Attleboro Commuter Rail

Really needs a second exit at the south end of the lot onto Olive! Traffic getting out through the one exit after an evening rush hour discharge stop can put 10 – 12 minutes onto the end of your commute — not what you want to happen at the end of a long ride home. An alternate exit would greatly relieve congestion. Seems like an easy fix — when is it going to happen?

ample parking and easy to find, my only complaint is that the ticket station on the property is only open for a few hours a day on the weekdays and completely closed on the weekends. you’ll pay a little more if you purchase your tickets once on the train, but it’ll be less of a hassle.

Huge, huge parking lot. There are always spots open. There is a building where you can purchase tickets, etc. However, the platforms are open to the elements. There is no real protection from rain or snow.

This was a nice place to get on/​off the train and the parking was much better than some other train stations in the area. I prefer the So Attleboro station, as it’s only 2 miles from my apt, but this is only a few more miles up the road.

Parking at this lot is $ 4 per day and you can pay in the little metal box thing or via an app on your phone called Parkmobile which syncs up with a credit card. There is very limited parking on the inbound (to Boston) side of the station and much more ample parking on the outbound (to Providence) side. I am on the later side of the weekday morning commute and there are always still some spots available from the outbound side. Leaving in the evenings can be jammed up since there is only one entrance and exit to the larger parking lot (accessible via Wall Street).
The station itself is an okay place. Inside there is a coffee shop for warm drinks and light breakfast fare as well as a drop-​off spot for dry cleaning. Lots of benches for waiting and a TV for news. You can buy train tickets inside until about 11am or so when the building closes. There are benches outside or you can just stand and wait.
In my few months of being a weekday commuter in to Boston ($ 9.25 one way), I have seen that the line usually runs pretty close to being on schedule and is usually within five or so minutes late. I like using the MBTA app on my phone to buy tickets and check for service alerts.

10 min to providence for $ 2.25. The train gets out right next to providence place mall. So convenient! Also just a short walk to pro-​town.
