The Sun Dial is def a unique experience. The restaurant rotates around the building of a pace of about 1 rotation and hour. It makes for a very unique experience while dining and gives you a full 360 view of the downtown area. Staff was great and very accommodating. Pricing — be prepared to spend a decent amount of money. 4 of us with one appetizer and 2 glasses of wine came out to about $ 250. The food was very good. Proportions seemed about right. You don’t feel like you will get full when you see the plate but by the time you eat slowly and socialize you def get full. They do charge $ 1 for water which is why I docked them a point. Seriously it is water. Come on Sun Dial. They Westin Tea is amazing and not bad for $ 4.50 with free refills. Overall if you are wanting a unique experience and ok with the prices give them a shot. Otherwise skip the meal and just check out the view from the lookout towers.

I’ve learned in Atlanta there’s a ferris wheel that you can pay $ 13 to ride to see some pretty cool views of the skyline… or you can take that $ 13 and buy a drink or two while revolving around the Atlanta skyline 74 floors up at the Sun Dial Restaurant. In about 30 minutes you can make a complete rotation around the skyline and even swing by some of the complimentary stationary binoculars that give you such a close view of the Atlanta Hartsfield Airport that you can read the tail numbers on the aircraft. A couple of things to note: The restaurant takes reservations and usually has a wait. You can put your name in on the lower floor. The bar is open seating. Special elevators offer express service to the top. There was a jazz band playing while we were there on a Thursday night. Awesome blue cheese dip and homemade chips.

A very unique location with a 360 degree view each hour. Sit and enjoy your guests while spinning around high above the ground. There’s plenty of time to sit and relax and have great conversation with your guests while the staff figures out how to best serve you. Few staffers on the floor to take care of so many customers. The restaurant spun more than half way before we were provided libations. Everything is expensive here so remember they revolve your world. The food was relatively good. But you’re paying for the view.

I also had drinks on the floor above the dining room. It’s pretty cool I can choose where to sit; the bar has two options. I could’ve sat by the bar or sat in a small table. The floor where the small tables are rotating so I felt my seat slowly moving and experienced the beautiful a 360 view. It’s a cheaper option to enjoy the view than having dinner here. In any case, it’s worthwhile to check out this place.

The Sundial is located at the top of the famed Westin Hotel in Downtown Atlanta. Free parking with restaurant validation in the valet area. I don’t think you can actually go up without a reservation… not sure how the bar area works. I saw people just browsing on the observation floor. Eeeish. Yes, it’s an awesome«restaurant» what with it’s one of a kind rotating-ness and its 360 views of Atlanta and beyond, but if you’re here talking about the food — you might as well pay an entry fee(if one existed) and skip the food altogether. I wouldn’t expect much with the lackluster service and sub-par food. Service was meh — waiter hardly came to check on us and I don’t even remember if our water was filled. Maybe because we didn’t buy any drinks? Bread was not warm and didn’t seem all that fresh. I’ve had better bread from the grocery store. However, this was probably the best part of the meal. Fellow Unilocaler Daniel B. and I shared a micro salad, which, was literally a micro salad. For $ 16, we got what looked like a knocked over mini plant with two tiny little radishes and a miniature carrot on top of «edible dirt» which was basically some nuts thrown in a grinder. Also got some crackers and a few dips. Not worth $ 16 and it was hardly even a snack! I ordered the duck breast and it was mediocre. Edible and acceptable, but not nearly worth the high $ 42 price(you really just pay extra for the landmark). The risotto was actually the best part as it was well seasoned and overly black-peppered with tender mushrooms(cremini?). The duck had too much fat and was not hot enough. No crisp to it at all either. The cherry sauce was a nice sauce for the dish as a whole. I also had a bite of the fish of the day, a grouper — the moment I sank my fork into the fish filet, I knew that it was overcooked. It was tough, overcooked, tasted frozen, and was way too salty. Not a fan at all. The food here reminded me of cruise food, maybe worse. The 2 stars is for the amazing views that you can’t get anywhere else(360 degrees!) but really, the food here deserves 1 star. Not worth the trip unless you really want to see the views, which are breathtaking. Skip the food.

View is great atmosphere is great but the food is less than mediocre. We only ate at the bar level from the«casual menu» — that’s how they call it. We ordered wings, a cheese plate and a pizza. Wings were like in a sleazy sports bar, far away from being anything special or just tasty. Cheese plate was ridicules, the menu says«chef’s choice» when it’s literally the most boring cheese plate you can have, that’s what the chef chose? It was Brie with some icky sauce on it, white cheddar and plain blue cheese. Snore. The bread and jam that came with it was also boring. And finally, the pizza… Second worst pizza I ever ate and that includes frozen ones. The place got two stars and not one because it’s still worth the view(go for a drink and don’t eat there) and service was ok I guess… If you go just stick to the wine, I’m glad I didn’t try any cocktails. They can’t ruin the wine.

It’s a [tourist] trap! Don’t fall for it! The food is Applebee’s quality with Morton’s prices. I hate to give Sun Dial a bad review considering the staff was so friendly. The only thing I liked was the glass of Malbec I ordered and the fact that I can check«dine in a revolving restaurant» off my bucket list. Not one food item was good. I started with the peach gazpacho because it seemed like a creative Georgia-themed twist on a summer classic. While I didn’t expect it to taste like a traditional gazpacho, I didn’t expect something nauseatingly sweet. It tasted like a giant bowl of raspberry sauce that restaurants use to drizzle over chocolate torte. Now don’t get me wrong, I love me some raspberry sauce, but not when it masquerades as a $ 13 bowl of gazpacho. The garnish had some garlic but there wasn’t a trace of it in the actual purée, This is problematic considering garlic is one of the main ingredients in gazpacho. I ate 3 spoonfuls and couldn’t force myself to finish it. The busboy took it away after asking if I was finished but without asking how I liked it. Now I know that it isn’t the waitstaff’s fault when food isn’t good; however they are crucial to communicating customer feedback to the kitchen. For dinner I had the vegetable risotto with Parmesan. I didn’t eat that either. The arborio rice wasn’t bad, it was just bland. I don’t know what broth was used, but there was definitely no white wine added or any other ingredient that would give it a pop of flavor that would make the dish worth remembering. Now on to the vegetables. There was about 1⁄8 cup of peas, a sprinkle of cooked corn kernels, and two cherry tomatoes. I’m not being hyperbolic– literally two tomatoes. Look, if I were dining at a chain restaurant, I wouldn’t have been upset with this dish, but my bland risotto with a sprinkle of vegetables was $ 34. That’s the most expensive bowl of wasted rice I’ve ever paid for. As with my appetizer, no one asked whether I liked my dish or why it went uneaten. I can’t comment on my husband’s sirloin strip steak because I don’t eat meat, but he reported that it was«nothing to write home about.» I ate his sides: cooked carrots and a purple cauliflower purée. Like my dish, these sides were– you guessed it– bland. We skipped dessert, paid the bill(over $ 130), and I left so hungry that I went straight back to the room where I ordered Indian food for delivery(that I’m currently enjoying while I write this review). If you are dying for the revolving restaurant experience, go for an early happy hour, share a bottle of the Malbec with your friends, take in the view, then head elsewhere for dinner.

It pains me to give the Sun Dial a 3-star rating. I’ve been pulling for this place since the extensive remodel and new management. It’s such a unique experience in Atlanta, and to see it wasted on poor restaurant management is sad. We dined here for Mother’s Day brunch(with reservations). While we were seated immediately, it took nearly 20min for someone just to take our drink order and another 20min to get them. In total, we dined for 3hrs… far too long, even for Mother’s Day. What was especially confusing was that the restaurant was ½ full. The reservations were hard to come by, and the hostess downstairs had indicated to a party ahead of us(Who didn’t have reservations) that there was a 2hr wait! A 2hr wait for what?! Nobody was dining! The food is was just ok. I disagree with others that the food is expensive. The average price of an entrée is about $ 16-$ 17, and for a nice restaurant rotating 72 floors above Atlanta, I think that’s more than reasonable. But the quality of the food is definitely not what you’d expect. Portions are small and quality is average at best. Unfortunately, getting a complete remodel and new management is about as much of a «do-over» as you can get in this business. And if that wasn’t enough to change my perception of this place, I’m not sure what else you can do. We likely won’t be back.

Had out of town guests & this was on their list of must-see, quintessential ATL spots. Despite being a Monday night, this place was busy! As to be expected for the one-ok-a-kind, 360 degree views :) After valeting & taking an escalator up one level, we stepped into an elevator & were supersonically whisked 70+ floors up to go to the Sun Dial bar. Since we’d already had dinner, we were there for a nightcap & to take in the view. Again, surprisingly busy for a Mon. evening. Mostly groups — lots of young adults. We settled into a table for 4& a waitress came over to take our order. We had our drinks & tried to not succumb to a case of vertigo with the spinning + the cocktails! That was a feat in & of itself! Our server was kind enough, but excruciatingly slooooowww!!! We hardly ever saw the server once we got our drinks. And it took so long to request our check. Very romantic place, perfect for before or after dinner drinks. On the pricey side: $ 14 for 1 drink + tax + tip… Also good celebratory spot — bdays, anniversaries, etc. Valet parking. Super cramped elevator!

The elevator ride alone is worth the trip! I don’t care for heights but the ride up was a thrill ride in itself. Once up there, the windows are fairly clean enough to take decent pictures. Keep in mind though that this is a restaurant, and a fairly uppity one. So act appropriately :) Anyways I think admission was like $ 8 or so to go up. Spent about 20 minutes taking the views in. Plenty of pictures.

The view from up here on the 78th floor is worth it! It takes an hour to rotate around 360 degrees and you can dine and watch the scenery go by. Its a GREAT place to take visitors to Atlanta, especially first time visitors as you can point out the sights, and its great fun. For those on a budget come for lunch! The Sundial Burger or the Chicken Cordon Blue sandwich are good and just $ 15. When you consider the view that comes with it, its a GREATDEAL! You could spend that elsewhere with NO view. The free water they pour has lots of air bubbles in it, makes it look like champagne! Parking is expensive so consider MARTA unless your a big group. You can reserve lunch or dinner also at . I wish the patrons would keep their hands off the windows! Come on people! If you have kids control them! Everyone can enjoy their views better if your fingerprints werent on the windows. Head on over as the view is great day, sunset, or night!

I’m glad this place is still popular but it’s not impossible to grab a cozy club chair upstairs and have lots of room to sprawl out while enjoying the epic view of Atlanta whist you sip and nom. I actually used to bartend here several years ago(and I was tempted to make myself a mudslide, but I behaved!) My Captain was stoked to visit for his first time and we got there just in time to enjoy the daylight and lovely sunset. Pizza was on point and one of the male workers was nice enough to validate our parking even though we didn’t quite spend the newly required $ 75 in order to receive it. Thanks for the great service!

I can’t speak ill of this place, as I only attended for the view, champagne, and crème brûlée. That’s all a girl needs. The crab cake was large, and I enjoyed the crème brûlée finely. I didn’t make a reservation, so I had to sit in the inner circle, my view was farther from the glass than I would have liked. Still, a wonderful setting to end a romantic night at. I’d recommend making a reservation if you want to be further away from the bar and have a private dining table. Otherwise, the rotating lounge style chairs and coffee table are spacious still. Cheers!

DESSERTSECTIONREVIEWONLY: Eehhh. Someone told me this place has really good desserts so maybe I was expecting too much but they only had 3 dessert options, chocolate cake, cheesecake, and something else. They had 3 smoothie flavors(berry, banana split and something else) but I’m thinking more cakes and such. They didn’t even have coffee or cappuccino but that’s probably b/c they want you to buy alcoholic drinks. We got the chocolate cake($ 10). It was just alright but how do you mess up a super sugary chocolate cake. The scoop of vanilla ice cream turned out to be cream. Sad. They have some finger foods and burgers as well. Go to the 5th floor of the Westin Hotel. There’s a separate elevator that’ll take you up to the top. Tell them you want desserts and you can go up. At the front entrance of Sun Dial, tell them the same and you’ll be sent upstairs to seat yourself. The service was decent but not professional. There’s an $ 8/PERSON MINIMUM so be ready to buy something. You get a cool view but you can do that without buying anything. There’s a section at the entrance where you can do that and you won’t have to buy anything. If you eat the food and drink then I guess it could be fun but for desserts, just do that and go elsewhere for dessert.

We were here on a sunny afternoon expericing the atlanta downtown from 770ft above ground on revolving restaurant with good food what can one ask for. We had Lamb Chili(deleicious soup), Lobster grilled cheese(the taste was good but the bread became soggy pretty quick), Southern Fried Chicken Breast(the chicken was juicy/soft just melted in mouth) and Hazel nut Caramel Crunch(apperance was good but not my favourite). Even though our orders came pretty fast i guess this is the first place we spent 2.5 hrs for lunch enjoying the view from the skyscraper.

Husband and I took my parents here last week. A late birthday dinner for me, I had been wanting to dine in this location for the view and the turning floor I had heard so much about. We had the filet mignon and the New York strip. Both were amazing, after wine beer and desert our bill was over $ 400 with tip but defiantly worth that«special occasion» dining experience. Our waitress was phenomenal, very funny and full of spirit. The rotating room was very cool, it takes roughly an hour for the entire room to circle back to the original place. The escalator ride up was also nice and since our bill was over $ 75 they also cleared the valet parking that would have been $ 30.

The combination of the view and live music makes it a worthwhile visit. The food is not extraordinary and it is a little bit over-priced but this is not unexpected for such a location. Try to be there during the sunset if you can.

The view here is amazing! The elevator ride to the restaurant was a bit freighting(only because o am terrified of heights). The elevator had glass windows, allowing you to experience the view as you ascend to the top floor. The dining area rotates, so you are able to enjoy the view of the city from every angle of the building. I came here for lunch and ordered a soup and a lobster Mac n cheese. Both dishes were rich and creamy. On addition to that, I ordered dessert and it was delightful. I was definitely full. Our waiter was extremely informative and welcoming. I would definitely come back at night for dinner.

Service: The staff appears to be unhappy with their jobs, and the service reflects it. A little personality can go a long way– the servers lack that! Wait times versus reward did not add up. Food: We ordered a Caesar salad with chicken. Unfortunately, our waitress did not inform us of the ridiculous charge to add tough unseasoned grilled chicken! The salad itself was bitter. It tasted like they exclusively selected the bottom portion of the lettuce leaf. We only finished the salad because we were famished from waiting to get upstairs. Drinks: The redeeming quality of this place are the drinks. Peach everything never tasted so goooood! +1 star Venue: The building is absolutely beautiful. An architectural work of art! If you visit for any reason, visit for the drinks and view. Conclusion: I would not return. The rotating bar leaves much to be desired. Service is slightly below average. Food is OK if you don’t like seasoning. Save your hard earned money, enjoy the view, but show up with a full belly.

The wait was a bit long but the food was great and parking was kinda hard to find. I was a little nervous when I first got up top, but that’s expected with me and heights. We were given the chance of looking around while the waiters set the table, and let me tell you, it is gorgeous looking out over the city, especially if you come for dinner and watch the sun set. A few minutes later our table was ready. Of course I speed walked to get a seat facing the window. Next, here is out waiter, and what a polite and helpful waiter he is. I forget the name of the drink but it’s a sweet tea mixed with some vanilla extract, and it is probably the best tea I’ve ever had in my life! Then, we order our food. I think I got Salmon(I’m writing this review a year later since we ate). The fish was delicious! The actual rotation of the restaurant is fairly slower than I expected. The waiter said it takes about an hour for a full rotation. I was expecting to get a little sick, but I felt fine during our meal. Finally, the deserts. I don’t remember if I ordered any, but they did look delicious and well presented. All in all, I had an enjoyable time eating at the Sun Dial. It was expensive, but we did have about seven people in our party. I highly recommend eating there for dinner because you will be astounded by the view.

My wife and I had tickets to the Chicago Bulls and Atlanta game this weekend and figured we make a weekend trip out of it. We saw Sun Dial and thought it was a cool concept and similar to the John Hancock building in Chicago minus the rotation. Ok… Now to the actual restaurant. Our waiter was awesome super nice, timely, and knew the menu. The food came quick. We ordered the prime rib for 2 @ 160 that came with 2 small sides. The steak was cooked to perfection and it was a great portion. The sides on the other hand was bland but given the tastefulness of the steak it helped if you ate them in a combined bite lol. Overall the place was nice and clean. Is recommend for a special occasion as the food is pricey and for the price point I’d go to other places as far as food options and taste. But for the experience it was worth it.

My friends and I were downtown for a conference. Two of us are both Unilocalers and wanted to check out a new(for us) and tasty spot. I had always wanted to try the Sun Dial so I suggested it and they were both on board. We went for lunch during the week so it wasn’t busy, but I made a reservation anyway. For those that don’t know, the Sun Dial is a revolving restaurant, providing a 360 degree view of Atlanta. During our lunch, we were able to go all the way around and then some — it is a true experience(note: you can walk a level down and learn about the different landmarks in the view). I ordered the lamb burger with a side of salad and topped off the lunch with a crème brûlée. Food was excellent and service was great. I look forward to eating there again.

I loved eating at The Sundial. It is an out of this world experience. It is perfect for an anniversary dinner or an awesome date night. The servers are professional and polite. The food is to die for! The view is breathtaking and they even have little telescopes so you can see the true beauty of Atlanta up close. There are also snippets of information on easily accessible touch screens so you can find out more about the historic landmarks in that area like the CNN building, Coca Cola and 191 Peachtree. The lamb was perfectly prepared and the wine list is pretty impressive. Anyone who wants to get the best of Atlanta should definitely have a meal at the Sundial.

The wrong way to carbo load for a half marathon is to find yourself at The Sun Dial Restaurant lounge, eating half a veggie pizza. The packet pick up for the Jeff Galloway 13.1 was nearby so we decided to feast here — bad decision(terrible heartburn but I guess it was worth it because the food at the lounge is quite delicious). We’ve been here about 5 times and unfortunately, the service has taken a turn for the worse. Regardless of the time that we show up, we’ve always had crappy service. Slow and rude service. I asked for more salsa and the server gave me a look like really? «Did you mean chips?» Me: «No, I needed more salsa because we have too many chips». She looked at me like I was an alien and walked off. We got the salsa about 10 minutes later. It was too late because then we had 2 chips left(I have NO self control when food is in front of me). I «drank» most of the salsa because I hate wasting food(I’m an immigrant and it is ingrained in me to never waste). This is a great place to bring tourists and we actually always enjoy the food. The pizza is some of the best I’ve had in the city and the ambiance is so romantic. I love the rotating view, and the drinks do not disappoint. It’s very pricey, but you pay for the view. We’ve had the veggie pizza, buffalo chicken wings(actually spicy) and chips and salsa. The chips are house fried and the salsa was very fresh. Unfortunately with the dismal service, I’m not sure we’ll be back.

Great view of downtown Atlanta from 73rd floor. Definitely 5stars for the view. I had Blackened Trout w/cajun sauce, very tasty and flavorful a bit spicy(I was surprised with grits full of crawfish and bacon, very generous portion) I tasted my friend’s order, –shrimp and grits, it tastes kind of dissappointing– cheap bbq sauce –seafood pasta, something that i won’t pay for $ 20 –crab chowder soup as appetizer for $ 18 and small portion is definitely overpriced anddd last but not least, GOORDER the dessert. it’s amazing. And overall, great service! Shauna helped us with the order, she’s very friendly :) ps: free 2hrs valet parking.

What a view! What an exciting elevator ride. If your scared of heights then definitely don’t look out when your going up or down those 72 set of floors. I actually loved it. We had made reservations so we got seated right away. Love the revolving floor so you can get a 360 view of the whole city. It takes an hour for you to get all the way around. Apart from the beautiful view the food was delicious. I got the Fried Chicken that sat on a bed of cheesy heaven(Mac n cheese). We also got the shrimp n grits. The shrimp was a pretty small order and the grits kind of threw us off. It was more like a grit patty. Reminded me more of polenta than grits. But was pretty tasty. We got a Caesar salad and corn Madeleine’s as appetizer and they were both very delicious. Food was flavorful and delicious. View was beautiful. Staff was great. I’ll definitely be back when I take a trip back to Atlanta.

I came here on Thanksgiving with my parents, who were visiting from out of town. Made reservations and they took a $ 25 deposit per person(I’ll get to that later). We were seated quickly. Had an opportunity to walk around and visit some of the viewing areas to check out the great view. It’s a great place to take out of towners because there are plenty of recognizable buildings to show them. The view is what gave this review the extra star… Because it’d be three stars for the service and the food. Honestly, there are plenty of(close) places that you could go to that would serve more inspired or better tasting food. Nothing stood out to me. The appetizer that I got(deviled eggs, see the picture) was whimsical, but not really enjoyable. Maybe I just wanted a traditional egg to bite into instead of spoonfuls. I won’t deduct anything for that, just not my thing. Ordered the turkey dinner. It was filling: stuffing(which I realized, I don’t actually enjoy. It’s just… Stuffing?), green beans were nice, cranberry drizzle was nicer than a slice of the canned stuff would have looked, the turkey was good(not dry), and the mashed potatoes were nice and creamy. It was decent. But I missed my mom’s cooking. I guess there’s just a touch of «homemade» that you end up missing when you spend a traditional family holiday in a restaurant. The dessert was a crème brûlée. It was good. Could have done without the«orange scented» biscotti. Or whatever it was. Oh, and that money that they took as a deposit was deducted from the bill. It was nice that it was done, or I honestly might have forgotten about it. If you’re looking to impress a date or some out of town friends or family, this is a good«do it once» type of thing.

In town for business so we had a rather large party but they handled it well. I love love love the ambiance, the service and of course the view. HOWEVER the food was very mediocre. I rode up 70 something odd number of floors for this! :(Like I’ve prepared better flavored items at home. I had the pork chop and kale and corn pudding. Ate all my kale for sure, left plenty of pudding*bill cosby voice* on the plate. The chops were bland. Dessert was good. Our server was an older black lady with a head full of curls and mouth full of humor. She knew those menus and history like the back of her hand and really made up for the disappointment my stomach felt.

I decided to try this place due to some recommendations and word of mouth. It was not the best, the food was expensive, and not desirable at all. It reminded me of most hotel restaurants, bland and not something to write home about. What this restaurant lacks in food, it does make up for in atmosphere, you get to see the entire Atlanta skyline, and at night it is beautiful. The entire room spins to show the entire skyline, but not fast enough that you even notice or it is bothersome. If you want a nice place to get some drinks and experience a little gem of Atlanta, this is the place. If you want great food from a top class restaurant, I would recommend somewhere else.

Came here to celebrate a friends birthday. Note, notify them 48 hours before hand if you want them to do something festive to help celebrate. The ride up and down is not that bad, thought I was going to splatter when I was going down, but that is just the way it feels. I wish they designated one elevator for going up and the other for going down, because it is difficulty getting inside when you are getting hit with a flood of people coming off. We made a reservation, suggest you do too, and were seated within 10 minutes of arriving. While the food, atmosphere, and service was exceptional, the food felt like it took forever to get the table. I would also like to not some of my food items, the latter being the main reason I gave this place a four. 1 — ordered the duck shepherds pie and while I liked the unique presentation separating the duck from the pie, the biscuit that accompanied it was very dry. 2 — the chocolate moose I had was found to contain a hair. Thankfully I caught it and the server was receptive enough to replace it and apologize, I do not know if I ate any hair, because I literally found it in the middle of the plate, in the middle of my food. Despite what is generally a grotesque incident, I still enjoyed coming here and would recommend it to anyone looking for some great atmosphere and food. So the run down: 1. Get over your fear of heights 2. Make a reservation 3. Be patient 4. Double check your food to ensure quality 5. Make sure you bring your wallet

Our organization booked the 73rd floor at the Sun Dial restaurant which is located in the Westin Hotel for our group dinner in Atlanta. It was a stunning view of Atlanta. It usually has a revolving floor, giving you a 360° view of the city. While you dine. Unfortunately our group was too big and they had to put the big tables making the revolving part impossible. It was still a good view(we just had to walk around), until the fog rolled in. Lol. The service, specially for a big group was extremely good. Request and refills were always promptly done. Here’s the rundown: Caesar Salad w/Parmesan panna cotta and crostini. The Parmesan panna cotta was the star of this dish, delicious. The salad was just okay. Pan– Seared New York Strip & Scottish Salmon w/Candied Garlic Jus, Potatoes Mousseline and Haricot Vert Fresh Herb. The steak was a bit over cooked for me it was medium approaching well done. What a waste of a good meat. I do understand why(big group and it was probably sitting in a warming box for a while). The salmon was moist, however it was lacking in the flavor area. The Mousseline was excellent. Chef Khoi’s Trio of Delight(Fruit Tart, Cheesecake & Chocolate Ganache). The fruit tart was the best of the three. Cheesecake was just so so. The chocolate ganache was way, way too sweet. Overall, our dinner was okay, specially for a big group. I would be curious to try their regular menu items. Another time perhaps. 2015 Review #134

I came here on a weeknight for drinks. The drinks and appetizer were good, but expensive of course. I had a strawberry champagne sort of thing, and shared a cheese plate with a friend. The cheese plate was very yummy. And the view is pretty awesome. But the service is another story. We tried to go up and was told it would be a 30 minute wait. So we put our names on the list and hung around. When we went back 30 minutes later, no one was at the desk. So we just went up. And there were so many empty seats! Then getting a hold of someone to serve us was really difficult. We were told to sit down and someone would come, and no one did, so we went to the bar. The kitchen had closed but a nice waiter made sure to get us a cheese plate because he remembered us asking for a waiter. I’d say this is a great landmark place to go and get drinks if you’re willing to pay for it. I would never come here for a full meal, though. And parking downtown is always a pain. Just be sure to make a reservation!

Having been to Hong Kong, London, New York, I could say I have seen some of the most amazing city skylines in the world. But the skyline of Atlanta, GA, wad a totally different vibe of the other major cities. This view is known for all the greens surrounding the city. Sun Dial definitely has the most amazing view of Atlanta. Located on the 72nd floor, just the elevator ride from the ground to the restaurant was mind blowing. One floor above the restaurant is a walkway of the whole circle of view. There are telescopes and interactive monitors for customers to use. We had a reservation at 7:30. Even though all reservations were full, the restaurant still had plenty of room when we got there. The view was absolutely amazing, we were in the best spot for sunset at 8pm. Food was alright. I had a bone marrow mashed potato for appetizer and a steak. Quite pricy. Also had a martini which was very good. After dinner, we went to the bar 2 floors above, the bar rotates too. A must go in Atlanta, GA!!!
