Service Box & Tape

We’ve used Service Box & Tape for over a decade and wouldn’t go anywhere else for boxes. My wife often has to ship art work that requires specific box sizes and SB&T accommodates with reasonable prices and great, friendly service.

I use this company for seller shipping needs for EBay and Amazon and believe me, they have a box for _​everything_​. I sell vinyl records, board games, books, clothes and everything in between and they have specialty boxes for all.
Need bubble wrap, padded envelopes, or peanuts? You got to go to this place. Best prices ever! Bought boxes for books today for $ 0.35 each. What a deal!

We’ve been using SB&T for about 15 or so years now. They’re convenient, have a huge selection and the prices are WAY better than any of the Retail stores (like UPS Store, U-​haul, etc). Not only boxes but several styles of bubble-​wrap, tape, tape-​guns, packing «peanuts» and a whole lot more.
Though not a traditional «Retail» type store, they have always been very friendly, easy to work with and a big help in finding whatever you need for your project.

Moving is always an ordeal, especially if you’re a woman packing, carrying and inventorying by herself, and you chose the opposite side of the planet (well, well, the country) to move to. It’s hard from every standpoint because long moves require extremely detailed packing, careful research and… it’s all about the Benjamins, too.
Ryan went through the same process when moving from Atlanta to Seattle a year ago. That helped me a lot especially regarding saving some money. He recommended Service Box & Tape Co to buy boxes, tape and that MAGIC plastic wrap that keeps everything nice and tight.
They have a myriad of products at discount prices. Boxes are about 50% cheaper than the ones in Home Depot or Office Max. They also have a better selection in terms of sizes, but you have to be careful when you pick up some of them. Service Box & Tape Co is a box outlet store so you can get a box in a great, convenient size but, for example, constructed for displaying products. In this case, the box that appears extremely convenient for loading purposes can be a disaster when you pack it, requiring extra tape in order to keep it together.
Oh, and I love the fact that my move looks like a bunch of boxes ready to be put in a grocery store warehouse… my things are comfortably resting in boxes printed with brand logos such as Lay’s, Arm & Hammer, Kotex products et al.
The discount tape is kind of crappy, but it serves its purpose. The packing paper is strong and of great quality, and larger than the one Container Store carries. The magic plastic wrap is… magic. Don’t hesitate in buying it and almost wrapping yourself up… sexy-​y-​y! Yes, is that good!
Throughout the course of a month, I stopped by several times. The owner, a very sweet and helpful gentleman with a very distinctive Southern accent (I’m a sucker for it) always recommended the right things, gave me tips and kept up with my progress. His assistant wasn’t that nice but after a few visits, he became my silent friend.
Service Box & Tape Co is definitely a place to have in mind for moving. Just be sure you don’t fall for that awesome box marked at 85 cents that look so convenient… it might be a leftover of a doggie diaper company that has a hidden side-​flap you would need to tape later. Otherwise, they are awesome!
