Sal’s Pizzeria

4.5 actually, Great local pizza joint! We usually get take out the dining service is average, nothing bad just average! The Pizza is great dough crust, great sauce with a zesty fresh taste. They smell of the restaurant says it all. Big oven fresh pizza!

THE worst service. Basically expect to get asked, «no tip?» from the rude ass bitch behind the counter. Pizza is ok though for 2−3am cravings but the service pissed me off so badly.

Absolutely horrendous customer service. Stopped by here after Czar Ice Bar and was having a fantastic night until some lady (if she even deserves such a title) repeatedly asked for tips and while I gave her $ 1 for a $ 3 pizza, one slice wasn’t enough so I went back for another one. This time I gave $.25 and yes I know what you’re thinking… it’s not much but I already gave $ 1 the first time (30+% for a $ 3 pizza), this lady had the guts and audacity to tell me that «it was a joke and to forget about it» with the WORST attitude ever. May come back again, but lady… you better be ready for a confrontation next time.

Located upstairs near the ice bar. I was starving and my friends and I were in the east andrews area. I think they only offer certain toppings… Like my choices one time were cheese, cheese or cheese. then the next time it was mushroom or cheese. It’s not made to order nor do they have much variety. Its just you get whatever they have at the window. Either way, you’re probably not going to picky whilst being tipsy. Just something to help soak up the alcohol. Overall, I recommend this over the hot dogs soaked in mystery juice that’s located in the kart outside.

I just attended wine fest yesterday and Sal’s pizzeria was conveniently open for some noms. We had a substantial amount of wine to sample but no eats! Have no fear, Sal’s Pizzeria is here! The pizza is your typical pizza — greasy, floppy, with just enough crisp to the crust. It was $ 3 for a slice of cheese pizza (which is a bit steep IMO for the serving size you get) and it hit the hunger spot right on. Perfect cheese pairing with wine ;)

Walking out of Prohibition the combination of loud noise and drunken folks was messing with my vibe. Loud music in a setting with such poor acoustics (major echo) is not music, it is noise, and I thoroughly enjoy loud music.
Only food could offer the instant antidote to the poison I was being subject to. Alas; there was nothing offering the quick sustenance I needed without having to jump in a car, nothing but a slice upstairs. Walking up stairs from Prohibition I expected attitude, poor service and questionable food. I think my growing hunger and low expectations were the perfect pairing for an enjoyable experience.
The only pizza immediately available was Chicken Parmigiana (Pepperoni was about to come out of the oven). I ordered a slice of each expecting the Pepperoni to be the only edible one of the two. I ordered the Pepperoni for the PYT I was out with and C.P. for myself (I live dangerously). To my amazement, my slice was delicious. Fresh, tasty and HOT (it was not put back in the oven) the slice was thoroughly satisfying. The pepperoni was so good I had to consider a second slice for myself. As the night was going to be slowing down I opted against the extra slice and adhered to the old adage «Championships are never won of full stomachs».
I was beyond pleased with my experience and asked for a card (to facilitate my review) but none were available. Next, I was informed that Sal’s is only open for business from 11pm-​3am Friday and Saturday nights. They earn their keep by providing the drunken polo’s and shorts crowd that patronize East Andrews Café and Bar as well as Andrew’s Upstairs with low cost sustenance to maximize alcohol consumption. Whatever works, I’m all for it.
Should I make my way through Prohibition on another Friday or Saturday night I’ll definitely make my way upstairs for a slice to help me forgetaboutit; whatever it may be.
