Ultimate Escape Game Atlanta

I played amnesia, and it was one of the coolest escape room experiences I have had so far. The clues were really amazing, and so much thought was put into the room. The décor really immersed you and it was honestly just such an amazing experience. My only con would be that a ticket is around 30 bucks, so it’s around 120 to play with a decent group of friends (a disney world ticket is 100). Besides that, the game is amazing, staff is amazing, and I will definitely be back.

Ultimate Escape Game Atlanta is located in an office building, and there is plenty of FREE parking! This is always a plus in my book!

This was my third room escape game experience, and I had been looking forward to it because I had really enjoyed my second escape room experience at Paranoia Quest. Plus, this was part of one of my favorite friends/​escape room addicts’ surprise birthday celebration, and she was SO excited when she found out we took her to a room escape company she had never been to before. =)
Per Ultimate Escape Game’s website, the goal with the Atlanta room is to «Unlock a safe containing the secret Cola formula by solving puzzles and riddles centered around Atlanta’s attractions and landmarks, while learning a little more about the Peach State’s rich history in this new escape room.» Our game master didn’t really provide any more information than the brief description on the website. We were allowed three clues in case we got stuck or needed help, and we had a walkie-​talkie to communicate with our game master.
I won’t give away any spoilers, but I do have to state that my group of 8 that took on the Atlanta room honestly had a really tough time with it. We didn’t think the clues really flowed, and there were a lot of unnecessary fluff and false clues thrown in there.
It wasn’t until later that we found out the Atlanta room was one of the more difficult rooms at Ultimate Escape Game, and there were a few first-​time room escapers in our group. If we had known this beforehand, I think our group would have chosen a less-​challenging room. Ultimately, our group did not successfully escape within an hour, but we were allowed to finish solving the puzzles to find the secret Cola formula.
Overall, Ultimate Escape Game Atlanta gets 3.5 stars for a good and challenging room escape game experience with the Atlanta room. Kudos to the amazing staff for allowing our group to use the waiting room afterwards for birthday cupcakes and other snacks and drinks! I may consider going back to try another room if I find a good deal because I think the regular price (almost $ 30 per person) is a bit steep for an hour of puzzle-​solving.

The staff was so fun! I went with a group of colleagues and we had a blast! Our group had 8 people which I think was a few too many as it created confusion.
Te instructions were clear and the rooms were challenging!

The place was cool, great staff and getting in and start was easy! The room My group had was pretty tough and we almost made it out in time! This was second time doing an Escape the Room game so it was fun. Have to keep an open mind and pay attention! Only reason I gave them 4 stars is because the location we went to only had a few rooms, maybe two or three. Other than that, I would recommend this location!

Played the Amnesia room with two additional couples. We were the only group to actually break out of the room for the day (or so our game master, Bree, say). The game is apparently the hardest room of the bunch that is offered and it felt great that we were able to break out of it. Me and my friends definitely agree this is one of the best and probably most favorite room we have ever played. We will definitely be back to play the other rooms that Ultimate Escape offer.
Staffs were friendly! Before you start the game, you have to sign a waiver form and watch a short video on how to unlock locks. I would recommend them to anyone who loves to play escape rooms or are looking to try it out.

Ultimate Escape Game Atlanta is like many other room escape games in metro Atlanta — it’s a lot of fun. If you’ve never played a room escape game before, here’s how it works: You and a group of friends pay money to be locked in a room full of clues. Working against a timer, you must unravel the clues to escape the room. If you escape before the timer hits zero, you win. If not, you lose. These games are fun because they put you in dramatic, movie-​like situations where you and your team must work against the clock to save the day. The rooms typically have a story or theme.
At the time of writing this review, I’ve played 15 different rooms at 8 different businesses in the Atlanta area. They are:

Room Escape Atlanta (Tucker)
Mystery Room (Duluth)
Paranoia Quest (Downtown)
Mission: Escape — Atlanta (Loring Heights)
Amazing Escape Room (Sandy Springs)

I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the above escape rooms except for Mystery Room which, in hindsight, I no longer recommend due to the overall quality of the experience there compared to other places. The other places are fairly equal in terms of production quality with Paranoia Quest perhaps winning in that category.
Room Escape Atlanta, host of the popular «Trapped in a Room with a Zombie,» uses cheap, low-​quality props. However, they make up for it by having a real-​life actor in your room at all times. Depending on the actor, this can positively or negatively impact your experience.
Ultimate Escape Game does not utilize any actors. The stories are very simple, bordering on non-​existent. Then again, I’ve only played one room here so far: Hackers. Currently, there are 5 rooms at Ultimate Escape Game. Here’s a list of them along with the business’s recommended maximum number of players per room:
1. The Vault — 7 players
2. Hackers — 7 players
3. Atlanta — 12 players
4. Amnesia — 7 players
5. Enigma — 12 players
The regular ticket price is $ 29.68 per person ($ 28 + $ 1.68 Cobb County sales tax) which is roughly the standard going rate for escape games in Atlanta. I haven’t seen any deals online for Ultimate Escape Game Atlanta, but I haven’t looked either. Some of the other places like Room Escape Atlanta, Mystery Room, Paranoia Quest, Amazing Escape Room Sandy Springs, and Breakout Atlanta have offered terrific deals online through Groupon, LivingSocial, and Goldstar. These discounted prices work out to be as little as $ 10 – 15 per person. Definitely jump on those deals if you see them.
Note: If your group doesn’t book all the spots in a room completely, there’s a chance you’ll be teamed up with another group and you’ll have to tackle the same room together.
It would be nice if the rooms had difficulty ratings so newbies and veterans are better informed before booking a room.
For our visit to Ultimate Escape Game Atlanta, we had a group of 16 people and split up. Half of us took on the Hackers room and the other half the Atlanta room. We had one more player than recommended for Hackers (8 players vs. the recommended 7), but I thought it turned out okay. Details in the mild spoilers section below.

Please don’t read this section if you don’t want *anything* spoiled for you.
An employee said it would be okay if we squeezed an 8^th player in for Hackers. When we first entered the room, it felt too small for even 6 – 7 people. Eventually, we unlocked additional rooms which gave us more space to work with. Unlocking additional rooms is common in escape games. There were a total of three rooms to solve in Hackers. I thought the puzzle-​solving design was unbalanced — the most unbalanced multi-​room escape room I’ve played up to this point. We spent about 30 minutes solving the first tiny room and then only 15 minutes solving the next two bigger rooms. Despite the room being called Hackers, there really wasn’t a lot of «hacking» to be done. There were a couple of computers we had to use and a GameCube console with a working game that turned out to be a red herring. There were no «Do Not Touch» stickers on the controllers. I was convinced since we were in a cyber-​themed escape room and we had to use computers in the first and third rooms that the GameCube game, located in the second room, must’ve had a clue in it. It didn’t take me long to find a six-​digit numerical code by exploring the game’s pause menu. I was disappointed the game was merely a decorative distraction. In that case, I think «Do Not Touch» stickers placed on the controllers would’ve been appropriate.

Finally, I’ve noticed Ultimate Escape Game Atlanta has the nicest, most spacious waiting room and well-​lit photo backdrop of any escape room business I’ve been to yet. The photo backdrop even has professional studio-​style lighting. Other places should take note.
TL;DR — I enjoyed it and would come back.

Looking for a new team building activity? Apparently escape rooms are the «in» thing right now. Several in Atlanta. This one happens to be close to our offices. Brain power definitely required — esp. fun for those who love solving puzzles.
Our group reserved two rooms, Enigma and Amnesia. I was in Amnesia — looking at Lindy F’s review, it appears we got the hardest room — we were first-​timers too! We didn’t make it out but we were close!
You have 1hr to figure out all the clues in your room that will help unlock one of many various kinds of locks/​combinations — that reveal even more clues. It was so much fun — and now I better understand the escape room addiction some of my Unilocal friends have :) It does cost $ 28/​person … which made me think, wow someone is doing very well.
Recommendations? Just a couple. Go to the restroom before starting the game. And wear light clothing — you can imagine the stress level when you have several bodies in the same small room trying to solve puzzles with the clock ticking down.
FYI they are a little hard to locate. Signage is poor esp. at night. When you turn into the office complex, take a sharp right — go to office space #150.

Hello, it’s me again. Your resident escape room junkie. So much so, that my friends planned a surprise escape room for my birthday. That’s love (and addiction) for you!
This was our first visit to UEGA and we were not disappointed. There were 16 of us, so we had to split into 2 rooms (Hackers and Atlanta). The start times were supposed to be 10 and 10:15, but since we were having cupcakes and mini-​celebration for me after, they delayed the 10pm start for Hackers to 10:15 so we would all finish around the same time — super nice of them! I guess this was doable since there was no one else coming in after us?
Hackers is their beginners room — having learned this after the fact, my group should have gone into the Atlanta room. The Atlanta room is their «level 4″ room. Note: I have since emailed and asked for a listing of the rooms and the level of difficulty as we want to return and do something more challenging. To me, this should be A) on their website when you are booking and B) explained when you call to book and/​or when you show up. Especially if this is your first time trying to do an escape room, you really don’t want to be doing a level 4 or 5 room.
The response I received this morning:
Hacker– beginner room
Vault– 2^nd level
Enigma– 3^rd level
Atlanta-​4^th level
Amnesia– hardest room and not for non novice players 7% escape rate
So I think they mean Amnesia is not for novice players as novice means inexperienced. But you get the idea.
The Game Masters, trying to be helpful, allowed 8 people into Hackers and this is really too many. I could argue that the max should be 6 (not 7) as the starting room is tiny! And I’m not just saying that because I am claustrophobic. There isn’t really enough to work in any of this escape room for 8 people, much less 7…6 is plenty. My regular team (Team Bad Math) went into Hackers with a couple of additional people.
***SPOILERS*** Do not read this if you want to do this room.
So Hackers is described as „Stop a notorious hacker organization, neutralize a computer virus attacking vital intelligence systems across the globe and save the world from a cyber war.“ From that description (on their website), it sounded really cool and made the rest of my team really want to do this room. But that was about it — nothing in this room really had that „hackers“ or „computer virus“ feel. Yes, there were a couple of computers involved, but otherwise nothing else really felt like we needed to save the world.
Again, the first room was tiny (there was a small box where we could store our belongings, nice) and there was a whiteboard provided to write clues down. We were given a walkie-​talkie and 3 clues we could call in for help if we got stuck. We did use 2. There were a few detractors, which is not a surprise, but there seemed to be more than in most rooms. We did have technical difficulties in the first room and had to call for technical support when the computer had a freak out on us — but the Game Master did stop the clock and come in and fix it.
My biggest complaint had to be that items were used in multiple places. This is unlike any other escape room we have done before. This is one of the clues we had to use and call about. That can be pretty frustrating with you are accustomed to a standard of a „use it and set it aside“ mentality.

After our escape (we escaped with 14:06 left on the clock), we were asked to sign the walls/​floors with our names, etc. Our Game Master gave us paint pens and we went and signed the floor outside the Hackers room (look for Daniel B.‘s photo) and then went back to the prep room fish bowl to wait for the other half of our group who were doing the Atlanta Room. When we walked in, they had set up the cupcakes my friends had brought for my birthday and had also put out a bucket with ice and sodas/​waters, and a bowl of fresh cut fruit. There was also a couple of tiny disco balls spinning and a nice sign that read „Happy Birthday.“
They took pictures of us with all the props they have in the room (I’m sure others have posted them» and once everyone else joined, we did a group photo. Unfortunately, the Atlanta group did not escape, but we still had loads of fun.
We definitely plan on returning for another room — a more challenging one — and now know their rules and game play is different than most.

I will say that I had a very good time and will return after the learning curve of the initial visit, for this fun and unique experience. My only critique is that the groups were too big — 12? and the rooms were pretty darn difficult! I think our host said the easiest was only a 35% success rate. We did the Atlanta room.

What a great time these rooms are
1) first rule … What happens in the room stays in the room. Things can get a little «aggressive» when dealing with a group of people in a tight space.
Out of all the rooms I have been to this is the cleanest, largest, most organized. Kelley was our host and she was a big help and made things fun !
I can’t really say much about the rooms without giving away clues so I will say that we did 2 rooms
A) The vault
B) Hackers
I think hackers was harder than the vault but both were fun.
Keep in mind you can not use any outside source like cell phones
This is a great way to bond with friends, co workers or family.
There is a maximum of 7 people but we had 6 and it gets a little hot in the rooms. We were stripping off clothes cause we got hot

First timer here, did Enigma. Went with a birthday party and I definatley coming back. The hosts were friendly and helped out when we needed them without interfering. We all were teachers and I was worried there would be too many bosses in the mix, but the room had MANY different clues we worked. All 6 of us had a task at all times without stepping on any toes. We worked together and individually and it was a blast. Will Def be back for more rooms!

Nothing bonds existing friendships like being trapped in a room for an hour and trying to decode very difficult clues in order to escape to freedom so you can use the bathroom!
Okay it’s not that bad, there is a panic button and they do encourage you to use the restroom before entering the room, but you kinda get where I’m going with this.

This is a great team building event if you have a work function, or small party and you want something unique and fun to do with your friends.
We did the Atlanta room which has a max capacity of 12. My main suggestion is to pay attention to the room capacity because that will indicate the difficulty level of the room. We attempted the Atlanta room with 4 fairly smart individuals and we failed miserably. After an hour we still have 6 more clues to detect before we could have escaped.
Even though we lost poorly we can’t wait to go back. The game is a fun and exciting brain challenge that really tests your out of the box thinking. They also have a room where zombies bang on the wall. Yeah.. . wear depends for that one. We saw some people leaving with their jackets tied around their waist. Tell tale sign someone peed their pants.
I bet they’ll be back though. It’s too much fun to only do once.

Lots of fun. Went for the Vault and had only 11m left. Group of 7. Definitely will do again. Not usually into this kind of stuff but we went in with a group we knew. The staff is friendly and appear to enjoy what they do.

We’ve done 4 out of the 5 available rooms with a 75% success rate (yeah we’re huge nerds) so I think that it might be time to write a review…
This is so much fun to do on a date or with a huge group of friends. It’s located in a very quiet office park in Vinings, near the AMC and Main Event (in case you need something else to do after). Without giving too much away, I love the intricacies of the clues and the «Duh» moments that come after figuring something out.
Unfortunately the size limit for the Atlanta room is way too high — you really don’t need 12 people to work on the puzzle especially since there’s usually only 1 way to get through the room via the clues. The price tag ($ 28) per hour is also kind of steep but I can appreciate the manpower that goes into each room.
I love everything else about this place and look forward to trying our last room, Amnesia, soon!

First time going this evening. Tucked away in an office complex right off of I-​75, you don’t feel like you’re going to play an escape game at all. Once we got in and got going, it was a lot of fun. Didn’t realize how much would have to be done to get out of the room. We did Enigma and I think we could have finished it if we’d been given about 20 more minutes. We were slow at the start. You get three hints through a walkie-​talkie if you get stuck. We should have asked for our first one sooner.
The only reason it gets a 4 instead of a 5 is because we lost, and I’m bitter, so there. Really fun place for group building activities or just a fun time with friends.

Okay, that was a LOT of fun. Just as amazing as I hoped it would be. And totally the right kind of playground for my geeky brain. All seven of us had an absolute blast, and look forward to tackling another challenge.
The Ultimate Escape facility is nested in an office complex, converted into something of a tactile & cerebral playground with all sorts of cool decorating and strategic placement of clues, brainteasers, and mysterious circumstances which you must untangle and escape. If you like the «find the hidden object» games, you’re going to have fun. If you like mysteries and puzzle solving, this game is for you. Add a real-​life, first-​person setup that requires team cooperation, a storyline that facilitates an actual ESCAPE, and I’m one happy camper. These folks put some very cool finishing touches on the riddles and puzzles they put in front of us.
We did the Hacker room. You and six of your friends get sixty minutes to save the world. (We did it in fifty.) You also get three hints. (Make sure you use them.) And staff is watching you through CC television. There were some fun surprises throughout the Hacker room challenge. But I’m not going to give away any secrets!
Make your reservations online. (Do they take reservations via phone?) Signing in on-​site is very easy. Staff will help with that if necessary. Just be sure to show up maybe 15 minutes early in case some larger groups are also doing the sign-​in thing.
With the exception of the Amnesia room (which cuts off at age 15, I think), I might even suggest this is family-​friendly fun. Kids are fantastic problem solvers!

What an AMAZING experience!
I’ve never done anything like this before and am so glad I’ve done it! I can’t wait to go back and try the other rooms. It was nerve-​wracking and adrenaline-​pumped. The countdown clock gave you a since of urgency and every time a clue was found, we had a major sense of accomplishment.
I did the Hacker room — which is one of the beginner rooms — with with six other people. Any more people and I think it would be too crowded. We finished with only six minutes left and every moment of that fifty-​four minutes was awesome and went by extremely fast.
If you’re looking for a different activity to try — DO THIS! It’s definitely not a cheap hour, but I think it’s well worth it.

Best time ever! I will have to come and try the other rooms for sure! I picked this venue for my boyfriends birthday, and it did not disappoint! It was challenging, intense and thought provoking. I must come back! The staff was wonderful, they even worked with out group to set up a little birthday room, where they provided cup cakes, snacks and drinks. Amazing night!

It was our first time diving into this escape-​type game, but I have to hand it to them. It was definitely worth every penny and plenty of fun for the whole group! Just keep in mind that you’ll be tested on your critical thinking style, not your actual intelligence.
We picked ‘Amnesia’ as our escape game and it was pretty fair for the most part. You will be tested a bit. Then it got confusing and spun out of control into a nonsensical affair. We made it pretty close to the end, but when the room master explained what we missed out on, we totally understood why no one has ever escaped from this scenario. Granted, this room has only been available since two weeks prior. It’s their «hardest» room so far and requires a lot of tweaking so I understand. Hopefully they’ll get to the point where its fair and makes a bit more sense.
They do have other rooms, some are made for bigger groups, each one with a different storyline/​background. I love all the ideas and touches that go into these rooms and will definitely be back for more. Be sure to visit with a fun group of friends.

This was an absolutely amazing experience! Loved every second of it.
We have one in Nashville, and we’ve been there. So when we went to Atlanta, we decided to give it a try.
Went through a Vault room. I absolutely recommend this fun activity for everyone! So much fun!!! I will be back to go through other rooms.
