Village Podiatry Centers Perimeter

I took my mom there. They were really nice to her. I’m not really sure what they did, but my mom is much happier now. That is rare so it’s worth the review.

This is a great office with fantastic staff. Always friendly. My doctor, Dr Camasta, is very good and makes you feel comfortable. He is professional but personable. The medical assistant Tanaya, is very busy but is very nice and helpful. I love I can email her with questions and she is pretty prompt in getting back to you. I’m in the middle of having some serious foot problems corrected that included surgery. Dr Camasta made sure I knew what was going on and came to make sure I was ok before going in to surgery.

Meh. Mount Vernon’s office (front desk) wasn’t helpful at all so I’ll cancel my appt. No idea about the doctors.

I am here at the Marietta office right now. The office is completely empty and I had to travel over 50 miles to get here… I called ahead to let them know may be 15 min late and she informed me I had a 15 minute limit and would have to reschedule if I didn’t make it. Did I mention that the office is EMPTY?!

I have some toe fungus I’m getting rid of, and I wasn’t happy with my first appointment. They apparently needed to take a sample of the nail on the first appointment and send it into pathology for analysis before beginning treatment at the second appointment. That would have been good to know over the phone before coming in, but not too big a deal.
Then they (twice) tried to tell me I missed an appointment. I have not. Beginning to feel more sketchy.
I’m currently sitting here for my first treatment day. I’m the first appointment of the day, and they forgot to unlock the doors. Not exactly a well-​oiled machine. The doctor I specifically signed up for isn’t here, and I’m getting a tech instead. He can’t start before some other doctor arrives in the office at 8:15, so everyone’s stalling. I signed up for 8am so I could be back at work by 9…
It’s currently 8:30, and the tech is asking me all the past medical history questions that I answered last time. Now he’s telling me I need to buy a special medicine for $ 30 that only podiatrists sell, not pharmacies (sounds real sketchy).
Now it’s 8:40, the tech still hasn’t started treatment (which should take 7 – 10 minutes, he says) because the podiatrist isn’t here yet.
8:42 — Tech started trimming and buffing the nail, don’t think doc is here yet. Lasted 1 minute.
8:50 — I’m asking people why no doctor is here, no one knows. That’s poor form — there should be a reason, let alone a good one.
8:54 — Someone else is in the room telling me the reason the doctor is late is because he doesn’t see the laser treatment schedules, just the schedule for his own patients, and he didn’t have a patient until 8:30. I informed them that A) that’s a bad system, and B) that makes him about half an hour late for his own patient. The lady just smiled and said he’d be in soon.
9:01 — I’m seriously considering counting this a sunk cost and just leaving.
9:05 — He’s arrived. I’d like to have some words with him, but that’s highly unlikely to happen. Tech just gave me glasses to wear, said he’ll do all 5 toes. I don’t have time for that, so I suggested just the one toe that I need.
9:06 — HOLY CRAP THIS BURNS!
9:13 — Done. Tech suggests I not schedule for 8am again. I agree. I asked for a reduced price on the sketchy medicine I have to buy, since I had to wait so long. Let’s see what they say.
9:20 — At first they said no, but tech ultimately said «yes» to the medicine for free. (Turns out it’s called «ClearNails Pro»)
And I’m done. Feeling like this is a 1.5 star experience, plus a little for getting the medicine for free. Two stars total. I’d suggest you go to another place if you can.

You know the phrase «I should have known better?» That’s how i feel about Village Podiatry. I was a patient here a number of years ago because of various issues, including plantar’s facitis. I never felt more nickled and dimed. They wanted to see me every two weeks and whenever they did, I would always get charged my $ 35 copay. Fast forward to 2013 when I went to a different VP location for plantar’s faciatis in my other foot and sure enough — I’m getting meds, a shot, orthotics, follow ups (which I’ve learned to cancel because I really dont need). I think the docs are instructed to try and make as much money for the company as they possibly can. Not the best way to practice medicine.
