The Retrofit Source

Got some basic projectors with shrouds and bulbs from TRS, was so happy with them that I ordered a second pair. Much better alternative than the eBay or Amazon counterparts. Great packaging and presentation as well. This is the first time I am doing a retrofit using TRS, and I will definitely come back for future projects.
Their customer service is also excellent. Response to emails is very quick, and they actually have a phone number with people who pick up and are willing to help you.

These guys are great. They sell quality products and their customer service is just as good.
I had bought an incomplete kit, hoping to get some cheaper parts elsewhere. When cheaper said parts came, I realized that I paid for what I got. So after going back to Retrofit Source, they helped me to complete the kit.
Now, I’m coming back to buy another set for my other car.

The Retrofit Source is definitely the place to go purchase aftermarket lighting kits or components for your automobile! I was referred to TRS by a friend after he bought a pair of bulbs for his s2k. I was a little skeptical on the quality of the products because I’ve bought poor quality online before, but TRS stands by their passion for perfecting your night time driving experience. You can tell that their knowledge and customer support is put into each order placed on their sight. The fact that they package run their product through a quality control inspection and personally check off each product on the «packing slip» to make sure your customized kit is done right the first time shows that the team members at TRS give each and every order perfect customer service. Also, I love the fact that the package arrived to my house within a two day span and was carefully packaged to make sure none of these delicate products were damaged. Another great aspect of TRS is the fact that they have a plethora amount of reference guides for installation and learning tools on their website. The Retrofit Source is a one stop shop that doesn’t front. They have great product, customer service, and more importantly an easy website to navigate. I will definitely advocate for TRS and recommend them to anyone that is looking for the perfect night time driving experience!!!

So after reading all the so call great reviews online from their website and other forums, I decided to order from TRS. I ordered the H11b morimoto elite HID system and the morimoto XB LED.
The XB led was okay, their not consistent of where they attached the led bulbs on the base, but at least the high beam works so I kept the thing
The H11b bulbs were sent with bulbs that says H9 instead of H11b. I called TRS and Charlie said «it’s actually H11b with misprint of H9 on it.» Jamiele sent me an email assuring «that the H9 and H11 are 100% identical.» I’ve then decided to give it a try and the H9 did not fit in the housing perfectly because it won’t twist in all the way. Oh and there are no instructions on how to install these lights if you’re a newbie. So one side of the light kept turning off. When it stays on for a short period, I can see a shadow line on the lights on the ground. I called them and complained about the lights turning off and their reply was can I send them some pictures because I could be installing it wrong. At this time I was a little irritated because they try so hard to get me to keep trying. I got fed up and sent the kit back. (You pay for shipping) So after waiting a few days I called them again and Jack picked up the phone confirmed to me that one of the cables were not working properly so that’s why one of the bulb kept going out. (He was polite)
So TRS finally decided to refund partially of my money and took 20% restocking fee even though their stuff didn’t work properly the first time and I have to pay for shipping. Now my thinking is, Oh well, at least I got some money back and don’t have to deal with their sh1t again.

and they have free shipping, very helpful, comes with instructions (for newbies) and they have separate harness with a fuse on each side instead of a dual single sided one like TRS.

The place to go for aftermarket HID and projector parts. Plus their Morimoto XB LED bulbs are pretty sweet, too– and they come in some sizes/​colors that the major OEM names (Philips, OSRAM/​Sylvania, etc.) don’t seem to offer.
I wish I could grab their stuff more easily on Amazon, but honestly if you need to spend a decent amount of money on ballasts or something else, paying for shipping here isn’t too bad.
For retrofitters, you do have to have a through understand of what you need and what you’re buying– seriously, do your research for your specific vehicle as well as the retrofit parts you plan to use before you buy. Saves tons of headache or additional orders for bits you thought you didn’t need, but turns out you did need in the end!

The Retrofit offers flexibility, I have sent them a picture of the Orange (Yellow) HID i purchased from them and explained to them how I do not have anywhere to work on my car at the moment to remove the Bulb and «disable» the bulb by simply cutting it. and yet they make no effort to send me a replacement. if I had the Replacement Light bulb I could have had it replace. As opposed to removing the one that is on there now and leaving a hole for moisture to enter the housing. Let down. not to mention this is the 3^rd attempt at getting Truly yellow Bulbs. They always end up orange or even close to pink.
1 Star on their 3k Temperature HID kits. Not cheap but can be compared to cheap quality at this time.

I have changed my review from 1 star to 3 star. although I still have not receive 2 matching light bulbs. they do Send me bulbs every time I get around to sending them pictures. I was contacted by one of their representatives 6 months ago. I will reach out to him when I get a chance

One of my HID bulbs from another vendor on the ClubLexus forums I bought from 3 years ago have started to fail prematurely. When I asked them what my options to replace the bulbs were, they either said to buy the same brand of bulb or go for the Philips 6000K D4S, which costs more than 2x as much as the one I bought from them originally. There was no way I was going to buy the same brand bulb only to have it fail again in such a short amount of time, nor did I want to spend $ 200 on the Philips. I scoured the forums and stumbled upon TRS.
After some more research, I found the Morimoto XB XenGreen 5500K to be the best choice in terms of color output, lumens, and well under budget. When the bulbs arrived, which came quite quickly to my surprise, they were well packaged and included alcohol wipes. The presentation alone made the Morimoto bulbs seem like a higher quality product than what the ones I purchased for almost twice as much before. After installing one side of the bulbs, I turned on my headlights to do a quick comparison. The Moriomoto’s were definitely brighter and had that nice hint of blue, which was exactly what I was looking for.
Overall, I would highly recommend TRS to any of my friends. Quick shipping and great customer service!

Heard from all car buds that TRS was the only place to buy my lighting needs. Bought quite a few items including their amazing H 11 HID kit about 4 years ago couldn’t be happier with the product. The brightness and reliability of these HIDs are unmatched by any other competitor. Still going strong as the first day I bought it never had one issue. Customer service was so helpful and friendly when calling to ask about new products they released. Super fast shipping got my order in only 3 days if that’s not fast idk what is. Im a customer for life. If you need retrofit parts, killer leds, or maybe the brightest hids go to TRS.

Retrofitsource provides the right stuff. I wanted a product that was able to perform, be reliable, and have quality parts. My friend recommended to me Morimoto’s which RetrofitSource offered to consumers. Now, I am recommending this company’s business, their products, and services. I got Morimoto LED 9005’s and Morimoto xB 7440’s. They are bright, clean, and crisp. Not only are they bright when i installed them, the packaging and delivery time were outstanding. I am glad that I found this company and Im sure you will be too once you give them a try.

I purchase about a year ago 2 sets of the morimoto xb halos, I went with the retrofit source with this purchase because it was what everyone recommended online in the forums, a couple months ago I place a pre order for 2 sets of the new xsb halos the total was $ 130, I send a email to them because I wanted to know if I did something wrong with the installation because after a year my old halos started failing and I was not aware of the warranty on them, they replied telling me that they are going to refund me for my new purchase because of the warranty on the old halo! Man!!! I was amaze that even without asking they gave me the refund! I really love a company that backs their product! You will never get a perfected product but with a company and warranty like this, you as a customer are safe of any problems, I will go trough them with any of my retrofit needs! I have placed small orders to big order and all of them has been shipped the same day! Great company! And A+ customer service!

Really great support and even better products. Called them up for s retrofit on a mkiv jetta and a 2003 pontiac vibe they helped me out and got me everything I needed. Did my retrofit and worked well with my car gave it a brand new look. Thanks to everyone there for sure buying again from them in the future.

Have always been a big fan of TRS… all the way from back in the day when I retrofitted my own 7″ round HIDs to my new set of Morimoto Sealed7’s. Their service, pricing and innovation has always been top notch. Highly recommended!

1^st time use of this company.
TRS came highly recommended from a motorcycle forum group I participate in.
Ordering was fast and almost error free. A misunderstanding on my part caused a misorder… Make sure you understand right or left hand drive item choices are based on drivers position in the car… NOT the side of the road you drive on. This is my only complaint for the company. While Im sure it makes perfect sense, and perhaps works for most customers. using the seated position in the car to describe what side of the road you drive on is not intuitive to all.
The products showed up at my door fast,. packaged well, and appeared to be quality.
The online tech chat in an invaluable resource that really makes the company shine with support for the professional installer or the one time DIY person.

I purchased th Mini H1 6.0 projectors and XB LED halos for my retrofit and have been using their products for over a year. The projectors still lights up the road better than 80% of the cars out there and the halos are awesome too. The only downside to to XB halos is that some of the individual LEDs fail over time but TRS has great customer service and that’s why I trust them.

Ordered two d1s bulbs, one didn’t work. Company refuses to return, because «it is used». Note that i only plug them in to test them and found out one was defected, and contacted them same day i received this product. I agreed for replacement, after submitting my warrantee request it was denied. Denied due to «Photo needs to show that the bulb is completely disabled», when bulb doesn’t show any physical issues.
Another words, product sucks and customer service been pulling me around for whole 2 weeks now! Company doesn’t stay behind their products! I would suggest to look at other sources prior purchasing here.

I purchased a retrofitted headlight off a private party seller who did not provide me with any directions on HIDs, or installation. I arrived at the TRS site to purchase the necessary HIDs and checked out immediately. Not only did their website made it easy to find what I need, but it was easy to compare different products to find the perfect brightness and bulbs that I needed for my project.
Shipping was quick, except my order got hit by the Polar Vortex on the East coast so it was a bit delayed. Not TRS’s fault, though!
Once I got my HID kit, I was confused as to where to start. Just a quick search on their website and 15 minutes of my time, I managed to learn how to set up and properly install the HID kit in to my headlights and onto my car. It was that easy! Now I know why everyone recommends TRS, especially for their intuitive website!

Just got a Mini H1 retrofit kit from these guys and had a local shop installed them. Their product is definitely one of the better aftermarket products out there as far as lighting. If you’re savy enough their DIY guides on their site can save you a few hundreds in installation fees. I got their LED rings as well and that’s a MUST have to complete the look of higher class cars. They are BRIGHT!
These guys are pretty quick with communications as well, they are popular so that means they can get super busy as well but they will get back to you eventually.

I rarely post reviews so here goes.
I ordered some XB35 5k bulbs to replace my crap ddmtuning hid bulbs. They were advertised as 5k but anyone with a brain would see that they are all 6k bulbs.
anyways Zach really helped me out with my order, and went above and beyond call of duty to ensure me that I placed my order right. This is the type of customer service that follows up with your inquiries. Although slow, he always got back to me even for a small amount of $ that I was buying. Great website and easy checkout.
