Casa Taco & Tequila Bar is your typical over-priced Atlantic City restaurant. Despite the high prices, the food and service quality was great. Between three people, we split nachos, shrimp tacos, and a pitcher of margaritas. Everything was delicious! We saw a lot of tables getting guacamole made table-side, so we will definitely try that next time we visit Atlantic City!

Great restaurant inside if the Tropicana. The food came out quickly The Elote was literally amazing! I wish I’d gotten more. The shell of the chicken tacos were not my favorite but they weren’t bad. My cousin absolutely loved the surf & tuft tacos

My friend and I were seated at a table right next to the DJ, and while he was very friendly and welcoming, the music was overwhelmingly loud, so I switched seats so that we could carry as normal a conversation as possible without losing our voices. Service was ssslllooowww, but we had very good sangrias. We ordered an elote to share and it was fabulous! The corn was charred perfectly, the mayo had a nice kick, and we almost fought over the last bite.(;p) Next we shared the veggie enchiladas with black beans and rice. The green salsa had a nice sour note and the cheese in the enchiladas had the perfect consistency. Between the free chips and salsa, the elote, and the enchiladas, we were stuffed. However we sat and waited and waited and waited and waited for our server to come back to give us our check. My friend even tried to find her, I suspect she was doing close prep in the kitchen rather then checking on her tables. The loud music was kicking the whole time. Points for the delicious drinks and food but points lost for the loud music, the dinning area that was open to the hallway as people yelled at each other as they left and entered the casino, and major points lost for the slow service. If you give this place a try maybe sit at the bar.

Stopped here for lunch during a bachelorette party weekend. This could have been five stars but the service was AWFUL. The food was actually delicious, but the server literally seemed surprised every time we asked him six times for something, as if he didn’t know he was waiting tables. The meal started off on a bad note when I ordered a watermelon margarita and was served some kind of clear, coconut flavored drink. No watermelon coloring, no muddled jalapeño, and when I asked the server about it, he had no idea what it was and insisted it was what I ordered. He insisted it was correct and didn’t seem particularly concerned. I sent it back and ordered a plain margarita. We got the guacamole made table side, which was super yummy and super fresh. The deep fried tortilla were greasy and delicious, but we ran out too quickly. When we asked for more chips, we didn’t get them until we had asked our server several times, then finally two different servers, and twenty minutes later were brought way too many baskets of chips. The tacos were delicious — I had the fish tacos, and they were fantastic. However, when the entire table of six asked for limes for their tacos — we had to ask three times, and by the time they came out, we were all almost done. The check took forever, and he had added a gratuity for our large party. No wonder he didn’t care how awful the service was! I have to stress that this is a very low key, low maintenance group that is not demanding. If you want yummy but overpriced tacos, overpriced and watered down drinks paired with terrible service — this is your place.

Beside getting my wife’s order totally wrong, there was something in my Cuban Sandwich that broke my tooth. The mustard is mayonnaise and mustard mixed(to seem more filling, lots of restaurant«concepts» do this). This place SUCKED!

When our first Mexican spot was a definite miss… as in they weren’t serving Margaritas. It meant onward to our next spot I found while scrolling through places in Unilocal and I have to admit, I’m pretty sure it had to do with seeing the words«Tequila bar» in the name! While there really isn’t much happening on a Sunday evening in Atlantic City, this place made it just a little brighter. This was my first trip to the boardwalk and sadly I was disappointed by the«boardwalk» itself, thankfully Casa came through like a little gem. Given, it was a Sunday evening and overall the place was pretty wide open, we were immediately greeted and seated for our party of four. For starters we ordered a pitcher of regular magaritas, jalapeño poppers and of course had to have the freshly made table side guacamole. I love fresh guac and this was pretty awesome and even better were the chips! Not your ordinary tortilla chip either.(total bonus points for this chip-a-holic-connoisseur!) Since hubby and I usually gorge ourselves on the chips and guac, I mean, how can one not when they’re so damn good and this time was no exception. We decided to split the surf and turf tacos. Three corn tortillas carefully held shrimp and marinated steak? beef? Whatever the meat was, it was juicy and tender along with refried beans, cheese, onions, cilantro and some red enchilada sauce? Our friends ordered the same tacos and 2 chicken enchiladas with green chilie sauce. I tried the enchiladas and they were tasty as well. Nicely stuffed and oozing with chicken and cheese. It also came with Spanish rice and refried beans. Great friends, good food and a nice ambiance… it was an awesome way to end our quick trip through Atlantic City.

I have had many breakfasts and brunches in my life and, by far, I must say this was one of the most adventurous, exciting and delicious breakfast I have had in a while. Do not forget that this is a Mexican restaurant that serves breakfast. I had Huevos Benedictos(Mexican chorizo, sliced avocado, salsa roja, hollandaise sauce) which was out of this world(accompanied by their Bloody Mary). The service is very efficient and attentive. When at Tropicana, do not miss Casa Taco and Tequila Bar!!!

I was on a little getaway for a few days and decided to stay at the Tropicana for the first time! We’ve always visited for just for the restaurants! So we came across this Mexican spot and it was a little before 5pm so they offered happy hour, the waitress/supervised/manager? Offered that we can sit at the bar or at the table. At first we stated we’ll sit at a table because we thought the bar didn’t have a section for the wheelchair. When we got to the table I realized that the wheelchair section was in fact empty so I said let’s head to the bar which was 5steps away. As soon as we got to the bar the bartender did not greet us, he gave me a blank look and said«You can go back to the table, where the waitress will take your order» he said it in the most stern, nasty tone. I then told him that we’re okay with staying at the bar, then he proceeds to say«Well you shouldn’t be sitting here because people is going to be coming back in fourth and you’re going to be in the way» again with a nasty tone. I told him that the section we were at was to sit a wheelchair, and that I was not going to be «in the way» he then said well I don’t think this section is for wheelchairs. Basically I told him that he is wrong and we left because he was so rude and arrogant towards us! We went to speak to the w oman that greeted us and we explained to her what went down and she said«oh yeah that’s how his attitude is» I was so shocked for her to say that and think that it was okay to speak and to treat a potential customer in that manner!!! They lost out big because I love margaritas and I am a great tipper for great service! I wish I can give Zero stars! For disgusting service!

I like this place. I always like places that have outdoor seating. Good Mexican not the best but you are at Atlantic City not Mexico. Good drinks. The staff was very friendly. This is a great hotel restaurant. Good price, good food, good drinks and great staff.

Casa taco was okay. The margaritas and tableside guac(with the fresh chips) were delicious, but everyone at my party of 10 was not impressed with our meals. I had the shrimp tacos, which were very good except the tortillas were soggy and didn’t add much to the meal. Two of my friends got the taco salad, which was really gross. The server was attentive and brought out a shot for my friend’s birthday, which we appreciated. Overall, if you want really good Mexican food in AC, go to dos caminos. If you want something cheaper, this is an okay option.

After reading good reviews, decided to have a grand lunch at this Mexican place. This place is within Tropicana Casino and there is a small place which has the same name which is more like chipotle format and seriously I was heart broken and we decided to check out other place. WHile walking from outside saw the actual Casa Taco and Tequila bar and we entered from the back gate :-). They were cleaning the place and the lady told us to use the front where the hostess will seat us. I am glad that we finally found this place. Everything was great: Food/Service/Ambiance. We were given complimentary tortilla chips and 3 different types of chutneys. All were great, and the chips were crunchy/fresh and the best we ever had. For main course were ordered Chicken Enchilada and CHICKENRELLENOS — both were good. Our serving lady was very considerate and replaced the drunken beans with the black beans since I dont eat pork. 5 stars for this place!

It was ok. We sat at the bar. I had a house margarita that was pretty tasty and was only $ 6.(Game day special). My fiancé had the beef tacos. He said they tasted ok but they fell apart as he was trying to eat them. He also ordered corn on the cob but the bartender forgot to put that part of the order in. The bartender apologized. I had the chicken enchiladas. They offer red, green, or mole sauce. I asked for red but received mole. I did not complain. Turns out I like mole. The taste overall was fine. Not the best ever but we are full. They have a good tequila selection. We did have the queso as well. I think that was my favorite part.

So good went two nights in a row. Table side guacamole is awesome, house chips are friend and really good. They give you 3 different salsa to get you started. Drinks are pricey but really good. Whiskey summer was very strong and worth the price. Chicken quesadillas are massive! Enough for 2 people and bangin. Crispy and cheesy. Fish tacos were definitely the highlight. Had them 2 nights in a row and wow. The mahi was cooked absolutely perfectly and with the avocado, blue corn tortilla and aoli it has taken the spot for best fucking fish tacos I’ve ever eaten.

Very accommodating and friendly! I’m here on business and a traditional vegetarian(known today as a Vegan), so when I sat down to order the Vegetarian Enchiladas, I asked for no cheese. The waiter politely informed me that that it was pre-assembled with the cheese, but that they could easily make me a veggie black bean burrito instead and add guacamole. Perfect! That sounds great. :D I couldn’t finish it, but my room came with a fridge, so it worked out better than I imagined. Both the host and the waiter were wonderful and I highly recommend this place.

Came here the other day. Long day on the beach. Starved & wanted tacos. So we found ourselves at Casa Tacos & Tequila Bar. Got seated quickly. Server came out a few mins later. Didn’t time that day but we looked at the menu and already knew what we wanted. She was nice, bubbly, talkative and very interactive. Which is good. Who doesn’t want a happy server?! She recommended I try the house Red Sangria. The BF ordered a Patron Margarita on the rocks. We also ordered Sopes. Chicken Nachos and because I wasn’t sure about the size of the sopes Chicken Tortilla soup. We basically ordered from the appetizer menu. The nachos were MASSIVE. Totally underestimated the size. Mind you this is an appetizer. The nacho chips were home made and tasted great alone without the flavorful stuff piled high on! Shredded spicy chicken. black beans.jalapeños.peppers.3 cheeses. They were amazing! The sopes were a great size. Shocking for an appetizer. Homemade sopes. Chipotle chicken.cheese.salsa.lettuce all surrounded by a creamy sauce. I could only eat 2 before tapping out. The chicken tortilla soups was everything s tortilla soup should be. Flavorful.creamy.thick.sorta spicy. Topped with avocados and crema. All this for $ 45 bucks. Can’t beat that. Thank you Tropicana & Casa! We’ll be back.

3.5 stars! Me and my daughter are always craving Mexican. So while spending the night at the Trop we found this yummy place. We had the table side guacamole, which was really good and worth the money. My daughter ordered the chicken tacos and I had the Sopes p, which is an app but was perfect as a whole meal for me. Our server was nice and it was an all around positive experience.

Awesome place to dine out and drink at in the Trop! The selections of Latin American beers and Tequila are ridiculous! So I started my night with some Imperial Cerveza from Costa Rica and a Don Julio Silver shot. Our appetizer was beyond phenomenal! We had tableside fresh made guacamole which was better than any we have had at our favorite Mexican restaurant back home. And their specialty tacos were really terrific as well. I had the surf and turf tacos while the wife had hers with steak, and we both enjoyed ourselves tremendously! I also need to mention that the staff here, the ladies that sat us, the waiter, even our guacamole preparer were very friendly, extremely attentative and courteous. A lost art in most food establishments. So, thank you Tropicana Buffet for being closed down on a busy Thursday evening or else we would not have discovered this new lil food spot! The next time we go, we need to try their breakfast!

What, I can’t believe I forgot to write this review. I came here with two friends during Unilocal’s wonderful AC winter break weekend in March. It was restaurant week and I found Casa’s prices to be great for what was offered. We sat at the bar and were able to order promptly and savor our great drinks. Our bartender was very pleasant. I ordered the elote(which I must say is one of the best i’ve had), vegetarian enchiladas, and a dessert. My enchilada was good, not the best but good. It came with rice and black beans. We all ordered different desserts(out of two options). The bartender kindly informed us that both options were sold out but we can try the Tres leche. I was hesitant but I tried it and OMG, it was great. My experience was pleasant, the bartender was cool and the atmosphere was good. I would definitely go back.

Tried this place with my two best friends while we were all home for the holidays. The décor was nice and there was no wait which is amazing for a Saturday evening. There was also a singer setting the mood with a tune in Spanish. He was just okay not that I knew what he was saying.(maybe that would have helped) but just okay nonetheless. Our server was nice and we were seated immediately. He took our drink orders and got them back to us promptly. He also attempted to bring over two baskets of chips and a salsa palette with three different types of salsa. He managed to drop one basket of our chips however right before placing them on our table.(a few fell on my feet). He apologized and we assured him that it was not a big deal. Another staffer came and cleaned up the chips, after a few minutes, but we never did get that second basket of chips. :( Pros –The food was great, I must say ! I ordered a chicken burrito with a side of plantains and OMG those were the BEST plantains I have ever had ! They just melted in your mouth, so sweet and not soggy which typically happens if sweet is not done right. They even had some crisp-ness to them which was AMAZING. –Server was nice and moved promptly –The décor and food prices Cons –Drink prices were expensive(All cocktail’s were $ 10 and up) I would have loved a cocktail for under 10 but I guess that’s Atlantic City for you. –Doors leading to boardwalk need to be LOCKED ! There was a door leading to the boardwalk right where we were sitting and a few casino goers liquor in hand, took the liberty to walk right through the restaurant and hit the boardwalk using that door several times, letting in the December night air in with them every time. It was freezing. NOTCOOL walk around to the entrance between this casa and hooters. — It took a minute to get our check at the end of the meal. I wish I could give this place more stars but the service just needs work, which stinks because the food is GREAT ! I’d give it another shot for those plantains alone.
