Woodhams Eye Clinic

Well, that was disappointing. These guys care very much about their image. They don’t however, care about their patients. You walk in and they give you this amazing story about their customer service, and how you can, for a year go back and if there are any issues, they’ll fix them. The truth is, I had the procedure done, but my vision didn’t get to where they thought it should be. I have no issue with that. They had told me, before the procedure, that if that happened, they’d redo the procedure with no cost to me, and fix it. When I went back and asked them to do that, the doctor told me that I’d just have to wait. They kept me waiting for 12 months and then told me my «warranty» period was up, and that I’d have to pay for the entire surgery again. I tried to talk to Dr. Woodham, but they told me that he was unavailable and that he’d tell me the same thing. I am now with glasses again, less than 4 years after the procedure. Very upset that I went through all of that for nothing.

I had LASIK performed on 4.8.15! I had astigmatism in both eyes. I had not gone to several places to check around… however, the reviews on the facility, doctors and staff were stellar. Plus the reviews were recent. Who wants to go to a 5 star facility with the latest review being from 2008?!? …precisely! From the consultation to the post op, the staff has been AMAZING and super friendly… they are extremely accommodating and treat you more like a friend or a family member and less like a patient. Literally with the intralase I could see and drive the next day. My vision is still settling but I am enjoying reading without my glasses. I enjoy seeing things from far away without squinting or spending 20 minutes trying to figure it out with my glasses on. I know I am annoying my friends and family because I am reading everything for them. Remember, ²⁰⁄₂₀ and xray vision are two different things lol… seriously, I would recommend this facility and procedure to anyone. This place was a godsend.

Their staff and doctor are pretty nice, but my eye still ²⁵⁄₂₀ and my vision still blurry, see thing like halo light ! the doctor responsed that maybe will disappear or stay the same

I, too, was impressed initially when I had my first appointment. However, I have been trying for THREE DAYS to order cotacts! No matter who answers the phone I just keep getting transferred to voice mails and nobody returns their calls.
I will not have my surgery performed there now as I am afraid if a problem should arise there would be no one to help me.
Poor poor customer service.

This place is absolutely stellar. From the second I called for the LASIK consultation, all the way to every follow up, these people have been absolutely wonderful. The fact they remember my name every time I walk in is really great. They really know how to make you feel special!
Firstly, they’re so friendly and personable, it makes the whole atmosphere completely comfortable. If I had any doubts or concerns, these people would address them above and beyond — but by this point, I was already ready to change my life with better vision, I had already answered any questions via the internet. I elected this location based on reviews and I am so happy I did.
The consultation was free and it was fun. After it was decided I was a candidate, I met with the counselor where we discussed the cost and scheduled a date. It was so easy.
Day of the surgery, they were very fun and still just as personable. The results of the surgery were amaing and I already had ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision the next day — with the expectation if it to improve even more! The follows up are quick and efficient. As I write this, I am waiting for my 1 week follow up. I showed up late, naturally, but they’re super accommodating.
I whole heartedly recommend this place to everyone to get their LASIK, the procedure is quick, productive and recovery was literally next day!

I was extremely nervous about having LASIK but the staff and Dr. Woodhams put me completely at ease. I went from having contact prescriptions of −5.0÷−4.25 to having ²⁰⁄₁₆ vision overnight after my Jan 15^th 2013 surgery.
I was a bit tired and uncomfortable after the procedure but I slept for 3 to 4 hours and was diligent about putting my drops in. I’ve had very little discomfort sense.
I had a slight bit of halo effect from headlights and taillights while driving in for my follow-​up appointment at 8 AM the next morning. It’s now five days after surgery and I just realized I drove home in the dark last night and didn’t notice any halo whatsoever.
Yes, Woodhams is more expensive than others in town… But they offer bladeless LASIK which not only equates to faster healing times but lowers the risk of tearing the corneal flap post-​op. (Uh, and also no blades slicing your eyeballs open. Bllleeerrrrgggg!) They also came highly recommended from a handful of my coworkers that went there for their vision correction surgeries.
I was there for about 2 to 3 hours the day of my surgery but the actual procedure only took about ten minutes. Dr. Woodhams met with me right before the procedure, which is an extremely nice touch & put me even more at ease. Two thumbs up for the Valium. By procedure time, I was like «extra lasers, please!» The post-​op mini ski goggles are a sexy bonus.
I’m so glad I opted to go with Woodhams for my surgery… These are my peepers! I use them almost every day! ;) All in all it seems like a very small price to pay to obtain perfect vision and know that my eyes were in the most capable hands in Atlanta. My only regret is the same one everyone else has… Why did I wait so long to do this???

I’ve gone here for my regular eye exams for several years, and I’ve been fairly pleased. The tech does most of the exam, and he’s pretty knowledgeable. I feel like I’ve had a different doctor almost every time, but the one I had today was pretty personable. The office was pretty busy and I had a bit of a wait for the exam by the tech and then waiting for the OD, but I was in and out in less than an hour. I remember the eye doctor I went to before Woodhams that was all about pushing expensive eyeware. None of that going on here. Oh, one big peeve which I told the receptionist on the phone: When I called to make my appointment, the hold «music» was a pitch from Belinda Skelton pushing laser eye surgery. Belinda’s voice grates, and I am tempted to knock this review down to three stars because of that, but since I was pleased enough with today’s appt., I’ll leave it at 4 stars.

I was considering two different doctors for my LASIK procedure. I am very thankful for making the decision to use Dr Woodhams. The staff was professional and thorough. I was very nervous the day of surgery. I appreciated the Valium and constant communication during the procedure. I had absolutely no pain after the procedure. They made sure to send me home with both a pain and sleeping pill. I have heard others complain of pain post surgery with other doctors. I went to work the next day but it was difficult to see up close. By day 2, the results were amazing. I am so happy with my choice to have LASIK by Dr Woodhams. I highly recommend his office.

I’m 5 days post Lasek surgery from Dr. Woodhams Eye Clinic and couldn’t be happier with my choice to have the procedure done. As happy as I am with the procedure I’m also as happy with my decision to choose Dr. Woodhams clinic. The entire staff is warming, educated, professional at all times, and completely focused on service the entire time you’re there. If you’re considering the surgery, go to the best! My wife had her surgery done there also and we’re both seeing like new. Thanks Woodhams!

Fifth Visit — Day After Surgery Exam:
This one was quick and easy. surgery had only been sixteen hours before. My vision was blurred and hazy, as I expected. they said everything looked fine and even with the haze I managed to see ²⁰⁄₂₀ distance in one eye and ²⁰⁄₃₀ in the other. Again, i wouldn’t call it «quality» vision, but I’m happy with how it is going. I’m writing this 47 hours after surgery and my vision continues to improve, although reading at the computer has actually been tougher today than it was yesterday. Keep putting those drops in!!!
Sixth Visit — One Week After
Well, I’m one of the people who doesn’t have an instant recovery. I’ve had double vision «ghosting» for the last week. I can read great up close, but anything past that, including a computer screen, was very difficult. And far sight, ugh… All doubled up and impossible to see. I took my eye drops religiously. When I went in I was told that I needed non-​preservative drops, instead of what i was given. Apparently my eyes are very sensitive and my cornea was VERY dry, so it is like I’ve been trying to see through cracked glass. One day later and my vision does appear to be better, although it still has a way to go. My next visit is in three weeks. Logically i understand the issue and I’m OK with my progress. It just happens. Emotionally, I’m still a little nervous and afraid that I may be the .001%… I’m still sticking with my five star rating though due to the way I’m been treated and the fact that it has only been a week.
Seventh Visit — 30 days
Vision is much improved, although ghosting is still an issue. According to the eye chart I’m at 20/​20, but the further out it is the harder it is to see clearly due to the ghosting. Again, it is MUCH better than it was!!! I would still definitely recommend LASIK and Woodhams at this point. Major improvement has also occurred within the last seven days. My only wish is that they’d been a bit more clear as to the potential length of the recovery process, but I guess they don’t want to scare people away either (needlessly).
No visit — 60 days:
I won’t have another check-​up for over a month, but the vision continues its slow improvement. I can see at a distance more clearly each week. Ghosting is still an issue although it seems to occur further out. Part of the healing process I guess. Still very happy I had the surgery.
Eighth Visit — 90 days
Still have a lot of ghosting and vision regressed since day 60. Can you say dry eye??? That is what they say the cause is and hopefully it is. I started Restasis yesterday to the tune of $ 250 for a 30 day supply. Gotta love Caremark insurance coverage… I’m definitely frustrated. The double vision is a PITA. Due to this, I go back again n 30 days. More to follow 11÷13÷12
Ninth visit −12÷10
Dry eye was much better, but the ghosting is still a PITA. They said to give it a bit longer and see what happens. It is ¹²⁄₃₁ and if anything the ghosting is worse, maybe because the vision is better? I’m going to make another appointment and see what the next steps are. I don’t get the feeling that six months of double vision is normal… I’ve dropped the rating to three stars for the time being. I’m losing patience and ready to have good vision.

My LASIK experience couldn’t have been more amazing! Dr. Woodham and staff made it very relaxing and stress-​free, and the surgery itself was quick and easy! I’d go so far as to say I even enjoyed it :) They made sure I was comfortable at all times, and they called me that evening to see how I was doing. I’ve been a patient there for my annual visits for 2 years now, and I wouldn’t have trusted anyone else with my eyes for this procedure. I now have ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision (my LASIK was done yesterday!) and am so happy to be out of glasses/​contacts. Thanks Dr. Woodham and Staff!

I had LASIK done two weeks ago with Dr. Woodham and had a great experience. I was a little nervous about the procedure considering I think messing with your eyes is always scary, but they made me feel very calm and very well informed the entire time. They even checked up on me later in the evening the day of the procedure to make sure that I was feeling ok and I know this was after office hours. I will probably switch over to Dr. Woodhams office now for my regular annual eye exams because I had such a great experience there.

I had LASIK with Dr. Woodhams in 2001, in the initial consultation I was told that I had nice thick corneas and could expect ²⁰⁄₂₀ or even ²⁰⁄₁₅. At that point, I had been in glasses forever 20 years and we scheduled the surgery. About the best I got to was ²⁰⁄₃₀ and a couple of years later I developed cateracts. I do not blame my cateracts on anything Dr. Woodhams did, that would be stupid. But, with that being said, after I was diagnosed with the cateracts, Dr Woodhams and his staff quit returning my phone calls. I guess since LASIK ultimately did not work for me and the fact that I’m not one of his success stories, I was dropped like a hot potato. Totally abandoned by Dr. Woodhams and his staff.

I just had Intralasik done on May 16^th. I am an extremely nervous person when it comes to anything medical. Dr. Woodham and his staff handled the procedure very well and seemed to keep me relatively calm. I even had to go back the next day for an eye wash and they basically wisked me in an out and even cared for my 2 year old daughter during the procedure. I highly recommend this facility for an type of lasik eye surgery. My husband had lasik done in 2000 and has had no complaints!

I just had ICL done on ²⁄₁₄ and it was a great experience. The staff and Dr. Woodham were fun and friendly the entire time. I was a little nervous having a procedure done on my eyes but they totally put me at ease.
The communication and follow up that they do is top notch. Finally a company that actually uses email and the Internet the way they should.
I honestly don’t have a bad thing to say about Woodham’s and that is a hard thing to believe. There is usually something that I can find that places can do better, but not today!

I went to Dr Woodhams for a LASIK consultation. Because of my extreme nearsightedness and slight dry eye problems, I was told I was not an ideal candidate for LASIK but should consider ICLs (Implantable Collamer Lenses). They cost about twice as much as LASIK, which at Woodhams meant about $ 3000 per eye. Hoo boy. I don’t think this was just a way to get more money out of me, though. All research I did on my own before deciding seemed to support what Woodhams had said, so I went ahead and got the implants. And it has been FANTASTIC! I hadn’t been able to see the big E on eye charts since I was 6, and now I have ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision.
One of the reasons I don’t give Woodhams and the ICLs a perfect 5 stars is that I feel that some lasting effects of ICLs were not communicated properly to me. First of all, to implant the lense an incision is made at the top of the cornea. The «scar» or whatever you want to call it is permanent, so I have a small black line at the top of my eye from now on. Unless someone is really staring deep into my eyes it’s probably not noticeable, but still. Secondly, all research on ICL implants would have you believe that the surgery ends and BOOM! instant ²⁰⁄₂₀. So that’s kind of what I expected. Not the case! I could barely see a thing for the rest of the day. When I woke up the next morning I could see a lot better, but still not perfect yet. In fact, the healing process was very slow for me and I had trouble seeing road signs until about 2 months after the surgery. This supposedly varies by person, but from all the videos on the website Dr Woodhams directed me towards I thought it would be a lot better a lot sooner. Not everyone gets to see ²⁰⁄₂₀ afterwards so I worried that I was one of the people it didn’t work perfectly on. Had I known all that I still would have gone through with the surgery, but it also would have saved me some worrying. It’s been 7 months and I find I am sensitive to light and have halos at night, but neither of these is a big deal for me. I can freaking see! That’s enough.
One last reason to deduct a star: I saw Dr. Hung for really bad red eye a few months after surgery and he misdiagnosed me with allergies. Turns out it was an eye infection and those extra 2 weeks of waiting to see if the allergy drops work could have effected my healing. No harm, no foul, but I always make sure my appointments are with Dr. Woodham now.
Other stuff: the office is really nice, has a Keurig K cup coffee maker in the waiting area (yay!) and the staff is super friendly and has ALWAYS seen me promptly, before I even have time to finish my coffee from the fancy machine.

I will be adding to this review as I have time but wanted to get a rating in here to start.
I am a Huge fan of these guys! This is one of the more professionally run businesses I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. They have a very efficient, well trained and friendly staff.
I will continue with how my procedure went at a later date.
