Crt Ii

Went out today with my 4 sons and my father for fluke not to much action but caught few shorty and 3 keepers. Had a wonderful time.
Capt. Mick and Mate Chuck where fantastic with my family and we will be going again soon. This charter is great for family fishing. Five stars all the way Thxs capt. See u again

Chartered a boat today to take my niece and nephew fishing in the afternoon.
Captain Mick and his mate (Jeff) were friendly, knowledgable and helpful. We had a great time and would recommend!
As per the other review, there is a rung ladder to climb to get onto the boat that may be a bit tricky for the elderly. Not dangerous as the mate and captain are right there but certainly not easy if you have trouble handling your own body weight.

I had arranged to go charter fishing with another boat in the area but the night before we were scheduled to go out that boat broke down and the Captain of that vessel arranged to get us on the CRT II with Captain Mick Trzaska. Needless to say I’m usually the one who can spend days researching something like this before selecting a charter boat. So I started out with some hesitations on going out with a captain on boat I knew nothing about.
Upon reaching the dock I was pleasantly surprised at the Vessel CRT II a 37′ Dawson. We were a party of 12 and had plenty of room aboard. (the CRT II is a Coast Guard Inspected Vessel for up to 20 people, that many might be a tight fit though) Captain Mick and First Mate John were both a pleasure to work with. They helped us load our gear on the boat which included enough food, drinks, snacks, and clothing to equip a small third world army. My only reason for not giving the CRT II a five star review was the dock that they have chosen to depart from. You must descend a wooden 2X4 Ladder to gain access to the boat. This became a bit of a tense moment as we boarded and later disembarked 3 elderly individuals as well as 3 children under 10. But it did the job we all made it on and off without incident. The vessel was also clean and was in good working order. It also had nice high guard rails along the cockpit area which was comforting as the youngest we had aboard was 4 years old.
Our trip took place on May 12, 2013 and the weather was beautiful which greatly enhanced our experience, but with this vessel’s extended hard top; fishing in light rain wouldn’t be a problem. The good news is the fishing for Stripe Bass was near its peak for the area during our mid-​May voyage. Captain Mick and First Mate John helped us to land 10 stripe bass (one of which was a 36″ fish) and a single Blue Fish. The fish landed by the Children would take require extra time to reel in, but Mick and John were very patient and understanding just giving a bit of advice to help. This helped the grand parents on board to create fond memories with their grandchildren.
Overall we had a very good time and if we find our way back to New Jersey I will be looking up the CRT II to go out on again.
