I donated every week for years until some pompous stuffed shirt executive, probably with a degree in basket weaving, implemented new policies for pay and appointments. TPR was once so busy that they had to start opening on Sundays. Now, it’s practically a ghost town. So, with a business that already pays too little for something that they sell for a whole lot, they change the way donors are paid, no more ATM’s, now, they give your pay on a card that charges you if you even LOOK at it, not to mention that if what your owed isn’t in denominations of $ 20, then your screwed, complete and utter fail… then, I guess the same genius says donors can only make appts on their website, which is seriously flawed and still has not eliminated all the bugs. Now, all these changes wouldn’t have been the sole reason I, with so many others, FLED that sinking ship… it was because it was so incompetently executed. The damage that has been done to TPR will be felt for a while, but I’m sure there will be more desperate people who have no choice but to do business with them, so this will probably only be a temporary setback. If your going to completely overhaul your business model, you better have the staff trained properly to handle it. I was loyal to TPR, even when their weekly payout dropped lower than the competition, even when the monthly bonuses dried up to practically nothing, even the half-​assed, buggy website you are forced to use to make an appt didn’t make me leave, appts are useless anyway, even when a 7am appt stretches to 7:30 — 7:45, (always), because the employees don’t start trickling in till after 7:05 and are NOT prepared, (ever). (They should start opening at 6:45 just to get their employees prepared for the 7am appts because they never are, not once the entire time I went there) BUT… if YOU are 15 mins late your done for the day and must make another appt, fair huh… but when you started messin with my money, when you started COSTING me money with that shitty card… you crossed the last line, your fired.
I wouldn’t recommend this place to an enemy, go to Octopharma if you have a choice.

As a first time donor, I have to say this place was not trying to make anyone feel welcome. It was literally like a DMV for plasma, where no one helps you figure out where to sit or asks if youve been helped already. I mustve sat in that waiting room for 30 minutes before realizing (on my own!) That i was in the wrong section to begin with, and that apparently theres a sign in sheet (that im sure others who came in after me had already signed). Once i was situated, things werent so bad, until after speaking to one of the staff and I was told to. ahem. hold my «urge to urinate» for 10 minutes so they could do a drug test. I was already squirming, but i waited. And waited… until 40 minutes went by and I had to go up to the desk and wait 5 more minutes just for someone to see me. And then she says, matter of factly, «everyones on lunch». What?!? Didnt think to at least keep ONE doctor on staff and alternate? Or at the VERY least warn me before telling me itll only be 10 minutes? Finally, the procedure began, and the doctors in that are of the building were much more attentive and friendly, chatting with patients and checking up on us all periodically. But bring something to do if you go, because they dont even offer courtesy magazines or ANYTHING while youre hooked up for an hour or longer.
All in all, they did their job, but Id recommend that first timers go elsewhere, unless youve always wanted to be invisible ;p

I have not personally donated blood here, but a buddy of mine has and it was not pleasant for him. The storefront is dirty and it looks like it is giving out free money instead of trying to recruit blood donors. The place is packed every time I go by so they must be doing well.
He was there at 8am. Finally at NOON he was told he couldn’t donate due to having too many tattoos!!! Having already waited for nearly four hours and had his finger pricked an hour and half earlier, they knew how many tattoos he had when they asked him! They didn’t tell him immediately due their «procedure» of telling individuals of their acceptance as a donor in the back due to privacy. I understand that this can be a sensitive subject, but I would rather you whisper something in my ear, take me in the back hallway or something, rather than letting me waste 1 ½ hours of my time!!!
