I took my wife here last night for her birthday weekend. It was close to perfect for what we like in a restaurant. It was very laid back with no pretension. The server was great and the food was amazing. We ordered several small plates rather than entrees. The lamb meatballs and seared scallop were amazingly good. Highly recommended.

It was great. We hit it around 10:30 after going to a show and the place was still actively open. We had a nice bottle of wine(Coppola, Director’s Cut), some cool appetizers(chorizo corndogs with spicy catsup!) and a pretty nice ribeye(absolutely no salt). Our server was great(she’s Jamaican) and the atmosphere was mellow.

Went Wednesday night for the wine tasting then the dinner. The wine tasting was good and Christopher, the Sommelier, was very playful with the crowd that enued to sample the various reds. Even though there was a crowd for the tasting, the dining room was amazingly empty for a Wednesday. After an hour of tastes we were seated at the Chefs table. We sampled the mussels(very good), the tuna tartar and the calamari which was quite good. As for entrees, we had the Halibit, the Duck and the Beef Short ribs. The beef short ribs were some of the best i have had in my life. The Halibit was good, and presented well. The duck was good, but I had expected more. In short, the mussels and Beef short ribs make for a great meal! I will be back.

This restaurants has some of the characteristics of an establishment that’s trying to find itself — a playfulness coupled with iffy execution. The service was nice but uninformed — specials were misunderstood, foods pronounced incorrectly, etc. — and for a restaurant whose name conjures«wine,» there was some surprising confusion surrounding what was actually available by the bottle. The concepting of the food was solid, but sodium levels were sky-high and the chef’s technique lacked finesse. Good for the neighborhood, but if you’re traveling for a meal, you might want to wait to see if they can find their groove.

After hearing Vine had changed Chef’s we gave it a go and were blown away by the food and charmed by the attentive but young service. The polished prensentation and tremendous flavors were a complete surprise at this price point. I loved the wine by the glass selections. I almost felt guilty popping the cork on so many of their bottles for a single glass. Go Go Go. Give another try if you haven’ been in the last few months.

This is definitely a cool spot to hit in the spring or fall. They have a great deck which is fun to just sit back on and enjoy a nice wine from a great selection. The menu is very diverse, with something for everyone from the steak lover, to the vegetarian, to the seafood fanatic. While pricey, you definitely get what you pay for. I have been several times, and the pork chop is one of the best I have ever had. Cooked exactly as to order, rather than the typical overcooking you get at most places. The seafood is excellent here too. There is a chef special, that is not available at all times, but definitely a treat. It’s Vine’s rendition of the modern hamburger — you get a sampling of tuna tartar between too perfectly cooked large scallops with a small side of julian potatoes. Simply great. Deserts here are very good as well, between the chocolate mousse, the crème brûlée, and the shortcake, you’re definitely going to enjoy the final course. This is an excellent date spot, and they will set the table to your requirements if you call ahead. They really try to please the customer here and are very knowledgeable about their wine selection. I would definitely recommend if you’re in the highlands area, and don’t mind spending a few bucks on a great dinner. Pros: Private parking, great deck, excellent selection of food, cooked to order, great wine list, varying specials depending on the night of the week. Cons: That i can’t afford to eat here every night.

Sometimes i wonder about wine bars that try to do food as well, but this place succeeds. The continental menu leans toward California and Mediterranean flavors/preparations with lots of seafood and grilled chops. The pretty dishes compliment the wine selections nicely. This is a great date place, with a little less hustle bustle of some in town hot-spots. The service isn’t perfect, but where is it really?
