Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill

not surprised it closed! Service was slow, prices were high. It had so much potential! Concerts were pretty fun when there were big names

Well, I was quite hesitant on coming in here. Country is not really my thing but what the heck. The place is HUGE! Like concert venue huge. I have no idea how they manage to fill it up either, there were literally 6 patrons in the whole place that night and we were all sitting at the bar. The bartender was extremely polite and super friendly, that got my attention right away. He checked in on us quite often. We got the TK’s Smokehouse Nachos and the Southern Style Chicken Tenders. I got the mashed potatoes instead of the fries (which aren’t in the pic and are beyond amazing btw but they still brought me the fries anyway). The portions are quite impressive which also reflects in the price. Everything was delicious and I have zero complaints. I would definitely come back here if I was doing some shopping again at Great Lakes Crossing, less chaotic/​loud/​obnoxious than Bar Louie by far.

Three stars if the bar wasn’t ten feet deep and I had to have Inspector Gadget arms to reach my drink, just weird. Food… GFS for sure. Doubt anything is homemade, Toby don’t eat here and I doubt you would ever catch him in here. Service was okay, but nothing to write about, literally. The space is too big and I bet the rent will be the death of them, I give them until next summer and I then i bet i see an empty space with a for lease sign… tbc

Cool place if a decent act is coming to town. I saw Parmalee here and sat at the bar which was cool. The drinks along with the food is average but WAY overpriced. Beer is served up in a mason jar, it’s a novel way to keep with the ambiance. I didn’t bother eating as it was packed and frankly the bar staff seemed a bit sketchy in terms of looks. Just a bit on the 50 and skanky side but maybe they were short staffed? Either way it’s like a country rock bar in a mall, can’t ask for too much!
I would definitely go back for a show or to grab a beer or two while my lady shopped but its not a destination spot for me personally. With Bar Louie on the other side of the mall, I’d probably be more likely to be found there.

Calling bar rescue or Toby Keith himself, help this place. My prediction, they will be out of business very soon.
When Toby Keith’s first opened we went a couple times and it was terrible. At the time we chalked it up to the fact it was new and growing pains. Flash forward several years later: still terrible!
Here’s how tonight went. Waited 10 mins at the host station, no employees in site, about 15 people on the whole place. So we walk to the mall side and still no employees. We go back to the front and wait 10 more mins and finally a host comes over, no apologies or anything.
Now we are seated, 10 more mins a waitress comes. Order a couple beers, 20 mins later we get waters. 5 mins later we get beer. Ok now it’s almost an hour into this ordeal. Now enter the server change! No warning we now have a new waitress. Um ok? Order food, eat food, no one checks on us. Ask for bill from random employee. Pay bill and leave, never saw either of our two servers again. I have no idea what the heck is going on but this place needs some serious help. It’s sad because the space itself is great, it’s gigantic, good stage/​dance area and it’s at the mall for crying out loud! You should always be busy at the mall. I guarantee Bar Louie had a wait tonight! Last time ever Toby Keith, I’ll stick to your music.

Let me start by saying that there are a lot of undesirables in this place.
Tuesday evening, 7:30ish. The restaurant has maybe 30 people in it. The hostess sat us in a section with a handful of degenerates and their poorly behaved children. Why, why, why do they sit two adults near all children? I had asked the hostess if we could sit in another section, and she said that the server in that area just had a table seated in the section so the other server needed us to sit in her section. I was ticked.
Fast forward to the drinks. The glasses are huge and 80% of ice, so we couldn’t even taste the tea. We ordered the chicken tenders and they were brought out within 3 minutes. It was clear that they had been sitting around all day. The fries were so limp and stale as if they had been reheated. The chicken was disgusting. Clearly they had been reheated, yet they were only room temperature. They were so tough, and you had to send a search party out to find the chicken because the breading was crazy heavy.
Our server never came back to check on how things were and it was impossible to find someone to complain to. It was a complete waste of a dinner. We would’ve been better served opening a can of chicken flavored dog food.
I will never return to this place. Plus, I’ll be contacting the Oakland County Health Department because the food was only room temperature.

My girlfriend and I came here for lunch today before we went shopping at the mall.
Let’s start from the beginning.
We were greeted immediately at the door by two hostess girls who were very nice. They asked us if a «high top» was okay and we said yes.
We were sat right away and greeted promptly after by our awkward waiter. He was not very knowledgeable and most likely still in training or his first shift. It was so bad. I asked for coke zero with lemon and got a diet coke. I asked twice for lemons and never got them. We ordered alcoholic drinks as well and that was hard enough for him he had no knowledge of any specials or their listings.
We got a side salad, nachos and a pulled pork sandwich. ALL WERE AMAZING. big downfall I ordered the sandwich and would have like to have choices for my sides but he just walked away and put in the order. I got cold limpy fries. :(sad.
I had to ask for our bill (he never cleared off our table during the visit) and when he cashed us out he just set it down and walked away. No thank you for coming in or see you guys next time– nothing. I would go back for the great food but the service was absolutely horrible!!!

Things seem to be getting better here. Though, the menu is a lot more limited it came out quickly and had a lot of flavor. For an appetizer we tried the pickle fries — we are used to the large dill pickles with battery, but they were actual pickle fries. They were still very tasty, just more breading than I am used to. Time wise, the appetizer came out in about 8 minutes and the dinners came out shortly after. Very quick!
My wife ordered the birthday steak with mac and cheese and fries. I opted for the cobb salad with southwest ranch. Both came out excellent! The steak was cooked excellent (well done) — usually we need to return our steaks to have them cooked longer, but this one was done excellent.
The birthday deep fried twinkie was excellent as well! A little rich for me, but I am not a sweets kinda guy.
Lexie, our server, was excellent. She kept checking on us and bringing refills when needed.
Hopefully the food quality and service stay like this!

I shoulda known something was up when I got the Maverick badge for checking into this place, but it looked amazing! Motorcycles, gigantic space, and a bar that appears to be in the shape of a guitar. This place has potential, but that’s it.
We sat at the bar while it was an average Sunday afternoon crowd (far from full) yet we had to wait almost 10 minutes to get acknowledged. Then we ordered a Guinness and Parducci Sauvignon Blanc (listed on the menu) only to find they didn’t have the wine.
Regarding food: we ordered the nachos with pulled pork which were eh ok. Nothing to write home about. However, the server dropped off the nachos and ran, no plates and no forks. We tried for over five minutes to flag a bartender and finally took it upon ourselves to go behind the bar and get a plate.
What’s worse, the bar staff were constantly bickering with each other, so much so that one (guy with a beard) made another girl cry.
Don’t waste your time going here. Time to call Bar Rescue or they won’t last. Needless to say, one appetizer and one drink was all we could stand.

Food came out super quick — less than five minutes — however, they weren’t at all busy. Seems like a place to go for drinks and that’s it.
I got the Chicken Mac & Cheese — a Toby Keith Signature dish — but it was very bland. No taste whatsoever, especially for a $ 12 price tag.
The Honey BBQ Chicken Wrap that my other half got was very good in her opinion.

I do NOT love this bar and grill — I hate it. If I could give it negative stars, I would.
Full disclosure — I had to go here for someone’s birthday. I’m not a food snob, but I’ve never been here before and it wouldn’t be my first choice (or my 2^nd or 16^th). Now it would be my last choice, far below eating out of a dumpster. I looked at the reviews beforehand and set my expectations very low. They managed to exceed those by a mile.
The server kept apologizing because they recently changed their menu and don’t have many things they did before. The poor lady seemed embarrassed by her job, although maybe it was the outfit. But the service, which most people seem to complain about, was slow but ok compared to the food.
The prices were astronomical even by mall standards, and once I got my food I was even more upset about how high they were. Most things delivered to our table were worse than GFS, and my chicken fried chicken wasn’t even chicken breast, it was chicken patties. Not like you get at a gas station that sit in a warmer for a week, those are thick and juicy and flavorful compared to this. It was a quarter inch of compressed sawdust breaded and overly deep fried. The side dishes were cold and flavorless and the gravy was like white glue with a skin on it. I’d call it dog food but I wouldn’t feed my dogs this stuff. My wife’s brisket was also full of fat and awful and my daughter’s «freedom fries» were inedible. How do you screw up french fries that badly? If this wasn’t the worst meal I’ve ever eaten, it was definitely in the bottom 3. Anyone who says they like this place is out of their mind.
A meal this bad makes me really mad. Screw you, Toby Keith, and screw your crappy food.
