Shane’s Rib Shack

My favorite item is the smoked wings. However, today that were not nearly as good as they were in the past. They barely had any «grill marks» as they normally would have. Also, the green beans had so much black pepper seasoning that they were almost unedible. Hopefully this is just an bad day for the cook. I will give them another shot in a few weeks to confirm.

A coworker suggested Shane’s for lunch. This was an absolute disappointment. And yes I ordered the chicken tenders… That were bland and slightly burned batter. The dipping sauces did not help. Fries were undercooked and soggy. This was my first experience. One Star!

Let’s be clear, this is not BBQ, its cooked meat with some sauce. Beyond that I had a half rack and the meat was not the least bit tender, very tough and hard to chew off the bone. I have eaten at Shane’s Rib Shack in the past, while I cannot recall having a lasting impression either positive or negative I can say this meal left an impression that I will not be eating here again.

Again… the worst food of any Shane’s I eat at but the best customer service. I don’t know what they’re doing wrong but the chicken always tastes like it’s been cooked…, then re-​cooked if that makes any sense. I gave this location a break for a while but decided to give it another try… Still awful. I have to drive all the way to Cumberland to get decent Shane’s.

If you’re already in the Edgewood shopping area and you want BBQ, you don’t have a lot of options so this place will suffice. If you’re at home and you want to drive to get some BBQ and you pick here, you’re insane. This is ATL, we’ve got some great BBQ spots and I’m kind of surprised Shane’s even does well in this market with the likes of Daddy D’z, Fox Bros, etc.
The food’s not bad so I’ll give it 3 stars, but there’s nothing special about any of it either. You’ll leave satisfied and likely mad at yourself when you realize the cornucopia of better options you could’ve taken but didn’t.

The food was great but the service is horrible. The server who brought my food took it away after a few mins saying that’s not your order. After telling her what I ordered, she brought back the wrong order again and argued with me telling me «this is what you ordered». Even with showing my receipt she still refused to bring me the correct order. I had to get up and find the person who took my order to confirm what I ordered. After a few mins I got the correct order and no apology. Not going back to this Shane’s

Just ate at Shane’s rib shack and had the grilled chicken salad. It was the best I’d ever had. Had a little spice to it great presentation. Customer service and atmosphere was great too. I’ll be back for sure.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I wish I could give it a lower score. I have eaten at this location several times. My past trips the food was average. This past week I ordered food to go. When I picked up my order I came home and discovered the order did not contain the chicken or ribs, just the sides. My wife called back and an employee said to come back for the food and I would also receive a refund. The employee said it was their responsibility to heck the food. When I arrived back at restaurant the manager said I could wait for them to recook my order or get a refund, but not both. I informed her an employee said we would get both she said she did not say this and she was the manager. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. So two trips to that shopping center at rush hour and no food. Thank GOD the Krog Market down the street from our house was able to give me the food I ordered. I will never eat at Shanes again. And no one else should either.

We live across the street and eat here quite a bit. I love the shack potato with pork. Sometimes the service is a little slow though.
For a chain it’s pretty good BBQ!

The staff is extremely friendly and this location is accommodating for small children. The four of us each ordered something different from the menu and we all enjoyed our dinner. I had the half-​rack of ribs. The BBQ sauce is sweet, but still good. The ribs themselves were tender and tasty. It is also nice they have a big sink in the dining area to wash your hands when you are done.

Fast BBQ, really great service. Here is a place where the staff generally seem to get a long and have a good attitude about them.
The sauces:
Original — watery and very sweet with a mild tang. Nothing distinct.
Spicy — watery, same as original with a hardly noticeable spiceyness.
Honey — watery, different, smokey, sweet. Most interesting
Mustard BBQ — medium thick, mild mustard, floral and sweet

Best Shanes I’ve ever been to!
We are welcomed in with open arms, which is hard to come by now a days, and the foods amazing!
We came to this location for the first time this past Saturday. (Apparently, KIDS EAT FREE!) The person who helped us was so nice! He was tall, dark and handsome! He even gave our son a cookie when we were leaving.
The place is super clean. Peach tea was on tap. And gotta love the bbq sauce selections!
Most def coming back! And maybe every Saturday to nab that kids eat free deal… lol

Despite this being a chain restaurant, their bbq is really good. I ordered the big daddy pulled pork sandwich for take out and let me tell ya… they aren’t stingy with the meet at all. They put a ton of meat on my sandwich and the meet was just falling out… this is a good thing for people like me because I like big servings. I ordered the mac and cheese as a side which was good but not great… sweet tea was on point as well though. I ordered my food as take out and it was ready pretty fast… I will definitely be visiting again.

We always get our order to-​go. The food here tends to be a bit hit or miss. When it’s hot and fresh, it’s pretty dang good. When it seems to have been sitting around for too long, it’s not great.
I have never had good fries here. In fact, they are so bad, that I no longer order the pulled pork sandwich combo (which comes with fries). I order the sandwich only, and pay extra to add on the sides that I like. The pulled pork sandwich is usually really good. I really really wish that they would toast (or grill) the bread, before making the sandwiches though. The bread tends to get really soft, boarding on mushy, from the moist meat, sauce and coleslaw.
The coleslaw is always crispy and usally tastes really fresh. The mac n cheese is pretty good. It sometimes tastes like it’s been sitting around too long, but I always add some fresh ground pepper & a little garlic powder, to give it better flavor.
Overall, this Shane’s is not bad. Oh, just a note… during the holidays (especially around Christmas), you may want to call before you go, to be sure they will be open their posted business hours. They sometimes close early for employee parties and whatnot.

Wow! I just left Shane’s for the first time and I immediately had to open my Unilocal app to write a review. If any place deserves a five star review it is Shane’s. This place BLEW ME AWAY from the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out. First, I was promptly greeted by a very courteous lady at the register. I informed her I might be a minute because I’d never eaten here before and not only was she was patient, but she told me her favorites, recommending sauces, sides and expanding about ingredients. Most places hurry you along to order and couldn’t care less if you are educated about the menu, Shane’s is NOT one of those places. I say down and waited about 3 minutes for my BBQ plate to come out. It was served to my table by a courteous employee with a smile on his face. The food was piping hot, plentiful and looked very appetizing. After tasting all the barbecue sauces they have, I decided on the honey barbecue and dug in. It was incredible! Now I was not expecting this quality of food or service from a chain restaurant but boy was I wrong. The BBQ is tender, thick and flavorful! Fries tasted fresh and onion rings were worth the extra buck! I love the atmosphere, it was very casual with a lot of seating and plenty of barbecue sauce right at your table. they even have a handwashing sink in the dining room in case things get too messy. Halfway through my meal an employee approached me and asked how everything was and if he could get me anything. I thought that was great. As I was leaving I casually asked the lady at the register about specials during the week and she said «would you like me to write them all down for you?»! She proceeded to get a pen and a piece of paper (all while in the middle of doing something else, I might add) and write down every special with every price for every day of the week, then reading it back to me explaining it all. I have not been this impressed with customer service and food in a very long time. Lots of places will have good customer service or good food but rarely both. Shane’s truly has it all.

The fam takes a few trips to Shane’s when we are in the shopping district. Is the food good? Well, yeah. The baked potato loaded with BBQ chicken is awesome but everything else is just… well, good. Is there better BBQ in Atlanta? YES, but if you don’t feel like driving to them Shane’s will be ok to settle with.

Tasty pulled pork. Awesome ribs! Fast!
Fresh tasty food. Great sauces. Meat was falling off the bone on the ribs. Coleslaw was good. Mac and cheese was just ok. The beans were awful. I’m a meatatarian so I’ll give them four stars for the meat.
This place was super clean. Usually the BBQ sauce bottles are tacky with sauce. These bottle were pristine. The table was super clean and the bathrooms were spotless.
I don’t get over to little five often but I will eat here next time I come.

I always loved the food that I had from this Shane’s location. The kitchen staff really knew how to prepare good bar-​b-​q. I cannot believe that this location has closed (apparently for remodeling), but the look of the store looked fine to me. Everytime I went into the restaurant it looked neat and clean and the staff was always pleasant. I think this is a ploy from Shane’s corporate staff to take over the restaurant. This is obviously corporate greed at it’s worst.
I feel sorry for the staff that was let go. I even saw a lady standing outside the restaurant begging people to accept applications. Why do this when you had a very efficient, capable and experienced staff already working there? SHAME on fat Shane for his corporate greed. I will NEVER eat at this location again after the «remodel» and will NEVER give this Shane’s another red cent.

Trending but think most BBQ had over the weekend. But when visiting city do what the natives do or too the point eat what the locals eat. Shane’s Rib Shack is chain restaurant in GA because remember first experience was in Rome, GA. Not sure if more outside the state of GA. I had found memories of the pulled pork sandwich so had too get it again. They just started new sandwich or without doubt the advertisement for it looked GOOD. So lI went for it!
I was called the Shaniac. They should call it the motherload of puller pork sandwiches. It starts with burger, then topped with mound of pulled pork, topped with another mount of cole slaw, and somewhere still found way too add cheese. Literally so much stuff amazed I was even able too get it down. Every bite some goodness came out. I loved the harmony and overall balance of every ingredient. Sure each one could each by itself. Me always sign of kick ass sandwich. The sides had mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was nothing special besides the sandwich so big not even think about eating much anything else. I had some of there house sweet tea. I really enjoyed and with southern food really nothing better wash meal down other then sweet tea. They have assortment of condiments on the table. I added more hot sauce. If could would take bring bottle back with me. I also tried some of the spicy sauce. That had nice kick too it! Either one could have loaded my sandwich with more BBQ goodness.
The service was great. The lady at the counter was great since it been while for me so took time deciding and helpful came for my friend. He needed to go container first got size too small went back up got the bigger size. Both times she never made issue and very friendly and helpful.
Shane’s is place that would come back again next time visit GA.

SHAME on «Shane’s Rib Shack. I had grilled chicken wings tossed in teriyaki sauce. I’m just going to say this «yuck». The chicken was dry inside. It tasted like I was eating wood. Really «C’mon man» how do you mess up something as simple as chicken wings? For this Shane’s you get the GAS FACE!!!
Shane’s I will say this, the cashiers were very pleasant and helpful… So with this being said the GAS FACE goes to the cooks! Cooks step y’all game up fellas.
