Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Atlanta

UUCA is a great church for believers, seekers, agnostics and atheists to come together to share a common religious experience. I plan to attend more frequently to learn how I can contribute for social justice and serve my fellow man.

I attended UUCA recently and found the congregation very friendly and the service meaningful. I have been a member at another UU congregation in a different city, but I would always feel welcome even if I had never had any UU affiliation. The congregation doesn’t ask you to be a certain way or believe a certain thing.

i love the unitarians !!! why? because you can believe anything you want and still be a unitarian ! you can even be an atheist !!! how awesome is that ?? A church for people with brains !!! how NOVEL !!! LOVE IT !!! the last time i went there, i stayed for after-​hours coffee time — there was a guy selling eggs from his farm — how cool is that? eggs for sale at church !!! to recap, you can be an athiest, have a brain, go to the unitarian church and buy eggs — how cool is that ??

I grew up going to this church. If you are a Unitarian then your options are pretty much UUCG (Gwinnett) or this place. I’m not going to review Unitarianism because that’s sort of tacky, but compared to your other Unitarian-​izing options UUCA is slightly more expensive in terms of membership options and the frequency with which donations are requested, it’s harder to deal with traffic mostly because of a nearby Catholic church, and it’s crowded enough that they have two services per Sunday.

I grew up in this faith, but attended UUCG — in Gwinnett, went thourgh Middle and High School in the Sunday School, but this was a far cry from any baptist Sunday School. We learned about differant cultures and religions and about the world in general. It was a great experience and taught me alot about myself and interacting with others. In addition we had a great time at the UU summer camp the Mountain and always would have fun lock-​ins and field trips. I highly recommend attending service here and have been going to UUCA now that I live intown.
I like learning about differant religions and deciding what I belive is right, and the atmosphere here is very condusive to this. Whatever your beliefs you will be welcomed!

I’m so not into any form of organized religion or faith, but my uncle took me here since he’s a regular here with his family. The sermon was long but I enjoyed the music. Their facility is really nice, and the room we were sitting in was really cool, in terms of design, décor and architecture. They have really fun kids programs during the sermon, which is probably what I should have joined in on with my little cousins. I like that they raise money after every sermon and it goes to a different cause every week from what I understood. It was nice to see an all-​inclusive and diverse congregation; I probably so every major ethnicity represented including couples, kids, individuals, gays, lesbians… Everyone!

UUCA stands out among the UU churches in Atlanta because it has an extremely vibrant (and awesome) group of twenty– and thirty-​somethings. We’re more than just old hippies! Join with us to become the people the world needs.
Edited because I added this to my wedding list: UUCA has an AMAZING event space which you can rent even if you are not a member if it’s available. The sanctuary is round and the seating is amphitheater-​style. There are skylights in the center of the ceiling. In the hallways around the outside of the sanctuary is an art gallery with rotating exhibitions of local artists and art groups — when we had our wedding there, it was a fabulous show by the Atlanta Photographers Guild. The social hall is more than large enough for a wedding reception — we had both a dinner and dancing with a live band, and there is a large patio outside as well as gardens for photos and a playground for the kiddos. The church allows beer and wine to be served on the premises. It’s seriously a steal as event spaces go. Far less than ¼ the price of most event spaces in Atlanta.
