History

Established in 2009.

Concrete in Disguise LLC originally started as a hobby that came out of one of my many DIY projects. Concrete countertops led to one of the most frustrating and rewarding experiences of my life. I read books and attended classes by the ‘gurus’ of concrete countertops and my resulting projects were really cool looking, but were lacking in one really important aspect: strength. Over the next year I started looking into high performance concrete. I finally found a guy up in Pennsylvania, who had spent 20 years building bridge trusses and was now making countertops. I went up and spent a weekend in the shop with him learning to make strong and beautiful countertops. Now I was making the kind of quality that I would put in my home and people were seeing my work and asking me to put it in theirs. At this point my wife and I formed the business and I was doing it on the side while still working full time. In 2010 I was laid off from my job and decided to go into the business full time.
