for us to get our food. Some at our table had COLDFOOD. We repeatedly asked for the manager and was first told he cooking and then all of a sudden we were told that he left. No one seemed to know anything. I can’t stress enough DONOTGOHERE!!! Don’t even think about going here. If you are here, LEAVE.

The service at this restaurant is awful!!! We were the only group in the restaurant and it still took 45 minutes to get our food. When the food came out it was cold. We kept asking to speak to the manager and he never came out to address the issue. DONOT go there… absolutely horrible!!!

When there after my yoga class on a Tuesday, I accidentally dropped my water on the table and I was embarrased and trying my best to keep the mess at minimum. The waiter was sooooo rude, I guess he was having a bad night or something, but his level of rudeness was horrile. I asked for hot sauce and he said they did not had any, I asked for limes and did not brought them, I asked for a tres leches cake and it never came to my table either :(I wanted to cry… Although there was a very friendly waiter(attending other tables who was asking if we needed anything and helped us better than our waiter.) Tacos were ok, but I can’t have tacos without hot sauce and lime… :(

We actually ate here a couple weeks ago. I think I took this long to write this review to protect my delicate psyche from having to relive this experience. We actually went to that area to go to another restaurant. The Prickly Pear door is steps away from the Marlow’s door, so our last second impulse for Mexican food put us here. We were seated right away, so points for that, but then it was another 15 or 20 minutes before we were acknowledged by a server. Inexplicable, since we were 1 of maybe 3 tables. The restaurant décor is nice enough, so points for that as well. They also get an extra star because my tacos were decent, thus they get 2 stars & not 1. The service continued to be abysmal throughout the meal. A pet peeve of mine is having parts of your meal come out at different times. I imagine that’s a problem with the kitchen & not the server. That’s what happened here. I was unconcerned as I thought we could adjust the server’s tip down accordingly. Nope. When the check arrived, they had«helpfully» added a service charge of 18%.(I guess they assume that no one in their right mind would tip based on the service.) As a table, collectively, we rose up in anger & demanded to see the manager, who happened to be seated nearby. Here’s a tip for restaurant managers in general,(I would think this would be day 1 of restaurant management school, but apparently this guy was out that day), if your customer says he had a bad experience, sooth him & try to make the situation better. Do not try to argue with your customer that adding a service charge is your standard policy, that serving is a really hard job, that we would understand if we weren’t jerks, the tack chosen by this particular manager. I’m not sure about the legality of forcing someone to pay a service charge like that, but we paid as it seemed the only way to end this particular dining experience. We should have gone to Marlow’s.

The food is just okay and the service is slow(but extremely friendly). The redeeming qualityis for college night on Thursdays. Half priced pitchers of margs save lives, y’all.

I really don’t like leaving bad reviews but this is the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. The restaurant was almost empty and it took about 15 minutes to get us seated. After being seated, it took about 20 minutes for someone to come to our table. We ordered food and the waiter told me that the half-off appetizers were not available today(the menu stated that it was). After 30 minutes our food came out, and it was cold and tasteless. After eating, it took another 30 minutes to get our checks. To top things off, a 35% service charge was added to our check(we were a party of 2). Again, I hate leaving reviews like this but this place is awful.

Don’t think I’ve written a poor review about a restaurant. Of I have, it’s rare. The food and service was worst than a fast food place. This place probably only still open because of it’s location and and«weekly deals» I had tacos, a margarita, and queso… Tacos were soggy. Margaritas had no appeal other than to get drunk. Queso was super watery and not cheesy as all. Wtf? No f4cks given, would recommend you guys going somewhere else.

The endless Mimosas were nice, However the brisket quesadillas were dry. The lettuce and pico were old looking, not as fresh as you would expect from a Mexican themed restaurant. In addition, there’s no complimentary chips & salsa. So I ordered sum. bland and watery. Ordered the queso dip to help out the chips, it literally came in a small shallow bowl $ 5 and microwave burned.

So Prickly Pear is one my go to spots for tacos and good drinks. I am not a huge fan of many of the other foods on their menu, accept the bang bang shrimp tacos. On Tuesdays they have $ 2 Tacos and $ 4 Margaritas, but if you want to get in on this deal it’s best to head their before the college crowd comes in.(Before 9). Once the crowd gets their, the parking deck gets crowded, is it hard to find a place to sit and service becomes slow. Parking is free if you park in the Parking deck on the left hand side of the building. If the deck is fall you can always park on the street, however these fees are not free. Overall, it’s a pretty decent restaurant to try after a long day at work.

Food. Just ok. But if you order anything I recommend bang bang shrimp app, bang bang shrimp taco, any quesadilla but steak is a fav or the chorizo nachos. Those suggested are my favorites. Drinks. Amazingggg. Marco is our bartender of juice. Pineapple infused tequila shots are about $ 3 and worth every penny. And can’t forget about the Magaronitas(Margarita and Corona). Strawberry frozen margaritas. Parking. Great! Free and behind the restaurant in a parking garage. It’s definitely a weekend favorite. Tip: sit at the bar :)

Worst Mexican food! The service here is as bad as the food. The chips & salsa is so bland. Took 30 minutes for the server to bring our table this nasty ass chips & salsa! When salsa tastes like water something is definitely wrong! I dipped 3 chips till I realized that it wasn’t me. The salsa had no taste WHATSOEVER! Wtf??? After asking for salsa it took another 10 minutes for them to bring it. THISPLACEISSOEMPTY! The server then told us chips and salsa isn’t complementary. Smh. We got money! I will not Be back!

I’ve been to a handful of bad restaurants and this place falls into that group. The service was less than what should be considered fair and that was with me being as patient as possible about to walk out before finally receiving our drinks. The food is nothing to tuck your napkin in your shirt for, the La Lengua is not fresh I believe it pre frozen and then thrown on a taco, the table salsa was probably the worst part, not FRESH as salsa should be from any standard. I would only recommend this establishment at 3am after tequila shots and beer and don’t really care what you eat.

Not impressed ATALL. Chips were stale, my food came out cold. The server was super nice, but no where to be seen. Cheese dip was AWFUL. Like it came out of a box. Horrible. They seem to have an extensive menu for their tacos so I was expecting some good stuff all were poorly executed. I ordered a gyro taco and a salmon taco(was trying to be adventurous) not gonna lie I am pretty sure what I ate was neither lamb or salmon.

I have to say that these were the blandest, greasiest tacos I have ever had. I tried the beef tongue and the pastor — both came out with an oil slick pooling in the tortilla and onto the plate. Clearly very low quality meat. To top it off, there was no flavor — the pastor didn’t have any of the usual pineapple sweetness or heat; the lengua had a bit of green salsa but the flavor was drowned out by the grease. So, another shitty Mexican place in Midtown. When will I learn?!!

This is a trendy place to get lunch or dinner. Usually when I come here the service is a little slow. Unless you go on $ 2 taco Tuesday, the menu is a little pricey for the type of food. In the evenings, the restaurant gets really poppin’. They have a fully stocked bar, and one of their specialties is a margarita with a corona stuck in it. The food is pretty tasty and easy to eat(tacos can become difficult if they fall apart).
