I’ve never felt like more of a hipster than when I visited this place.(I mean that in a good way). I had the grilled cheese it was pretty tasty but not the best I’ve ever had. The food has interesting specialty ingredients but its nothing to call home about. I didn’t even go back to snag the lemon bar I was eyeing because I was less than impressed with the sandwich. Now my coffee on the other hand was awesome, which is why I rated 4 stars. 1st and foremost they’re a coffeeshop and they more than make it know with the deliciously smooth taste of their coffee. My inner hipster was pleased with the atmosphere. I went around 230 on a Tuesday, very few people. It was quiet, the music was decent and it had that chill work vibe. Think library meets hipster lounge. I enjoyed my visit and will definitely return.

I don’t know how they do it, but they have the best cup of coffee and tea that I know of. I’d also like to say that the customer service here was incredible. The guy who made and brought out my coffee was a true gentleman and a top notch barista. If you are a coffee lover and haven’t tried this gem, put it on your to do list!

Wow, not sure if this review is going to be as helpful since Proof is already getting the well-deserved acclaim they deserve, but I don’t mind being another voice in the chorus. :) We had the soup of the day(kale and bean) and I have to say it was delicious and super savory. Their coffee(Counter Culture) is solid. We had several of their pastries and cookies later for a friend’s dinner party, which were all excellent(especially the coffee cake and their monkey bread was a surprising winner for me – a way better version of a cinnamon bun). Sometimes the croissants have been a little dry and the to-go coffee lids are precarious(we burned ourselves in the car when they both popped off), but the pastries seem great. Great service and a quiet, well-lit, and cozy place to work or meet a friend!

Proof Bakeshop is my favorite coffee shop in Atlanta. Space is small seating along the walls and outdoor. Strong espresso with milk was very wonderful and my friend got an excellent cappuccino. The staff was really friendly and knowledgeable, which is great to ask for recommendations. I definitely want to go back to this place.

Came in near closing, so selection was limited. I’ve never had a monte cristo before, but it was delicious. Service was awesome as well. Will be returning here. Interior was well lit with cozy, comfy chairs. They’ve got one of those little libraries where you can take a book and replace it with one of your own.

This is the pinnacle of cafeteria-style dining. The menu isn’t grand but everything on it is! Prices are good. Very casual but engaging environment. The staff is cool and informative. I had the smoked salmon bagel, chips, bourbon macaroons and ginger tea! My belly joined the happiness my eyes initiated! I hated that i didn’t dine in! Great people watching to be had and everyone was so friendly! I live in the area, so needless to say, you may catch me here ;-) Oh and parking is limited. My success has been parking in front of the park, just beyond the train station and walking back to Proof. Happy Dining!

They saved the day with their delicious holiday cookies! It’s hard to find a bakery around here that does more than cupcakes and cakes. Their breads looked amazing too! Staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.

I’ve only been to Proof a handful of times(and then only for caffeinated beverages and pastries), but I’ve definitely been impressed with what I’ve had! The chai is delicious and the kouign amann is my favorite pastry I’ve had so far. The bagels are also particularly excellent – best I’ve had in Atlanta for sure. It’s an adorable shop. A little pricey, but I’d like to come back and try a sandwich or one of the savory options.

Oh My Goodness! Oh My Goodness! Oh My Goodness! By far one of the BEST pastries I have ever eaten in Atlanta or elsewhere. Truth be told, I am hesitant to publish this review, because I want to be VERY selfish and keep them all to myself. I visited the shop in the hopes of finding homemade English Muffins, but they were not selling them yesterday, so I decided to try the pastries. The Chocolate Croissant was extremely tasty, just a tad sweeter than the ‘semi-sweet’ and it was the right amount… not a whole bar. :shudder: The star of the show, the Kouign-Amanns… Lord have mercy they were ridiculously good. They have to be eaten warm, so I plated them near the stove while the eggs and bacon cooked. People joke about things being better than ‘doing the nasty’… dude. Dude. DUDE! Proof Bakeshop… you guys need to make these things bigger… I. WILL. PAY. :-)

It’s like a little tart and octane combination on memorial without all the pretense and without the pour over coffee bar. Thank god. I want my coffee hot. Eaten: ham and cheese croissant, glazed donuts scallion and greyure scone. Perfect glazed donut. Warm fresh in the Krispy crème genre but with slightly more girth… and not as artificially sweet. Unlike other hipster donuts I’ve had its actually a donut not bread masquerading as a donut. Awe now I’m watching the chocolate glazed donut come out… fresh. Should I get one? Yes I will. I just hope no one finds out this coffee shop.

Homemade goodies. I had the ginger molasses lemon dessert, u see whats left of it! :) The bakery offers lots of goodies and some breakfast items. The staff was friendly, engaging, a great spot to hang with friends, family, etc. The bakery is located right near the Inman Park MARTA, so it’s very convenient. On my next visit, hmmm, perhaps, I’ll have a sandwich, since the bread is homemade.

I have been here about 5 times now and have not been disappointed yet. Their iced coffee is a comfort food for me and I keep getting the Sorpresatta sandwich. Prices are about 10% higher than I would expect for a walk-up-to-the-counter bakeshop but they haven’t let me down.

This is the place that replaced dough, the vegan bakery, so in some sense I suppose I was predisposed not to like it? But at the same time, I really wanted something good in this spot because I pass it all the time. So that probably comes out in the wash. I have only gone here for coffee/breakfast, but I have gone probably a dozen times at least. In the end, I’m not disappointed in this place but I’m also not that impressed with it. The food is pretty good but they don’t have too many veggie options. Their breakfast sandwich(egg, gruyère, ham on English muffin) can be made without the ham but the egg they put on it is basically just like a big overwhelming cube of egg substance. It still tastes really good with the gruyère and herbs and butteriness, but the cube of egg substance is so thick that it’s actually difficult to warm all the way through so you wind up getting a couple of bites of slightly cold egg. The quiche takes a long time to warm up too/does not warm up evenly, and was just ok. I loved their lemon blueberry muffins but the last 3 – 4 times I went in there they didn’t have them. I guess muffins rotate on a daily basis, and I don’t recall what they had when I was looking for the blueberry, but it wasn’t memorable enough to try. An intangible that may not be a completely fair criticism but I’m allowed to talk about the vibe as I experienced it, right? For some reason walking in here makes me feel like I’m in high school again and by that I mean — the people behind the counter AND the other customers all seem so much cooler than me and like they are all part of a clique that I am ineligible to join. The staff was NEVER rude, but seemed folksy with other customers but not really with me. It’s difficult to explain, but this is a very weird thing to experience, and a friend of mine independently said she experienced something similar. Maybe there are a lot of regulars? But for a time I was going often enough to be a regular(I never expect to be recognized anywhere, but if there WERE to be somewhere I would be recognized in mid-late summer 2015, it would have been this place). So, in the end this place made me feel a bit inadequate, which as a giant pregnant lady I don’t need, so maybe I’ll go back after I’ve lost the baby weight.

This place is awesome! I went to it this morning during a quick visit to ATL to see a friend. I loved it! The interior is adorable, and they have wifi. They have a few hot breakfast dishes and a wide array of baked goods of glory. I had the ham and Gruyère cheese on a house-made English muffin. I also split an almond croissant and enjoyed an Americano. The sandwich was great, especially the bread. But that croissant was to die for!

I dropped in today because I wanted a gingersnap cookie, and I saw that that was one of the items on their regular menu. There is parking in the front of the place — contrary to Unilocal info. The space inside has great sunlight and ample seating. There are long tables with retro chairs for people looking to hunker down and get some work done, as well as some chairs and coffee tables to the left. Not sure what the electrical outlet situation is — I’ll have to check next time. Turns out the gingersnap cookie is a sandwich with lemon cream in the middle — really good! The cookies are chewy with chunks of candied ginger. The lemon comes through nicely in the cream, and it’s not overly sweet. They brew Rishi tea, which is my personal favorite, and the barista got the steep just right for the iced preparation — served in a mason jar(of course). The summer veg sandwich, at $ 9, is pretty pricey. I enjoyed it nonetheless. Besides the thick slices of tomato, avo, and cucumber, there are shaved onions, which are pickled according to the menu, but it must be a light pickle. It’s a good, satisfying sandwich for people who really appreciate the taste and texture of veggies. I wish I had asked for toasted bread though. Unfortunately, the wireless was not very reliable(perhaps it was because I was sitting by the window?). Anyhow, that could be a bigger problem for some more than others. Otherwise, it’s a pretty nice place to get some

I’m in love with this establishment. Proof has a great location and a really open and clean space. Even in a long line it wasn’t bad waiting to order. The food is just as good as the coffee which isn’t always the case in many coffee places. The employees are so nice. They actually talk to you and hold a decent conversation — also rare in many coffee places. I’ve only been a few times, but I’m excited to make this a new must see for visitors and also add it to my list of frequent coffee locations.

Proof Bakeshop is my new addiction. I stop by here on the way in to work in the mornings when I’m not feeling my Special K breakfast bar. I’m not a coffee drinker so I am all about the baked goods. And those baked goods are good. I’m always a sucker for savory croissants. I’ve gotten the ham and cheese croissant several times and it’s always stellar. Unlike other stuffed ham and cheese croissants, this one is packed with plenty of ham and cheese. It’s sufficient to fill you up for breakfast. I’ve also tried various scones. My favorite so far has been the bacon and cheddar scone. In addition to pastries and cookies, they also sell loaves of bread. Try the sourdough. It’s pretty fantastic! They just recently started serving lunch and I’m looking forward to stopping by during lunch hours and trying some of the sandwiches.

Proof bakeshop… What can I say except great, great, great. Meaning great coffee, great people, great pastries! The coffee is Counter Culture and for those of us who appreciate good coffee it’s some of the best out there. It’s aromatic has a wonderful flavor and solidly above what’s available in chain style coffee shops. If you drink in they only have one size but it’s unlimited refills. The pastries, it’s the team behind Cakes and Ale! Fresh croissants and homemade donuts in the mornings, cookies and muffins throughout the day and they even have a store made biscotti! They also have baked loaves of bread if you want to take one home for sandwiches or a baguette to go with dinner. Exceptional across the board and lives up to the reputation of the team behind it. The people are friendly and eager to serve, with a passion for coffee and baking. If they aren’t busy they wanna chat and get to know the customers a little bit trying to build that loyal and repeat customer base. They also have a punch card, buy 9 get the tenth free! Finished off with free wifi, a large place to sit and wrk or read or socialize Proof Bakeshop has landed in the Inman park neighborhood behind One Eared Stag and won’t miss the mark. Based on the people I see in there they should be quite at home and make an awesome addition to the neighborhood.

This is one of those places where I’m hesitant to write a review, because I don’t want it to be discovered. But, based on the steady crowd we saw pour through Proof before 10am this morning, I think Atlanta aficionados of fine baked goods and coffee(Counter Culture beans!) have already discovered this new outpost from the folks behind Cakes and Ale. Proof is located behind One Eared Stag and adjacent to Dada salon, with a few dedicated parking spots immediately outside of the door, and plenty of street parking. Though it appears like a small storefront from the exterior, the interior is surprisingly spacious, with plenty of seating, encouraging you to grab a bite and stay awhile. I love the chic yet comfortable atmosphere, complete with large butcher block tables for communal seating, and the«take one leave one» book nook. Too cute! But you shouldn’t come for the atmosphere, you should come for the baked goods and coffee. I appreciated that the drip coffee, if ordered to stay, comes in a real cup with free(!) unlimited refills for less than $ 2.50. The pastry glass fronted pastry display counter was filled with temptations. While I waivered between a coffee cake with crumb topping an inch thick, chocolate chip banana bread, and a gruyère scone, I ultimately selected a sinful almond croissant that they offered to toast, which perfectly warmed the gooey almond paste filling. While the homemade, hand iced donuts they brought out later almost tempted us to get another pastry for breakfast(they’re only available Thursday-Saturday), the single croissant was really more than enough for two people to share. I can see this easily becoming a new Saturday morning tradition, and I’m looking forward to sampling their lunch service when it begins in another week. If there weren’t already enough reasons to love Inman Park, here’s another!

The Cakes & Ale team recently opened this bakery just a few days ago! I believe this place will serve as the main distributer for the restaurant’s baked goodies. Watch out TGM(The General Muir)! You’ve got some competition, and it’s already here! For those of you who are unsure of what I am talking about, TGM will also open a bakery but next door to itself to also serve as a central bakery for its sister restaurants. Anyway, in addition to providing yummy baked goodies & Counter Culture coffee, Proof Bakeshop also has plenty of seating options for those who want to chit-chat or study. During lunch hours, they have some delicious sounding sammies – will have to return for those. I came near closing time, and sadly, most of the breads were gone, but I managed to grab a baguette and a vegan Mexican chocolate cookie(you can taste that heat!). Lots of options to choose from. Specialty breads are available W & Sat. I’m hoping to try their Anadama next time(molasses & cornmeal). They’re located right off Dekalb Avenue just behind One-Eared Stag! Not too many spots available in their lot, but if you’re willing to walk a block or few, street parking is the way to go.
