Rock’s Chicken & Fries

Based on the reviews, I expected something a lot better. I had the chicken with Swiss cheese, mushrooms and onions. It was not a flavorful sandwich, despite the ingredients. Plus, it was very sloppily made, with toppings on only one-​half. Also, I thought the chicken had a funky taste to it. I work across the street from Phipps Plaza, and other people in my office have eaten here. We all agree that the food is lacking in spices. The french fries were limp, unappealing and totally flavorless. I guess this is why they have all the toppings and «homemade sauces,» to give flavor to their otherwise bland food.

First visit was awesome! The food was hot, delicious and made me want to come back! If I rated it the 1^st time it would have been 5 stars but this second time around my fries were cold and the guy waiting on me acted like he was shocked when I asked for new ones. He tried to ignore me. Not only were my fries cold but my sandwich wasn’t made correctly. My boyfriend said his sandwich was a little disappointing also. The fact we both were looking forward to coming back, this time around Rocks was complete let down.

Wanted some good fried chicken while visiting family down south (Popeye’s is as good as it gets in Washington State) and hit the jackpot here. The sandwiches and tenders are so juicy and flavorful, with delicious breading. Fresh cut fries are superb, and the sauce bar is a wonderful addition. Franchise this on the Left Coast and y’all will be rich.

Top notch chicken fingers and fries. The sauce bar is too legit, the bleu cheese is my favorite.
Bonus: the owner helped calm down a disruptive customer at the restraunt next door, which I’m sure he didn’t have to do.
Great food, great service

Chick-​Fila take notes, Rocks is what a great chicken sandwich is suppose to taste like. Deaf, organic, buttermilk dipped, moist, seasoned chicken breast. One of the best fried chicken I ever had. To die for.

I’m rarely in a mall these days but I recently found myself at Phipps Plaza. Phipps did away with their food court to make way for Legoland three years ago. Well, guess what? All those families coming to Legoland wanted something to eat and the mall scrambled to re-​introduce food. It would be hard to call the streamlined food offerings a food court.
Rock’s, with its clean black and white decorating scheme is inviting and the menu looked intriguing. I opted for the buttermilk fried chicken tenders and cole slaw. I should have listened to the counter girl who recommended against the slaw. It had some zing to it but was extremely juicy and had the taste of something prepared several days before. The tenders were uninspired, devoid of seasoning with a greasy dark batter and low on taste. They weren’t anything special. The one cool thing was a bar with multiple dressings and dipping sauces including some you don’t normally see like bbq ranch and sweet chili sauce.
I’m not sure what all the fuss is about because I found the food very average.

I never order chicken if I can help it. I’m just not a fan. I would have passed it by if it hadn’t been for the sample! Some of the most tender and moist chicken o have ever had! I’m just visiting Atlanta but I would eat this chicken every day if I could. I can’t say enough about the buttermilk ranch either!

For a fast food option, especially in a mall such as Phipps Plaza great addition to the area. I went here for lunch on a workday and was happy to select the chicken tenders with a side option. I received the small order which was 6 tenders (½ fried ½ grilled). I enjoyed the chicken it was spot on. I’ll say unless I got a salad I wouldn’t do the grilled again. The fries were lukewarm, but carrots or Cole slaw are not really options to me.
I’d return for the chicken and their sauce options.

Rock’s Chicken is a new restaurant on the top floor of Phipps Plaza, next to the Lego store. The white lighting makes it look fresh and appealing. I am glad I took the time to try this place as ultimately it paid off.
Simply stated: BEST. CHICKEN. EVER. Rock’s Chicken is now my favorite place for chicken strips. Their chicken is soft and tender. Coupled with the fries, it is the best meal you can have at Phipps Plaza. The best part is their «sauces bar.» It is basically a collection of various sauces ranging from barbecue buttermilk ranch to buffalo. I am sure there is an option for everyone.
The pricing is fair and the quantities are generous. I think it is good deal compared to the other options available. Whenever I return to Phipps Plaza, Rock’s Chicken will be my go to. I am eager to try the frozen custard and their sandwiches. I am sure those will be equally appetizing!

Rocks earns points for its chicken strips and awesome sauce bar. They also serve chicken salads, sandwiches, and frozen custard. You have the option of fried or grilled chicken strips. The fried chicken strips are good with not too much breading. The grilled chicken strips are actually seasoned and taste pretty good even without sauce. Most orders come with a side which are fries, coleslaw, carrot and celery sticks. I tried the fries and they seem to come from real potatoes and are not too soggy even though they look like they would be. I really like the sauce bar — they have about 10 different sauce and dressing options. My favorites are the sweet chili and the BBQ-​ranch combo.
Located in the Phipps plaza food court. Great stop for a quick meal before or after going to the movies or legoland.

Finally, something new in the not-​really-​a-​food-​court food court that is Phipps Plaza eats. Thanks to Lego Discovery Center moving in, the inexpensive eating options have been cut in half. But now, there is Rock’s and I am thrilled! I mean, who doesn’t love great fried (or grilled) chicken that isn’t fast food… all natural, antibiotic free, fresh… YUM! They have sandwiches, tenders, salads, oh my! Hand cut french fries as well — I am IN! And if you want, they have frozen custard for dessert.
I decided on tenders, mostly because I wanted to use (and abuse) the sauce bar. I am a freak for sauces. Why not try them all — they are free! Even if you take your food to go, they have little containers for you! Amazing! I ordered a 3-​piece tender, fries and a drink and it was totally reasonable pricing, especially for Phipps.
The chicken was piping hot when it came out, but more importantly, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Delicious. The fries were not as hot, but still good. I took full advantage of the sauce bar, but kept it to 3 sauces for my first visit (didn’t want to dull my taste buds with all of them). I opted for buffalo, ranch and honey dijon. All winners in my book and I will definitely return.
They do have some tables and chairs inside — just a few, but there are tables and chairs in the «food court» area as well. I’ll be sure and try the custard next time around.

Pretty darn good upscale fast food. The sauce bar is yummy and has about 10 dipping sauces. The cheese on the cheese fries is super good. think melted, good-​cheddar, not nacho liquid. The place is pretty small thought, a lil claustrophobia inducing, hopefully they will expand with success and add more tables and waiting room.

I told my friend I was craving Chick Fil A and he suggested we go to this place instead and, no, it’s not exactly the same, but really really excellent! I got the buffalo chicken sandwich minus the blue cheese. They give you so many fries as your side, it’s too much, but they are hand-​cut and fresh and there are all these tasty dipping sauces. Yum YUM.

I’d never thought to walk to Phipps Plaza for lunch, but I’d heard good things about Rock’s Chicken. Some of the girls in the office decided to make an outing out of it and we headed over for some lunch.
Located next door to Moe’s, this little shop touts it’s fresh, all natural, antibiotic free chicken, it’s hand cut fries and the homemade sauces. They all smelled way too good to pass up, so I ended up ordering a chicken sandwich combo. There were salads and tenders, as well but ok, really, a salad?
I ordered the Yuma chicken sandwich with their buttermilk fried chicken. They also had chicken tenders for very cheap, and I kind of wish I had ordered those instead since I wasn’t super hungry. But when eating fried chicken, it’s about going big or going home.
My chicken sandwich was hot and juicy, topped with melted cheese, bacon and spicy jalapeño. It was a truly awesome chicken sandwich. The handcut fries reminded me of Chickfila (not a bad thing) and the Dijon honey sauce was a perfect dip for my fries. And each serving of fries was huge.
A tasty fried chicken meal (you can also go for the grilled option, but… Why…). The theme of this review? Go big or go home.

Found this great spot on Unilocal while I was out shopping. So glad I was in the mood for chicken — because Rock’s knocked it out of the park! I was offered samples of their buttermilk fried chicken prior to ordering, and it reeled me in. Hot and fresh, crispy breading, moist tender chicken. The fresh cut fries and sauce bar were the best addition. Their buffalo sauce — amazing! I got a chocolate shake to cool off, made from their fresh frozen custard. Great flavors as well!
One great thing I loved was as I was about halfway through my meal, a manager came out and stopped by each table, checking on us and seeing how our food was. Not something that usually happens in smaller places, especially in a mall. Kudos!
Definitely give Rock’s a try if you’re out shopping in the under renovation Phipp’s Plaza!

This is a 5 star fast food place. The fried chicken is fantastic, but for an even healthier meal with the same taste, get a grilled chicken «Yuma» sandwich with coleslaw.
Highlights:
1) The Yuma sandwich has grilled onions, jalapeños, bacon, cheddar, and ranch dressing. It’s superb.
2) The chicken can be fried or grilled (as I chose). It is antibiotic free all natural chicken.
3) They had a sauces bar for lots of different sauces to dip your chicken tenders. This seemed to be the most popular item.
4) salads look delicious.

This is an excellent little Chicken joint located in side Phipps Plaza. It sit in between Moe’s and Subway.
I ordered Five Tenders with Fries. I asked for two fried tenders and two grilled tenders. Both styles were excellent! They gave me a TON of fries (enough for two), so you could conceivably split this side with a friend. Their sweet tea was good quality – you could taste tea and it wasn’t burnt or too bitter – but too sweet for me (I drink «semi-​sweet» tea, lol!). I cut the sugar with their unsweetened tea, which always does the trick.
They also make sandwiches and salads. As the core of these meals is the chicken I ate, I can say that the chicken within these meals will NOT disappoint! I will be coming back!

Honestly the best buttermilk fried chicken in Atl !!! Yes they make awesome chicken tenders from natural grown chicken and get a side of famous hand cut fries !!
Also had the grilled chicken sandwich was delicious !!
They have a menu that’s makes its so simple and can customize your condiments on the sandwich the way you love it !!!
And have the best custard with rotating flavors every month !!! October is delicious offering of «butter pecan custard straight from heaven !!

Pretty decent fast food. They have a variety of chicken sandwiches, chicken fingers and salads. I ordered the Yuma sandwich (grilled) with fries. the meat was cooked well and was juicy. I liked their «sauce bar» where they had about 10 different sauces and you can try as many as you please.
